Click here for the official Web SiteIt's a downloadable service that lets you download games from any console, arcade, or computer. GameTap just needs to get the rights to emulate the software and you download it from them. It's supposedly a monthly fee and you can download all you want. It has everything from Pac-Man to Splinter Cell. And even new games will be avialable after they are out a few months. I'm sure the real popular ones will take awhile to get on there(since The Big Three will be reluctant to give up their cash cows) but they have promised a library that never stops growing. They still haven't released the official luanch list but I know it has Pitfall, the Pac-Mans, Splinter Cell, Grandia, and a some others. The wed site has a video that shows a few. It's owned by Turner Broadcasting(so it is a legit business, well, if you could call Ted Turner legit) and they wanted to provide the video game industry other ways to make money. You see, the box office only gives the movies a small percenatge of the money it earns. A large sum is made with DVDs and videos. So Turner wants to give the game industry another way to make money beside it's regular game sells... Though they failed to mentioned how much money they will make. This could be a great way to get games we lost, can't find, or all ways wanted to play.

Hmm... why does this sound so familiar...? I can't put my finger on it....
Oh right, it's another of Nintendo's ideas being cheesily taken by another company... big surpriseUgh... nevermind. I don't wanna start a discussion about that anyway.

Emulate? So, you can download these games to play on a PC? Now, if it was something that, say, allowed you to download directly to the council or burn the information to play on a council, I might have been interested, but I hate playing console games on a PC. It’s just not how the world was meant to be.
... Or am I thinking of something else? Sorry, I’ve never exactly been an expert on the field of emulators...

Emulators run on PCs, but you can buy adapters to plug regular controllers in and use them. I have one for Playstation. Cost me like $10(the controller adapter). And if you really wanna enhance the emulating experience, you can actually plug some computers into a TV via some sorta S-video cable or something like that. I only use emulators for getting screenshots though. git as many adapters and whatnot as you want, it still wouldn't be the same.

Ha! They announced this service before E3 05. Which is where Nintendo said they where giving you the downloadable service. Besides, even if they did copy it for them the revos service is limited to NES, SNES, and N64. And as much as I love those systems there are alot of games that you'll be missing out on.
I also don't enjoy PC gaming as much as console but it's mostly because of the chair. Plus the screen is alittle too close. But that is easily remedied.

I said forget it, you... nevermind, whatever. iirc, emulation can never really be as good as playing on the console. I'm not quite sure why, but I think I read that somewhere. I dunno maybe that was about downloaded music(so many things being downloaded these days! >.<). I somehow doubt they'll be as good as the games on console, but I guess it'll be aa nice way for all these youngin's to get a taste of good gaming(of course if they want the best gaming, they'll have to get a Revolution, but yeah.)
