Haha I just had this feeling Disgaea had an anime series and it does have! According to Anime news network (www.animenewsnetwork.com) it will be released spring 2006 (they said America others said Japan) go to youtube (www.youtube.com) and search for disgaea you will see some of anime videos and a disgaea 2 anime trailer? well I think so. (I'm also shocked to see Flonne now as demon )

I had planned to make a topic about it earlier myself. I'm incredibly excited about the anime, especially because, get this: In a Gamespot review, the producer said that the show IS coming to North America, and it's sometime around summer (maybe even spring)! I couldn't have asked for better news! Besides all of that, the trailer is just plain awesome, and there's tons of new Nippon Ichi games coming out to buy (Disgaea 2, Generation of Chaos, Atelier Iris 2). I still hold to my theory that Nippon Ichi is the best thing in the world. Also, I'll mention that right now, you can enter the "Random Name Campaign" for Disgaea 2! This allows you to enter 5 names which will appear on random enemies and will be options as random names for your own characters. After submitting 5, make sure to check back on the site a while later. They will update with a list of names, and you can vote for the ones you like best. Check this page for more details: www.nisamerica.com/news/20060223.html.

I know nothing about Disgaea, but I do hope that all of this turns out to be a success. If it's released on either Cartoon Network or Kids WB, it'll most likely bomb... But, if they manage to release it on Adult Swim, then I'd imagine much potential from it. Adult Swim's animes are all giant successors, as they have the best translators and scriptors. Full Metal Alchemist, Paranoia Agent, Evangelion: The Stand Alone Complex, Cowboy Bebop, even Inuyasha (though it needs to stop. It's so repeatative now, it's annoying) They just always do a great job at finding the best translators and voice actors.

And oh yeah...it only has 12 episodes if I got a chance I'll buy it somewhere here...I hope they got a copy also. well wish me luck by the way if they dub it to english will they be the same like Flonne's voice in the game is still Flonne's voice in the anime? ...Hope so. EDIT: Oh yeah the release in japan is summer but I want to watch it right away...I'm such an anime fanatic.

After playing through most of the game, I am looking forward to the anime. 12 episodes fits well... one for each of the in-game chapters. I don’t know how interesting it will be as a show instead of a game, but I’m willing to watch it. The short sword fight between Laharl and Vyers was neat anyway. I don’t see many fight scenes I like these days.
Just thought I’d put it out there, since this appears to be the only Disgaea thread around, that there seems to be a dub of the first anime trailer going around now. You can find it on YouTube if you like. A fan work, I believe. The voices are pretty bad, but hey, they tried. And as far as fan works go, the audio is very smooth and fluent. And translations are translations.
There is also the Disgaea 2 opening up for viewing. Or so the file name claims. I’m worried about it; the original characters don’t seem to be very prominent in it. Still, it’s something else you might want to consider looking at if you’re interested.

Two words. PRINNIES, DOOD. Seriously, they are the backbone of all things Disgaea.

Oh yeah, I didn't want to make another thread seperately for it, so I'll say it here: apparently, despite the fact that Disgaea 2 has not even met its US release date yet, a Disgaea 3 is scheduled to be put in the works. Great news for us Disgaea fans. ^_^ Here's an article concerning it: RPGamer articleOn another note, the release date is August for the US Disgaea 2, for those who were not yet aware. I'm still waiting for an announcement on where the Disgaea anime will end up.
