A year ago I borrowed one of my mom's Pink Floyd CDs and ever since I have become completely obsessed with the band. I bought the discography, read about their whole history and the whole Enigma thing with the division Bell concerts. There is a re-enactment of 'The Wall' at Warner Theater on october 12 if anyone lives in Virginia and wants to check it out (even though I think the tickets are sold out already). I think its kind of tragic how the whole band is slowly dying off at the moment, Syd Barrett (first singer/guitarist) is dead, Richard Wright (keyboardist) recently died, Roger Waters (Lead singer/bass guitarist) has throat cancer, David Gilmour (Lead singer/Guitarist) is aging fast but I don't know if he's sick with anything, sadly I have no information about the drummer Nick Mason. I'm subscribed to this guy on youtube www.youtube.com/user/FabioSici, he has pretty much every song they've made and most of their solo albums (although his recording of 'A Saucerful of Secrets' is screwed up) So lets get this thread rolling and discuss PF! Also sorry if none or some of that wasn't coherent, almost 2 AM and my job is killed my brain cells today.

I won't say Pink Floyd is old news, 'cause any time is a good time to discover Pink Floyd. ^^
The Wall is one of my all time favorite records.

I tried to get into Pink Floyd, but I never got past the Wall. I must've listened to that album, beginning to end, a hundred times.

Every time someone gets into Pink Floyd, a kitten is born. I was raised listening to this band; it's like being with an old friend. <3 Yeah, time stops for no man, and Pink Floyd got started in the sixties. They've outlived a lot of their contemporaries, if that helps any. At Green: I always preferred Dark Side of the Moon and Division Bell myself.

Ah yes.. well, when I first started listening to Pink Floyd I looked at the Wall since I'd already heard some songs from that album; I never managed to get past it. It was addicting. I ended up going through other band phases..
