In other news, some McDonalds people managed to stuff six nuggets into a tiny box that was clearly marked "4". I thought that was amusing, and enjoyed the extra snackage. It was one of those McDonalds that had their 4 piece on the dollar menu too and surprisingly, that was the only thing that was derped on my order. Plain McChicken, McDouble only ketchup, and the fries. All spot on. I wish I got extra nuggets more often.
Just in case anybody was curious, I ordered that just before the beginning of my hour and a half drive to my classes. I can easily eat all of that on the way up, since I usually skip breakfast. It sucks driving that long thrice on a weekly basis. :01:

Who doesn't love free stuff? In my recent case, it was a matter of free money. During the lunch period, I decided to walk down to the local supermarket and buy a four-pack of donuts. Once I got to the self-checkout, I scanned them and inserted a Euro coin. However, the checkout read it as a two-Euro coin, instead.
I got a free pack of donuts and one whole extra cent!

Well I eat McDonalds often and never get anything extra. What I do get (as some iscribble buddies know) is NO chicken in my damn Chicken caesar salad! Twice! If they do it again I'll hurt them!

Reminds me of the time I heard some drunk lady went nuts in at McD drive-thru. The way I heard it, she came during breakfast hours, and she ordered chicken nuggets. The staff told her, they don't serve nuggets during that time, but she went ballistic- she attacked the folks doing the window registers, it took a number of employees to fend off her one-armed assault. She left, but not before taking out a heavy object and smashing the window in retaliation. A happy meal that was not... :11: Well I eat McDonalds often and never get anything extra. As far as extra McDonalds things go, the only thing I ever get extra without my consent is egg on my breakfast sandwich. This is not a good thing though. I don't like eggs at all and it's a pain to get that sulfuric aftertaste out once it's been cooked with the egg on it.
I did have a lot of luck with a specific puzzle ball machine outside my local grocery store when I was a kid, but that was because the machine was broken and would only dispense puzzle balls if you didn't put money in. Eventually somebody tried to pay and the whole thing jammed. There's always gotta be that one person who ruins it for everyone, eh?

Well, can you blame 'em? They must've not known the trick. So...what's a puzzle ball, anyway? =p
You know, Disney, Nick, and Cartoon Network have all gone downhill in my opinion, but Cartoon Network seems to still be pretty good. Boomerang has a great lineup and some of the new shows-Gumball, Regular Show, and Adventure Time, to be more specific-are pretty neat. In comparison, Nick isn't all that great and Disney is...well, compared to how it was before, utter trash. Yep, I said it. I can't be sure what I think about Phineas and Ferb, but...whatever...
And on that note, why the heck am I so into old cartoons lately anyway?

Meh. The quality standard of Cartoon Network's shows has just plummeted through the ground in recent years. It's truly sad. You've got either the complete and utter crap that only turns kids into insufferable little monsters, or the cartoons that are trying way too hard to capture the essence of what made the older ones great. Kinda like a mid-life crisis. :12:
That's my view of it, anyway.

Kyle, your old man glasses are rose colored. ;D 90's cartoon's are pretty good but not significantly better than today's shows. Adventure Time is actually becoming my second favorite cartoon show of all time. It's smart, stupid, funny and sometimes sad. Plus basicly any demographic that watches cartoons has something to enjoy in it. That being said, the end all be all is Batman:TAS. Nothing has ever come close to being as good.

I used to love CN, Nick, and Disney back in the days. ABC Family, too, back when it was Fox Family. I remember watching Dexter's Lab, Ed Edd & Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, all the great Cartoon Cartoon stars. Good times, good times. I think my favorite programming back when I was a kid was to watch Fox Kids around 2000, 2001. I used to watch the hell out of Digimon & Digimon 02 (I never liked Tamers, but I was okay with Frontier), Transformers Robots in Disguise, and the original Power Rangers seasons before Disney acquired the franchise. Oh, and the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series was excellent and is still one of my favorite depictions of Michelangelo ever.

Digimon Frontier...I used to watch that every single night. That's probably the part of my childhood I remember most. In fact, the only reason I watched Pinky and the Brain was so I would be on the same channel and wouldn't miss a second of Digimon Frontier. =p But yeah, I guess I ended up liking that show too.
In fact, I'm not sure what happened to the cartoon channels. For a while, my mom and I lived at my grandma's house and we shared a room and she always hogged the TV (at least she ensured I never missed Modern Family. =p), so I stopped watching cartoons or anything for months. Just recently, we moved and...well, they all changed.

I remember getting up really early in the morning to watch Street Sharks, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, Biker Mice From Mars, Bobby's World, etc.
And before that there was Camp Candy, Captain Planet, K-CAL Kids (classic Disney shorts ftw), etc..
And coming home on school days to watch Disney Afternoon (Gummi Bears, Tailspin, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, ftw), Extreme Dinosaurs, Eekstravaganza, the oft-derided "Na-na-na-na-Ninja!" live action Ninja Turtles, Sam and Max, VR Troopers, Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad, Batman:TAS, The New Adventures of Batman and Robin, Life With Louie, etc..
And then the next era, with Disney's Doug, Pepper-Ann, Recess, Batman Beyond, Godzilla, MIB, okay this is getting tiring...

These are puzzle balls. They were kind of useless because whenever they smacked into anything they'd fall apart and you'd have to put them back together, but you can't really knock free. I'm with Fatman as far as Digimon goes. Loved the first two seasons, couldn't get into Tamers, thought Fronteir was palatable. I wish they'd given Tommy and JP more screentime, though. JP because he was awesome, and Tommy because he had great taste in hats. The first two seasons balanced their characters better. Also, fun fact--I watched the entire first season of Digimon on a tiny black and white TV with an antenna because it came on when my sister wanted to watch something lame. Then I went to my friend's house and watched it in color and found myself completely blown away because I didn't imagine it to be that colorful. I wonder if old people reacted that way back when color TV was first introduced. Generally, cartoons in the 90s were more well-written, but there are a few exceptions to the rule these days. Like Avatar (though I don't think Korra captured the charm as well). I like Gravity Falls a lot now. Even though Dipper sounds a little too old to really pass for twelve. That and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic...wherever the third season is. :17:

I like Korra because she's a girl and she has attitude, and she's much more interesting to watch than Aang #ifyouknowwhatImean. But I don't think I'm shallow for it... Korra>Katara all the way. It seems like the pacing is a bit too fast, though. =(

Digimon Frontier was a highlight of my childhood that I won't ever forget. I actually enjoyed waiting for each episode when it came on Jet-X [raise your hand if you remember that.] every day till the end of the series. I recently rewatched it and I was pretty amazed at how lighthearted it was. Virtually blew my mind, really. Avatar's a series that's still being replayed on my DirectTV Network to this day. They've played episodes of Korra, and although it's nice that there's a sequel, It's just... Avatar (though I don't think Korra captured the charm as well). Which is a real pity. But as for Avatar, I love the series to death. Part of me's a bit disappointed that the Legend of Korra wound up being a sequel though, I would've loved a few more episodes of the Original Avatar itself to pave the path for the future rather than a whole new series taking root 100 (or some odd) years in the future, starring another Avatar, with flashbacks as the only indication as to what happened in that timespan. Biggest of buzzkills. Korra>Katara all the way. If you say so. But Korra is so much of a knock-off of Katara, it's almost laughable. The Sequel's never as good as the original. Although, if the climax of LoK winds up being that Katara's a super queen of the Water Nation bent on dousing out the Fire Nation and eventually overtaking the Earth and Air nations and it's Korra's job to stop her, then I'd consider watching the series... Oh the humanity hilarity. Big Katara fan here.
