ah, I remember the old days. So whats your favorite band? Right now I'm in love with:
Slipknot, Jimmy Eat World, Soil, Messugah, Hatebreed, Green Day, Godsmack, Static-X and Sum 41.
Has anyone heard of Breaking Benjamin? There kinda good, they even made a song for Halo 2.
EDIT: I totally forgot when I mean music it could mean any genre of music.

Favorite bands, eh?
Rubber bands are useful, I don't have a need for hair bands, and I don't belong to a band of friends or whatnot... I fancy getting broadband someday, maybe the font too...
Oh...MUSICAL band...
Uh...I really like Weird Al and his music, I'm really into Daft Punk (as well as any group that does good techno), and I'm really into any well-known 80s bands, too, like Flock Of Seagulls, Blondie, Michael Jackson, etc...

I rock out sixties and seventies style. Lotta Led Zeppelin and AC/DC for me. They're mostly what I listen to. I also get into some of that eighties, early nineties stuff like Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, stuff like that. Then, ya know, somewhere in between, got stuff like Styx, REO Speedwagon, Rush, Queen, Van Halen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, U2, Uriah Heep - mostly just Demons and Wizards for them though, the list goes on and on and on... I listen to a lotta music; as much as I can. I think music is perhaps the greatest achievement of human culture.
I've also come to like some classical stuff. The real stirring instrumentals and stuff. Those're a lotta phun when you're up all night and paranoid outta your mind.

I don't think it would matter if you posted lyrics, but I wouldn't be too excessive about it... they can take up a lotta space... Oh yeah, I also am starting to take a liking to Elton John's music. I've become somewhat hooked on his more well known stuff, ya know, like Tiny Dancer and stuff. I'm probly gunna look into some of the other stuff sometime soon.

Yeah, his well-known stuff is nothing compared to his non-hits... It's quite amazing. Tumbleweed Connection --Not a hit on it, it's easily his best album... everything works!
I can't really explain the brilliance of the album, but there's alot of fantastic reviews on Amazon.
Same for Madman Across the Water.... The album is AMAZING... Two of the songs on the album are in my Top Five Elton Songs.
1. Indian Sunset 2. Someone Saved My Life Tonight 3. Levon 4. Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me 5. Your Song
Indian Sunset was recently used in a 2Pac song called Ghetto Gospel, the song got butchered by it, but hopefully we get some more fans because of it!

I know three of the songs on that list(#2,#4, and #5) ;D I feel special now.
Yeah, that usually is the case. Less known music totally pwns well known music. I could ramble on and on and on about all sorts of songs that most people don't know that are utterly brilliant.

Hur. I think a good majority of us know that the Barenaked Ladies are just a bunch of crazy guys who picked a pretty... interesting band name.
Anyway, um, I'm more of a progressive rock sort of person. The problem with that is that sometimes the albums of the more obscure bands can be absolutely painful to find.
If you want a rambling list of only a few of the people that make my musical day: Pink Floyd (Who doesn't like them? If you are one of them, welcome to the minority.) King Crimson (Most inconsistent sounding band ever to have existed. But oh-so good.) Emerson, Lake and Palmer (I happen to like their "too many notes" but god! CORNY. LYRICS. AHOY.) Alan Parsons/Alan Parsons Project (My guilty pleasure) Yes (Need to listen more from them but I am liking what I am hearing. "Heart of the Sunrise" is an amazing 11-minutes of song.) Kate Bush (Some of her stuff. Her album "Hounds of Love" I've really been able to digest in whole) Saga (Some of their songs are pretty bleh compared to the likes of say, King Crimson, but there is this nostalgic appeal about them.)
I've been trying to find albums by the likes of Hawkwind, Gentle Giant and Van der Graaf Generator without too much luck because I hear from the grapevine of progressive fans that these fellows are good. Watch me pout.
On a random note, progressive rock is technically dead, having been usurped by its opposite, punk rock. Punk rock is okay. I guess. It's not exactly my cup of tea but in some cases, it will do.

Most of the bands I like are pretty obscure, but there's Ween, The Dead Milkmen, Dead Kennedys, Mojo Nixon, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and The Cramps.
More well known would be The Beatles, Weird Al Yankovic, The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Devo.

I've actually heard of Ween before. They did the song "Loop De Loop" for the SpongeBob series and "Ocean Man" for the SpongeBob movie.
