OBITUARIES:June 26, Megaman Legends Expansion is pronounced dead at 7:49 PM by Detective Fab. Shortly afterwards, MML:EX was buried in the Main Gate and its discussion board was locked and now sits as a reference for all... This is a very sad week...

Ehh.. I respect the people who worked on MMLEX for the fact that they tried and kept trying for so long, but I think the whole thing was a little over their heads. It seemed like once in a long while a big breakthrough would happen, followed by another long while of seemingly no activity whatsoever. Hands changed a few times, I think they even started over once or twice.. It's sad, but you kind of had to know this was coming. (unless a wicked lot of progress was being made behind the scenes the whole time..) Sorry, MMLEX guys. It was fun while it lasted.

I guess I have to post in this thread. MMLEx, truly, as been dead for about 2 years. That's the point in which I started going into "Do anything to get it done" mode. In which, I failed miserably at putting any semblance of the project together. It was over our head from day 1, and the fact it got as far as it did is nothing less than a small miracle. Considering it today, two people who've never worked on a "real" project decide to make a 3D project. The behind the scenes thing is true, but a lot of dumb mistakes were made. Back in the day of the A6 engine, a good few months were spent trying to fix a slowdown problem caused by texture resolutions being too high. We never figured out how to program decent AI. We never fixed Collision detection. Really? The demos that did get out were a bunch of hacks put together to make the engine not crash every five minutes. If I may ask of this, I'd like everyone to forget the time after the last release, as it's sad really, to see how desperate I was to keep alive a project that was dead. Ta Ta MMLEx, I knew thy well. And no, I don't plan on ever reviving it... Then again I don't plan on a lot of things.

The thing that really brought me into this project was the demo you released like a year ago, it provided a ruin and some water to jump into and I thought it was a real nice little piece of software, too bad I don't have it because I got a new computer but... that was a promising demo

Perhaps you'll be more able to make attempts at a project like MMLEX if you work your way up from smaller projects? You guys did some pretty cool stuff; it would be neat to see something, perhaps less intense, from ya's. (btw, ‘thy’ is possessive; you were looking for ‘thee.’)

I'm working on getting better on all fronts so I can do little pet projects. But, let me be honest, I'm tired of working with other people. I'm not a great leader, and people aren't good followers. The key to a great project is to find people that you can trust to do whatever you need. There are only a handful of people I can trust in any project.
For those of you interested, I will be compiling every single version of MMLEx (Private releases and public releases) with developer commentary and various other notes, and hosting them on a server for download. Hopefully that will give those of you who care a bit more indepth look at MMLEx's development and progress. I'll also release the source code from the last release if it can be recovered. That is all for now!

For some reason, i feel like if i've heard this before... You're probably my forsaken lost brother.
