Since there is an Jak and Daxter theard, there should be an R&C theard too. So does anybody play R&C. I have every single one of the games and they are awesome. Plus it is they Best platformer on the PS2.

I played Up Your Arsenal and Deadlocked. I personally thought both had ups and downs. Anyway, it is a great way to play if you're not looking for puzzles and ARE looking for trying the same thing over and over, typical platformer style. Favorite weapon overall... the Multi-Disk Launcher's pretty stylish, but the Arbiter has my heart. ^_^
The Ratchet series was way better than Jak, in my opinion. I played the first Jak the whole 9 yards through, then apparently he turned to a life of crime and questionable motives. HE WAS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN! Stay in school kids.

R&C was arguably better than the Jak and Daxter games. One thing I appreciated was that Insomniac didn't try to make their hero turn into some cliche cold-hearted badarse, like what happened with Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Jak2/3.
One of the few games my mom stuck with were the first 3 Ratchet and Clank games. Rightfully so, because they're some of the best platformers I've played. R&C 2 was the first in the series to feature a weapon level-up system, which was improved and expanded in the third. And the R&C games did feature a few puzzles, mainly having to do with opening/activating things.
Lava/Liquid Nitrogen Gun > Rift Inducer > Others > Suck Cannon (which, in my opinion, lived up to its name). Although, it really depends on opinion. All of my family had difficulty using the Lava Gun in R&C3. Really worth it at highest level, 1 hit kill on most enemies.
Also, I heard Deadlocked was mainly just arena battles and mission-esque things. Is that true? I was kinda hoping for more storyline developing, but I always liked 1 and 2's arena battles.

One thing I appreciated was that Insomniac didn't try to make their hero turn into some cliche cold-hearted badarse, like what happened with Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Jak2/3. Indeed. Very much indeeds. I didn't like the Lava Gun at all. Well, it's good for the arena matches where tons of enemies are coming at you at once, but I only got it late into the game and by that point, even at level 10 (I'm aware there are higher levels T_T) it doesn't seem to pack enough firepower to take the enemies that really matter out. Rift Inducer is awesome by definition. I'll admit the Suck Cannon is... limited use, but you don't have to pay for its ammunition and if used in an area with lots of tiny enemies or crates, you can do some fairly decent damage. Now when they say "arena only", don't get the idea that it's only Anhialation Nation type matches. Many of the arenas are set up as more complex challenges, albeit not quite as expansive as RC3's levels. I would definitely suggest trying it. Admittedly, Captain Quark doesn't make any major appearance in it, so it does kinda lose points for that, but if you liked skins in the previous games you'll love them here. Cheats are much easier to get. The game does have a story, it's just definitely not quite as impressive.

You get the Harbinger, though. It fires down tons of lasers where your shots hit. It's pretty cool, but I didn't really have time to train it. I never got to try the RYNO.

I never got to try the RYNO. Neither did I. Maybe one of these days I should load up Mom's old save file and try to get it. And I have been to the Insomniac Museum on R&C3. It was actually pretty interesting. I don't get what's up with all of the ramps for the Gravity Boots, though (I think that's what they're called). I particularly enjoyed the custom Hacker puzzle station.

I finally got the first Ratchet and Clank game for Christmas, and I really enjoyed it. When I get enough money, I plan to get Going Commando, and probably the rest eventually. In R&C, I didn't get any of the gold bolts, and didn't bother getting the RYNO, not at the price it was at. =P I have to say though, compared to all of the other bosses, the last boss' difficulty came out of nowhere(I used so much ammo until I bought the Telsa Claw).
Since I've played all of the Jak games and only one Ratchet game, I can't really make a comparison.
