At my school the PSP isn't doing too well. Everyone's got DS's. Nintendo's actually got a pretty good online thing going! If this keeps up with the Revolution, they just might pull ahead in the console wars. I can't imagine MS coming out with a handheld system that's as powerful as a Nintendo handheld and doesn't cost a fortune.

I'm sorry to inform you, but the Revolution will not pull ahead in the Console war. Why?
Microsoft - Halo 3
PS3 - MGS4
Revolution - Nada
Sure, they have a Zelda game coming out. BUT, it's on the GC. Doesn't count for the next Gen system battle.

Crap, this is turning into another System Wars...which is surprisingly like watching rabid football fans. You have the people who just like watching the game, the people who obsess over one team and stop watching football when they lose, and the people who can't stand a certain team and only watch because they want to see that team get their butt handed to them by somebody--ANYBODY--else. I can honestly say I'm of the third type when it comes to system wars. Sure, I like Nintendo. But I'm more of a MS hater than a Nintendo fanatic. I don't like Microsoft's attitude toward gaming at all. It shames the gaming industry...Sony's not much better. Game consoles are turning into PCs for the TV. Gaming is taking a backseat to other things. People are more concerned about a system's specs than anything. Don't count Nintendo out just yet. Just because they're keeping their mouths shut doesn't mean they don't have any plans. Halo 3? That means absolutely nothing if you don't like shooters. I've played Kameo: Elements of Power, and it's honestly not Rare's best work. Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie and DK64 were a thousand times more entertaining. I've played Fable, their horrid excuse for an "RPG." Total crap. Voice acting's crap, story's crap, level-up system's crap, character designs are crap, the list goes on and on. Sure, the 360's going to have some Japanese developers making actual quality games, but they just don't add up. As for the PS3, sure Metal Gear's good, but what else do they have? And that blue-ray technology's not cheap! The price of the PS3 alone will probably turn away a lot of fans. A lot of people I know didn't buy a PSP simply because it was way too expensive. They got a DS instead, and they love it because they can walk into a McDonalds and play Mario Kart for free. Sony's never really had good online service. Microsoft's clearly superior online, but as I said before, that means nothing if you don't like "boys' games." So. There's my long, biased, MS-bashing post for this week.

EDIT: I sarted writing before Dashes last post but finished after it. So I'll address some of the stuff she said now.
Aaaa la la la la System Wars Aaaa la la la la la
Well since I got that out of my system(wars). I'll say that Nintendo has said many times that they do not want to be pulled into the same bloody battle that Microsoft and Sony are in. Thats why they are making that controller the way it is. They are trying to pull in the people that don't go "OMG Halo is teh awsom"(Dash). They want the whole family... NOT JUST KIDS!!!! EVERYBODY!!!!
If you ask your parents if they want to play that game they'd say they don't get it. But if you play by pointing and moving then they'll atleast try it.
Edit CONT': If you want to talk about gaming taking a back saet then talk about the N-Gage. The PS2 does more than play games but it still has amazing games. So it's not fair to bash them for having extra features(unless ofcourse if you'r just talking about the price, which does shoot much hire because of the extras).
In the end it's all YOUR PREFERENCE!!!!!!! Some people have that kiddy game phobia so they don;t like Nintendo and some people couldn't care less about sports and shooters so they hate Microsoft. PERIOD.
No I'm not angry just "into" this system wars thingy(if you couldn't tell from before)

Dashe, you're starting to sound like Chiz. He's stuck with the older games. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's 2006. Society as we know it is trying to be more futuristic. As for the consoles having more features than gaming, who cares?
PS2 has CD player, DVD player, PS1/PS2 game player. Now if you want to bash Sony for having too many features, then allow me to pwn you. Same thing with the PSP, yeah it has extra features, but it still plays games. And even more so, they're putting PS1 games on the PSP. All the awesome PS1 games will eventually be put on there, so please don't try and bash Sony for having "extra" features when they're just that, extra features.
Xbox - CD player, DVD Player (which is optional), Hard drive/Able to store music and their game player of course. Sure, you don't like Halo? Play Ninja Gaiden, you probably wouldn't even get half-way through the game. Even for myself, that game is insanely hard and I'm only on Normal mode. I'm frankly too scared to even attempt Hard. But that's besides the point, the game f'ing rules. Why? Because you play as a Ninja, what else could beat that? And oh yes, it's NOT a FPS.
GC - Game player. Yeah, it has some cool games, but that's it. Unless you're a diehard gamer, you're not going to enjoy the GC a whole lot.
My point is this, people want extra features. And the companies are going to give their fans what they want. It's pretty much useless to argue that games are taking the back-burne, when they're not.
I think I ranted on for a little too much >.> I didn't touch on the next Gen consoles because it's pretty much the same thing. The only difference is that the Revolution will have a counter-part from which you can link up and play old GC games on. Whoopie? Just fecking use your GC for GC games.

I'm not saying that extra features are bad, just that as of late, they're starting to become more important than the games! Same thing with specs...whenever a new console comes out, people just jump right into comparing the specs. Personally, I don't understand specs in the least! I just want a company that I know is going to make games that I like. Nintendo is nice and reliable in that sense--you've got Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and the like. Sony is nice and reliable in that sense as well. Final Fantasy, anyone? Microsoft...? Nada. One Ninja game isn't gonna sway my view of the company one bit. If I had a system with the XBox and the 360's power, I'd put that hard drive to good use and make a game like RPG Maker for it, or just stick on this insanely long RPG with 16 bit graphics and sound, giving it the best story possible. I wouldn't concentrate on making uber-realistic-looking graphics and top-notch sound...I'd take the extra memory and potential and channel it into gameplay. Microsoft just doesn't do that. They produce lousy games that look pretty.
And while we're on the subject of price, I think the PS3's exorbitant price is going to definitely hurt Sony. Not everyone in the world's going to be able to shell out $500, even if they do think Metal Gear is "teh awesome." XBOX360's not cheap either. Revolution? Affordable. The DS's Wi-Fi's pretty darn good (especially since you don't have to pay for service every month *glares at Sony*) and the thought of being able to download older Nintendo games I didn't get to play when I was a kid really appeals to me.
The fact that the Revolution will be backwards compatible, IMO, means that you can SELL your GCN and get some cash to buy more games. If you had the choice between having a console that plays Revolution AND Gamecube games versus one that only plays Gamecube games, which would you pick?
