Sony doesn't brag? -cough-"I believe we've made the most beautiful thing in the world", "The Square button doesn't work on purpose"-cough- lol All companies brag, it's really just different things they like to boast. Nintendo brags about all their innovative ways to play - though as has been mentioned somewhere else here I think, they really don't promote they're coolest stuff enough. Sony's always bragging about all that extra crap that no gamer needs. Microsoft, being a computer company, they brag about their system specs. So what if it's big.. is that really any reason to not like a system? I dunno, dude, if the games are good, I'd think you'd be able to make room for the console. Also, they're all far from the same thing. While yes, there are quite a few third party games that've made multi-console releases, there're a few exclusive titles - particularly when it comes to the Gamecube, if I'm not mistaken - on each system.

Wow, I'll try and keep this short.
XBOX is great for people who like competative games like sports, shooters, and fighting games. A Metroid Prime would not survive on that console. The best thing about XBOX is its online component. It really is good and it makes most game alot more enjoyable. Thats why there aren't that many RPGs on that system and thats why it has only amassed alot of success here in America. They are allowed to brag. But only about certain things.
They said that they will have the best list of launch games ever lined up for the 360. That is bull on the highest level. Their list gets blown to pieces by Sonys list. because Sony didn't just pile up a bunch of sequels, though they did do that(DMC4, Tekken, Gundam, and much much more!!!), but they also announced alot of fresh games that looked extremely good. They where obviously counting their chickens before they hatched.
As for the other stuff like DVD player and what not. To me it doesn't matter. Think of of the companies(Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) as bording houses. The people living there are the games available for that system. I don't vist people I don't like even if their house has AC or big screen televisions(the extra stuff, DVDs). Luckily the Sony house has alot of stuff so I get to hang around with my favorite people(play my fav. games) and enjoy a few creature comforts(watch DVDs). Now, if my best friends move to another house I'll will start visiting that new house. No matter what stuff they have at that house. That simple. So don't bash Sony for adding those stuff becuase they get the video game side of it down.
Not too long, huh?

I enjoy RPGs a LOT. I don't like shooters, sports games, fighting games, and most action games. They're at the bottom of my "list of genres, listed in preferred order from favorite to least favorite." I never did like multiplayer games. Since XBox is so big on its mulltiplayer stuff, the only thing I could possibly use an XBox for is as a doorstop or stepstool.
Gamecube and Playstation, however, DO cater to my gaming preferences. Even though they make lousy doorstops (though the gamecube might not make a bad stepstool for those just-out-of-reach places), they have a nice, diverse library, (especially the PS2, but Gamecube does have mature titles). If Microsoft made a cutesy, anime-style RPG with an interesting story and well-developed characters that didn't contain excessive violence, foul language, and explicit, mature content, I MIGHT consider buying one. Sure, XBox has great specs, but it'll never be everything it could be until it puts a little more variety into its games. It seems like every Xbox title stars a big, ugly guy carrying some kind of large firearm and has waaaaaaay too much blood and gore for my tastes.
Now, what I've always wanted to see on Xbox is a seemingly endless RPG with 16-or-32-bit graphics and old-school sound effects...there'd be so much room on the hard drive that it could go on forever and ever and ever and ever and...

I have always held the opinion that the Xbox was made for males who are casual gamers. The majority of the Xbox's game library consists of FPS's, sports games, and war games. Of course the PS2 also offers all of these things, but the casual gamer is also generally a stupid consumer.
The only Xbox-exclusive games that have ever been on my "must own" list are Shenmue 2 and Fable, the latter of which is coming out on the PC, so it may as well be discounted. And speaking of the PC, it does a much better job with gaming than the Xbox, in my opinion.
I do have to give Microsoft credit for Xbox Live, however, which has been an amazing success and caused online play for consoles to take off. Even if I still think it's kind of a stupid idea. But some of the online content Nintendo is thinking of offering makes me thankful that the Xbox made the concept so popular.

I don't really like Xbox:
That mostly sums it up. I prefer Gamecube, it's got lots of great multiplayer action and a wide library of games that doesn't have to involve ugly people and excessive violence.

sorry i said all that but xbox brags the most its true!!!! ... o.o I didn't think it was possible to be more arrogant than to have a fault in your product pointed out to you and say it's there on purpose, following up to say that your product is the most beautiful thing in the world(Sony on the issue of the PSP's faulty square button). Has Microsoft created a gaming console that doesn't work, and claimed to have done so on purpose? o.O This is why you shouldn't pay attention to advertisements. Look at consumer reviews of things; their opinions are the ones that really matter anyway.

I have no problem with the XBOX. I do have a wealth of problem with the 360. "Best list of luanch games ever"--Bull.
What I hate about the 360 coming out so soon is: Nobody ever said that an XBOX game was bad because of the graphics. It was always "It looks great but theres nothing new or intresting anout the way it plays". So why, I ask you, are they Pushing to have the 360 out so early. "More technology, More power", why? you got enough now. It's just going to cost gamers much much more to play a game they could of played on your first system. With the system costing $400 and then puting 60 more for just one game(yes its not 50 anymore) at luanch. It's for the money and I can't stand it.
Sony is the one that needs to have their PS3 out this November. Many of their games suffer from the lack of power from their system. But they are waiting till spring next year. Sony might be bastartd but they're not crooks. And I know some one could counter that with the price tag of the PSP but its meant as a portable media center. If you want that, buy it. If you don't buy the DS. They it know it's like that and they don't sell it anyother way.

Well, even if it IS coming out in November, I'm still not getting a 360. I like my RPGs, thank you very much, and if I really want a stepstool so I can reach the cookie jar on top of the fridge, I'll use one of my friends' XBOXes, because nobody I know uses theirs for gaming. No sense shelling out big bucks for something I'm going to stand on top of to get snacks before dinnertime, especially since dictionaries are just as thick and cost way less, and those don't have any decent video games in their library either.
Actually, I PREFER reading the dictionary to playing FPS's and sports games. But then agian, it's just my opinion, and I'm going to stick by it until XBOX gets a nice, nonviolent, addictive RPG in its repertoire.

Metroid Prime Hunters is a good FPS... the stylus usage is just utterly brilliant. Anywho, I agree that these companies should be a bit smarter about their release dates. Honestly, why make people wait? Tone down the stupid thing so that it can still play games and just release it already. It'd cut the cost of the darn things down too. Geez. Even when the next generation does come, I'm quite sure no one's going to be in possession of all 3 major consoles at once... ho boy.. if someone were to be, they'd either be uber spoiled or a thief!

here are some good and bad things about each console:
i think gamecube has the best games personally but the graphics arent nearly as good
the ps2 buttons dont get stuck nearly as much as the xbox'sbackand start buttons
xbox doesnt have that many good games but the graphics are really good
(and the analog stick on the psp sucks and metroid prime hunters hurts my hand with the stylus and pushing it around)
and of course it being friekin huge matters!! i always have to move it around cuz i dont have enuff TV's
