Nickelodeon has been spewing some real crap lately (with some exceptions), with the Rugrats all grown up taking the cream of the crop. I mean, theres just something about that show that makes me so angry... I guess it's because they use the most boring, stereotypical preteen characters with the most horribly cliche personalities I've ever seen.. and the most unoriginal storylines to match. Rocket power too. Extweem kids who play extweem sports (and I mean every extweam sport), with extweem friends who say really extweem words. Radd dude. just radd. Wanna grind an xtreem half-pipe while we surf in an extream ollie-competition during an Xtream tornado? In NewZealand? At Night? Exetreem?
I've also gotta a grudge with Cartoon Network.. I want to point how annoying it is to watch shows like Ami Yumi or Teen Titans, and watch them brutally butcher the anime medium, with thier overuse of japanese expressions and gestures. These expressions are overused so much, they begin to make the moment in which they occur confusing (mainly in the teen titans.) Although teen Titans is still a cool show.
note: the word, (and iterations of) extreme were used over 9 times in this post. apologies in advance.

I can understand why everyone hates All Grown Up. It's just a horribly cliched stereotypical show in which the producers ruined a perfectly good license to try to appeal to a broader audience by dealing with 'serious teen issues' as if anyone who watches that ever dealt with those issues. Did you ever see the one where Chuckie trys to impress a girl by prentending to be an exchange student? Or the one where Kimmy befriends a sinister looking kid but ends up being a 'nice guy' in the end. I'm so angry right now.
But I like cartoon network, some of their shows have interesting social and or political commentary. Did any of you ever watch foster's home for imaginary friends? It might seem childish but trust me, it's soooooo funny.

I agree. Just about anything nickelodeon comes up with lately has been pure crap. The only good thing they've created in a long time is the Avatar. Are they even making new episodes of that? They always seem to get rid of the good shows(INVADER ZIM!!!) to make way for the moronic ones.
And Cartoon Network isn't much better! The only thing they seem to do lately is make crappy shows, copy Nick's crappy shows,(Or maybe that;s the other way around. I dunno.) and make shows that were once good into drawn out, unoriginal crap.

I have a habit of watching children's shows. It's probably the female hormones cooing and making me a cuddle carebear-kinszors but some of these children's shows have more substance then what is for older kids.
Okay, I shouldn't be watching any kinds of these shows in the first place, society says, but I do.
But, I must say it. My footer even says so:
Maya & Miguel is terrible. Clifford the Big Red Dog is simplistically stupid. Dragon Tales is annoying. They threw out Bill Nye the Science Guy, Kratts' Creatures, and the Magic School Bus for these piles of drek? There was a time I actually learned something from what I watched. Is it because Bill called it quits with new shows? Is it because of the animals dying when they got hunted down? Was it because Miss Frizzle went on teacher's strike?
A good show is one that is accessible to all ages, regardless of target audience. This apparently has been forgotten.

Just thought that I'd take the liberty to point out that F.G, your new sig is awesome.
Anyway, that's besides the point. Of course Nickelodeon is doing horribly, it's no wonder as to the reason why. They're sponsoring and playing the shows that appeal to the majority of the Nick viewers. Invader Zim, best show ever. Why was it removed other than Jhonen Vasquez's wanting it to cease? According to statistics, it was one of Nick's least favored shows. Seems illogical, yes? But we've all seen the show here, we all love it, however, there are more people in the world that DON'T like it, one bit, and that's where the ratings bite them in the arse. Arse... yes. Anyway, that's that. Oh, my band won this year's talent show. Just..... just thought I should put that out there...

The only reason Invader Zim was taken off the air was because the officials at Nickelodeon thought it was too violent. Well, kids obviously seem to like violence, because that only reason they put Zim back on the air after they took it off the first time is because all the fans demanded that they have the best show that Nick ever produced back! Then it happened a second time! They took it off, fans got mad, and they put it back on! They ended it for good the third time, though.
If they wouldn't have harassed Jhonen Vasquez so much, then we might still be watching new episodes of Zim today! Well, maybe yesterday. Whenever they air new shows.

Actually, no. Jhonen Vasquez also requested that it be taken off, due the sudden continuity in the episodes.
Also, if it be that you'd like to see the unreleased episodes, you can always get the DVD set, so I don't see what the problem is.

I own the entire DVD set, but it's not enough! And I want some proof that JV actually wanted to discontinue the show. I've never heard that before!

Same reason that Seth McFarlen nearly canceled Family Guy permanently, and why he did so temporarily for such a long period of time. The humor suddenly shifted in a different direction. Though it was a subtle and not too huge difference, it shifted nonetheless. Most artists hate when this happens, they feel that the industry has crept its way into their mind or summat. It tends to bug them, make 'em feel as if they're "selling out" so to speak. That's all really. I'm sure he'll continue it eventually, it doesn't seem like a complete halt in production, so be patient for a while.
As for airing, I'm sure that Nickelodeon is out of the question. If he strays more towards the Filler Bunny or Johnny humor, then he'll most definetely be aired on something other than it, such as Adult Swim, or even Comedy Central.

^ Nice basis. But they really are. How can they pose to defend the city, when they destroy it in the process?...

^ Nice basis. But they really are. How can they pose to defend the city, when they destroy it in the process?... That sounds like a blow to The Big O and Megas XLR as well. I certainly hope not. The Power Rangers are awesome to grow up with, but of course I've kinda grown out of em' now. I gotta say, though, I happened to see an episode of SPD a little while ago, and it's better than a lot of their ideas have been. But the funniest thing is the way they finish of the "criminals" now: they use some kind of "Justice Meter" that displays an X or an O depending on whether the enemy's guilty or innocent. XD

I think Power Rangers has run a bit too long by now, which is why I can't really bring myself to even look at it for more than two minutes.
I think the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were a pretty good team(Albeit the most racial/stereotypical thing ever). The problem with that was its insanely unbelievable-ness. They litterally recycled SO MUCH footage per episode - literally the EXACT same footage, that even a kid could pick up on it in a more than subconscious way(I know, because.. yeah, I did). That plus really poorly done effects; I don't really think those mattered as much to a kid though. It was an alright show though; not the most believeable thing in the world, but it had some good ideas, anyway.

I loved the villains' names. Eye guy, Gnarly Gnome, Bad Dude. They were so creative. And as for Big O, Roger doesn't exactly destroy as much as the Rangers, and for Megas, it's all one big parody, that's the point. Coops an idiot, and he knows it. Awesome show, nonetheless.

Oprah. we all should all fear the power of the big O.Think about how many people Oprah controls. Think about what she could do and she can be as nice and perfect but I know she's not all that she seems . She could be hiding something, plus she is the 9th most powerful woman in the world and according to wikipedia. fear Oprah and the big O. Also I think that reality TV is evil, the simple life need I say more
