Alright, since I've recently been playing arcade games, I've decided to post this thing about what people's favorite arcade games are. Mine are Afterburner, Target: Terror, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, the Time Crisis games, and Revolution X.

This is a cool topic... My absolute favorite arcade games are light gun games. I'm really good at them these days... And I think what draws me to them is that I'm always improving my skills. I will never be good at Skiball or fighting games no matter how hard I try. But with light gun games, I can gauge my skill by how far I can go with just fifty cents. It's a challenge! It's the bomb!
There aren't too many light gun games I don't like... Except this one freaky-cheap Point Blank knock-off from Hong Kong I played one time. That was just whack. In fact, while I was playing, some toothless hillbilly even bothered to come up neck-breathingly close to me and tell me that it didn't look like a very fun game. That was, uh, freaky. Ninja Assault, while crazy hard, is one of my favorite games. The kickback on the guns is just like... The coolest, most arm-tiring thing ever. My favorite is probably the Point Blank series though, just because it's so wacky and fun, and yet shooting oriented. I haven't played Time Crisis but for one time. I sucked at it because it was back when I was really uncoordinated, but I really need to try giving it a shot again since I'm always hearing such great stuff about it.
And of course I play DDR like everyone else on the planet. I'm not really hardcore about it because I suck and it's kind of embarassing to play in public. But should I ever save up enough money for a hard pad for my home, I'll probably play all the time.
Rhythm action games rock my socks. The big arcade a ways out from me has a lot of import games from the Bemani series. I really like instrument driven games. Drummania kills me, but it's fun.
I don't get around the arcade enough... I really love to take a trip down there whenever I'm feeling crappy, take out my anger... I'd probably be a healthier person if I did (GO FIGURE)!

I don't think I even have an arcade anywhere around here. I haven't exactly checked though, so I can't be sure. I just never noticed one.... Well do Rockman: The Power Battle, Rockman 2: The Power Fighters, and Marvel Vs. Cacpom count? I've played those on the 'puter, and I played Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 at this one little fast food place. Power Battle/Fighters got old fast... I dunno, kinda redundant and repetitive... not much unique about it, but I guess that's how fighting games work. Marvel Vs. Capcom was wicked addicting. I played till I beat it as every character and every secret character(playing as Roll > j00). ...then I got bored with it and decided to just stop playing and deleted the files. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 was just so awesome it makes me sad beyond belief that the little fast food place rotated the games again so it doesn't have it anymore... Oh I also got addicted to playing Street Fighter 2 one time over the summer at this one camping place. It was pretty phun. I must beaten it as all the characters: Ryu, Ken, E. Honda, Dhalsim, Chun Li, Guyle(sp?), Zangief, Blanka, Vega, Balrog, Sagat, and M.Bison... I think that was all of them. Actually if I remember correctly I couldn't beat it on the arcade version, but I got the Sega version and then I was able to beat it.... Other than that I've been pretty arcade game-less...

I don't play many arcade games in the arcades. I'd prefer to snatch up some of the oldies from some Neo-Geo ROM site and fire'em up there. Metal Slug and SNK vs. Capcom Chaos anyone?
But... Altered Beast was the best, man. RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE.

Man, this is tough.
First of all, sorry Feldinaut, but the best light-gun games were for the NES. Not that that's a problem or anything.
All right, tough stuff here. Favorites are Donkey Kong, Super Pac-Man (you heard me), Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Marvel Vs. Capcom 1-2, Bionic Commando (completely different game in the arcade), Dynamite Dux, Run 'N Gun (arcade-style basketball), NFL Blitz.
That's all I can think of.

lol - favourite arcade game? That's hard...
Well...not to get killed by the Rockman Fanatic mob (I'm sure there's a few) I should mention MegaMan: The Power Battle, MM2: The Power Fighters, and the original MegaMan 3 for the PlayChoice-10. (Remembers the Capcom fighting games MegaMan & Company have been in)...those too...
As for my absolute favourite, nothing beats classics like DigDug, Bubble Bobble, OutRun, 1942 (1944 is a bit better), Pac-Man, Tetris...but, ya know, I'll play practically anything if I've got the MAME copy of it Proud owner of the complete MAME Ver95.1 romset...GO MAME!
That's about it...

That reminds me of a story.
I was on vacation in Arizona, and in the hotel they had an arcade... And Time Crisis 2... So I decided to go down there and play.
After about five minutes of play, I had a crowd of about 10 people watching me unload one clip in about one second... The funny thing is, I heard someone say, "Is that an automatic gun?"

I like the classics. Such as Pac Man! Ms. Pac Man is cool to, lets see I love Point Blank (1,2,3), and Dance Dance Revolution Max 2.

MvC2 is great because it may be the only arcade game I'm half decent at. Nearly right off, I choose Tron, and my luck changes: the first character I choose is ACTUALLY good.

Galaga is one of the few older arcade games that really got me hooked. In another funny coincedence involving my father, Dad was a pretty big Galaga fan, too. I've always loved light gun games, even way back in the Duck Hunt days. My friend keeps telling me that there's good ones for PS2, but I have yet to actually search. Fighting games. Never have I been a big fan of fighting games, in fact, I despise a few of them. But there's something I just can't dislike about the Tekken games. I suppose I really grew to like Tekken when I used to play Tekken 4 with my dad (I see a pattern here...). Well, as far as my actual arcade experiences go, I really haven't played arcade games much. In my town, we have this crappy wannabe arcade with some old Street Fighters, some decent sidescrolling shooters, and this one Mame machine set up to play Super Mario World, F-Zero, and some poorly done tennis game. I did once go to this one Namco sponsored arcade called Alladin's Palace with (guess who?) my dad, and they had DDR (Which I chickened out on and never played), one of the Time Crisis games (awesomely fun), a fighting game, (I don't remember what it was, but the second player joystick was screwed up and I couldn't move, but that was alright because I still whooped Dad and two cpus ;D), and this one bike racing game- with weapons (I don't remember exactly what it was called, but it was pretty interesting) among other games. I also vaguely remember some kind of game of reflexes. It had a jackpot, that paid off 100+ tickets. Basically, you had to stop some little light as it reached the target closest to you. The closer you got, you recieve 1-10 tickets, except when you stopped it exactly in the middle of your "range". Well, lucky me; I got it my first try and grinned sheepishly as the tickets spewed forth.

Does DDR count? It's the only game I really play in arcades...
