Hey! Did anyone see the new Star Wars? I know some of you must have. I've had Darth Vader as my avatar for the past few weeks in celebration of the movie, so I thought we might discuss it here. If you feel like it, that is.

I was SUPPOSED to see the movie last week Friday, but got screwd over... couldn't get a ride... *sigh*
However, I have the video game for Nintendo DS and I have to say it's one of the greatest games I've ever played. ;D It ROCKS. You getta use force powers and everything(like choking people with your mind!!)! I'm not sure how true to the story it is though, but I like the plot. Poor Ani...

I have that game, too---I bought it 'cause they gave a six-dollar coupon at the movie premiere. It's pretty freakin' awesome for a licensed game, and still fairly good as a regular game. I wish they'd given the 3D spaceship levels a little more, but the audio was fantastic and the game was pretty true to the movie. In fact, some lines are taken word-for-word. However, some levels were kind of "made up" to give more gameplay---like when Anakin starts going batshit in the Senate Halls---that wasn't in the movie, or, at least, not the fighting part.
You can check out my full review of the game at littlebadwolf.1up.com.

I seen it, I'm not a real Star Wars freak, but it was quite entertaining.
I liked how it all interconnected at the end.

Yeah, actually, the end was my favorite part. I kind of wished they had made it a little longer. It actually seemed a little rushed.

Revenge! Revenge! Of the Sith! The movie was absolutely awesome, and funny too. To note a scene
(R2 rushes through a passage and crashes into a wall. A Super Battledroid comes out)
SBD: Don't move!
*R2 shocks him*
SBD: Ow! *kicks R2*

Don't worry one of these days you'll see it and it'll dislocate your jaw. Wow that is a great show. I would have liked it better if George Lucas himself hadn't posted on super shadow dot com the night before the show that it would be the greatest movie any of them had seen in their lives, but you know George. And to be honest he messed up some of the litigation, but for a Star Wars that's on par with the first trilogy (some say the first two )(whatever that means )( : it's worth it. Which battle did you guys like the best?

I'd have to say the Emperor vs. Yoda. That was pretty good.

You should find who ever founded that site and bash his head in . Why? Because they say it in the movie, when they found out about the clones that the dark side was shrouding EVERYTHING. Still it would have been a half funny inital joke if he hadn't swore. So barbaric. That said, I really like the fight between the Emperor and Yoda too, especially the inital shock Yoda gets from the Emperor because it shows that he wasn't just a scary dark cloak with a whole lot of bad guys on his team. That whole Yoda vs. Emperor + Anakin vs. Obiwan fight was glorious, made the whole prequil trilogy worth it. One thing I'm sorry they didn't show was how everytime the war turned a corner Supreme Chancellor Palpatine made himself look like a hero and the Jedi (and the senate) look like a bunch of war mongers. That would have made the end of the Republic scene awe inspiring, and fearful instead of yeah-right! But that's just me.

Well, he kind of did that, I think he blamed the Jedi at one point for the fact that the war hadn't yet been resolved. I think.

I'm sorry, but I saw it and the acting was HORRIBLE!!!! Natelie Portman acted like a girl from our time, not a representative in a galaxy far, far away long ago. The love sequences made me want to hurl. AND CHANCELLOR PALPATENE WAS THE WORST..... The facial expressions during the battle sequence were just laughable. And the special effect where they had a live action head on top of a special effects body was just horrid....... And whoever animated Darth Vader at the end when he steps off the medical pod needs to learn not to be so melo-dramatic. Also, the scene transitions seemed like they were from Windows Movie Maker. And with Yoda's style of speaking being immitated EVERY FREAKING SECOND OF MY LIFE, his speaking parts just annoyed the heck out of me. And the wookies..... my God the wookies..... Talk about random throat noises. And all the background characters seemed like they were random, rabid fans who forced their way onto the set.... Sad.... just sad. The coolest character ever, General Grievous, was in it, so that was cool..... Man.... he just ROCKS....

I actually didn't like General Grievous that much. His voice to me sounded like Yoda was trying to do Darth Vader's voice. I thought Ian McDiarmid kind of stole the show as the Emperor in this movie. I wasn't disappointed with it whatsoever. The reason some of the dialoge sounds wooden is twofold:
1. George Lucas isn't really that great at writing dialogue, but I can forgive that because...
2. Star Wars is supposed to be absurdly romantic. Not romantic like Eros, I mean romantic in the way that it's kind of a love affair with old movie sci-fi reels and serials, where everyone's dialogue was a little stilted and formal to begin with. Essentially it's a medieval romance set in outer space. So, actually, the somewhat archaic speech patterns often make sense thematically, even if we aren't used to seeing movies where people talk that way.

Pharoah, my man, you hate the Emperor and the Emperor hates you. I'm glad we got that all figured out. I can't believe you didn't like the Emperor... but I'll get over it. As for the take over, he gave some reasons, but I'm talking about full blow liberal press bais in his favor and the people buy it. That would also explain the Jedi's sitting in their little temple feuding over their 'friend' the chancellor. And now, that... abslolute 'genious' George Lucas, is going to start making films in esoterica, when any friend he hasn't bought will tell him to stick with the action, NOT the script. Come back George , we love you!
