Emulators are generally free, and a giant source can be found at www.arcadeathome.com/console.phtmlOlder systems are usually emulated without error, but many of the newer systems (N64, PSX) are a bit of trial-and-error as to find an emulator that works with your computer, game, etc... As for roms to use with your emulator, those are highly illegal, so I might have the mods all over me if I started listing sites.

No, ROMS are not illegal, getting roms is illegal, though making them and not distribute them is perfectly legal.
And PSX and N64 emulators do a good job, there might be a few errors here and there but I play Legends 1 with no errors at all, on an emulator.
ALL emulators are free

www.rom-world.com/emulators.php This is mainly where I get all of my emulators. Hmmm.... I wonder what could be at the main site....? Well, I don't care for music downloading, but ROMs I don't seem to have a problem with cause they don't make any money off of the used games that we want at GameStop or whatever. Also, the games are out of production, so who really cares? Oh well...... (but seriously, that site rules). EDIT: Everything on that site is free.

The only emulator that is not free is manily the GBA. Nintendo realized that they had lost over 1 Million is sales due to the emulator and pattend it. I have a copy I can send you via email for free. The roms are still fre because nintendo owns the system, not the games.

Bios? is that what you mean?
I can get you one threw email... b-but i'm not sure if its legal, so if you need one just email me. legal wise, its possible to dump one, but i have no idea how. You may have to "google" this one.
Downloads online are fairly hard to find and illegal; an expirenced googler usually can find it.
EDIT: You cannot buy it
EDIT 2: Incase you get stuck on an emulator, plz try one on this list. ------------------------ The best emulators i've used so far: ------------------------ EPSXE 1.60(AWESOME!!!! PS1 And is the best emulator EVER!!! Email me if you need multiplayer, it is an extreme to find this online, since mostly japanese plugins are the only ones avalible besides cyberpad) PCSX2 0.7 Beta(PS2, Rund bios fast with good setup, boots some games) UltraNES(NES, Works great. No multiplayer, but more compatable than current ones which do.) ZSNES(Super NES. Perfect sound, great compatibility, and great multiplayer. What do i say?) SNES9(Most compatible ever, on occasion you may get sound errors if you play for long piriods of time or get a really complex rom.) Nemu64(N64,developers should use this) Project64(N64, preconfigured. pj64.com in the downloads section, ya all!)
Hope this helps.

Er, yes, it’s BIOS (Basic Input-Output System). Technically, only if you own the system for the specific BIOS is it legal, but one can be obtained through the internet if you’re willing to look. The BIOS is copyrighted by whoever made the system so obtaining it without paying for said system is illegal.
To quote the ePSXe emulator:
And that’s how it goes for most emulators. Obtaining good ISOs is also a bit of a rarity (It's best to just buy the game and either run it from the CD or make your own ISO. I only run my games from CD-ROM (though I have made ISOs… I just never use them as the CD works just fine).
Now, obviously Sony isn’t going to send in a crack team of ninja to kill you if you illegally obtain a BIOS and it is fairly easy to find one (for example, I own a PSX, but I was too lazy to obtain the BIOS from it so I just Googled it and figured that’d be just fine). Eh, if you want to obtain one then I nor Sony’s law-ninja will really care all that much. Just remember that it is illegal, so...
NOTE: Emulators like ZSNES don’t need a BIOS and it’s much easier to find ROMs for SNES and NES games than it is for PSX or, especially, PS2 games (and Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sega’s equivalents… you guys remember the Dreamcast right?)

You can make your own ISOs you know, that is easy. I made an MML1 ISO, its better on the emulator, because now I can use Gameshark.
If you know how to make roms, then your set, thats not illegal. Obtaining a BIOS isn't hard, not at all. PS2 emulation is also very promising at this point, then I can use gameshark on PS2 Games YAY.
