Who here likes/has played/wants to play/owns a home copy of/is really good at DDR? I personally LOVE DDR and own all the PS2 versions as well as Konamix. It's such a fun game! I'd have to say, without a doubt, DDRMAX is the best version out there. My favorite songs on there are The Cube, Deep in You, Rugged Ash, Kind Lady, and, the absolute coolest song, Do It Right: 25 Step Harmonized Mix.
After reading Dashe's post in the EB Games/ Game Stop thread, I remembered how awesome Konami pads are. I've used mine ever since the release of DDR Extreme, which was last September I believe, and it doesn't have a single tear, unlike my half decent Game Stop brand dance pad. *lsigh* DDR.... It's a beautiful thing.......

Isn't it?
My favorite songs include both mixes of "Look to the Sky," "My Generation," "Midnite Blaze," "Dive," "Burning Heat," "Break Down," "Rhythm and Police," "Butterfly," "Boom Boom Dollar," and countless others that I can't quite remember at the moment.
I also enjoy "Matsuri Japan," but mostly because I think it's pretty funny. And I'm really, REALLY good at "In the Navy" on Heavy mode, but I don't particularly care for the song itself.

OMG, I LOVE BOTH MIXES OF LOOK TO THE SKY, MY GENERATION, MIDNITE BLAZE, DIVE, AND BURNING HEAT!!!! I completely forgot about those! The one song that I really love but can never quite be right is Xenon. In Standard, it's just too hard. Oh, and I completely forgot to say what difficulty to play! I'm inbetween Standard and Heavy. I could probably do all songs on Standard and some songs are too easy if they're not on Heavy.
As for the versions, I don't really like Konamix cause of how it's set up and the song choices. I like more of a techno mix which is why MAX is so good. The thing that I didn't like about MAX2 was way too much R&B and Extreme had too many stupid licensed songs. Max just has a ton of good songs, good menu set up, but an absence of Beginner mode which is bad when I play with my DDR-lacking friends.
Exteme though is probably my second fave. A totally totally totally rules, B4U challenge is such fun, Move Your Feet has an awesome video, MOBA MOGA is also fun and challenging, Waiting for Tonight is just awesome, There You'll Be is fast paced, and Simply Being Loved is a nice cool down. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT GOOD SONGS.
Oh, and I'd have to say my best DDR accomplishment is getting an A on Sandstorm Heavy which is an 8 foot rating.

I don't like the abundance of R&B in MAX2 either, but the mix of "Kind Lady" they played when the credits rolled was amazing--I wish they could have let you play it! I play a mix of standard and heavy also, and I've been working on Kakumei on heavy. Every time I play DDRMAX2 I have to get myself another AA on "In the Navy." And I forgot about "Take me Away," which is a good song even if they used to play it during Jimmy Neutron commercials on Nickelodeon.

I played it once. It's obviously one of those thing you need to get use to. It was very hard for me even though it was just the tutorial level. But then again I never tried dancing before and on top of that I'm fat. Still, I know some fat guys who are pretty nimble on their feet. Inculding me, but only with Tae kwon do, not with techno dancing.

Wow, I'm reviving threads like crazy! BUT, this is a fair revival just like my MMZ revival. DDR: Extreme 2 has come out and I've had it for a week now.
Improvements: -70+ songs! -46+ of the songs need to be unlocked (you start out with only 24 songs. This could be a bad thing to a lot of people, but in my opinion, it's good because it delays gratification and gives more play time to it). -Dance Master Mode: this is a lot like the Mission Mode in DDR: Extreme game, but a lot better. You unlock a lot more songs with it (actually, I don't believe you unlocked anything special from Mission Mode) in a cooler way. The way it is set up is kinda like a board game. You choose between two (sometimes three) starting missions. After you complete the task ahead of you, you are given two (again, sometimes three) more choices. You keep going until you reach the end (the way it ends is kind of ambiguous, but I believe is has something to do with getting to a song that doesn't make a new path.). You keep going and making new paths till a new board opens with tons more songs. But the greatest thing of all is that if you do good enough on certain missions, you unlock hidden missions that are much more challenging. During each mission, you unlock points that can be used at the shop. At the shop, you can actually pick which song you want to unlock. You can also buy different character costumes, different "Advanced Mode" (for DDR Alums, it is like Non-stop or Oni mode. For the un-initiated, it's like doing a whole bunch of different songs that are pre-selected in a row with no breaks) "courses". But my personal favorite thing you can buy is different arrow symbols. The one I've unlocked so far are butterflies. -Return of old favorites like Boom Boom Dollar, Butterfly, Cartoon Heroes, and Burnin' the Floor.
Bad Things: -In Dance Master Mode, the beginning songs are SO easy, you might be bored to tears. -Probably the biggest draw back.... there are like a whole bunch of liscensed songs. Jeez, Konami, you can't be any more original?
Other Things of Note: -Online Play: you can play against other people. -Eye Toy Support: yes, it comes back again and is supposedly better than before (I personally haven't checked it out yet).
My advice to people: if you're a DDR fanatic, the thing I'd tell you is get this if you're patient and are a true gamer where you have to unlock everything in a game. If you're a newbie to the series, DEFINATELY pick this up if you want to be a dance master soon enough!

Guess I'll put in my two cents about it. Okay. I'm REALLY skinny and out of shape. So, when my cousins came over and I heard they were honestly expecting me to play this, I'm pretty concerned. I own a copy of DDRMAX, which I'd never used the dance pad for, and I'd tried it once at an arcade... on a machine in the very back where nobody could see me. So, for the ENTIRE day I'm playing this, and mostly with the dance pad. It's actually really fun. I didn't feel anything until the next morning, and then for 2 or 3 days my calves were cramped. All I tried were light and heavy songs. There was one song in DDRExtreme (I think) that I can't remember, but it's my favorite. My favorites among DDRMAX are Mitsuri Japan (sp?) and that one Rhythm and Police song. While using the dance pad is a lot of fun, keep in mind using the controllers (while not as challenging) can be fun to. Hand-eye coordination and all.

Well PharaohFaced, I'm glad you previewed DDRExtreme 2... Because I don't think I'm gonna get it. I dunno. Maybe. Maybe not. (...Probably will, despite my better judgement. >_<) First of all, I generally HATE HATE HATE cover songs. Second, it's great that they're bringing back old songs that were on previous versions of DDR... EXCEPT THAT I OWN AND STILL PLAY ALL OF THEM. GOSH. If I want to play Boom Boom Dollar, I'll just pop in DDR USA! Tell us how the Eyetoy support is though. My Eyetoy needs more action. >_< P.S. My fave rave song is "Burnin' the Floor"

DDRness...gah, I haven't played in about 2 weeks now, but that's onyly cause I like playing at the arcade. Yay for the Extreme Machine!
My favorite songs are Cowgirl, A, Xenon, Can't stop Falling in love (Speed Mix), Senorita (Speedy Mix), Insertion, Tsugaru (Both mixes), B4U (Both mixes), Ecstacy, Witch Doctor, Paranoia Rebirth...I have more, I'm just too lazy to type them out. Either way, I can play all those on Heavy. In fact, I play mostly on Heavy anyways. xP

Yeah, I admit I've been waiting for Mario Mix too. When I played DDRE2 I was ecstatic to find Butterfly there, cause on all the arcade machines it was on DDR Extreme, and I got so frustrated looking for it on the console version only to find it wasn't there. And I also happen to like Boom Boom Dollar, and don't own DDR USA. Besides, the PS2 DDRs always seemed more receptive of Dance Mat commands than the PS1 DDRs to me.

Hey, I used to take French. I resent that. And Irresistiblement is a good song. But you're right about the Britney Spears. It's so retarded. And it's like, SLOW. I hate it. My friends and I played it once for a laugh but we couldn't take it. Obviously though, if you hate DDRE2 that much, you've never heard Butterfly. *Head shakes of disappointment*
