This thread is just to keep anyone, who's interested, informed about my progress in Boxing. I'll have pictures and Stats on any sparring or tournaments I compete in. Stats:Sparring:1/31/06 - Defeated, too many hits to the face. Defense was poor, but I atleast got some good hits on my opponant. Couple of right jabs to his face as well as a couple of awesome right hooks to his body. 2/07/06: - Draw (or I would think), decent match. Both fighters got some decent hits in, though I'm especially happy with my devasting "over-the-head right punch." Knocked him back a few steps, also got some body shots in. This spar was my first time experiencing a body blow AND learning how to clinch. 2/14/06: - Had 2 rounds of sparring tonight. 1 round per person. The first guy was easy, it was his first time in the ring. I worked on my guard at little, then popped him one good time with a right jab, he staggered back...a lot, infact, he hit the ropes. Second guy gave me a run for my money, but I kept my cool. He got me a few times, I got him a few times. Pretty even match. 7 people (including my trainer) complimented me on both rounds, it was indeed a big improvement from last week. ^^ Pictures:(None)Personal Training:A mile and a half jog 2 sets - 40 reps of hitting a punching bag with a sledge hammer (20 with the right arm, 20 with the left) 2 sets - 5 reps of pull-ups 2 sets - 20 reps of push-ups

I don't really "get" boxing. So you're out when you can't stand up straight anymore or what?

Nah, you lose if you: A) Get KO'ed B) Get TKO'ed C) The opponant gets more points than you if neither of you go down.
KO - Knock Out
TKO - Technical Knock Out (Usually, there are only a certain amount of times you can go down during a match. Most of the time, it's limited to 3. Once you go down the 3rd time, it's a TKO)
Points - How many times you hit the person and with what (Jabs, Hooks and Uppercuts)

Yeah, going down is you're entire body hitting the ground OR your knee hitting the ground...I think.
Oi, check the first post for my personal training stoof with Paul. x.x
And I have a match tonight. w00t!

There ya go Dashe, it's in teh first post now.
**For any of you who don't know what clinching is. If you're being overwhelmed by the opponant by constant attack, you throw your arms around his. Kind of like a bear-hug, if you will.

Didn't you tell me that you've a match today as well, Dash? If so, good luck. I'ma' cheering for you here in California. I really know nothing about boxing, though... Us Asians were never meant to fight... That whole Dynasty Warrios B.S, lies. None of it happened, just like the Holocaust. Never happened.

Nice job, Dash, Keep up this up, and soon you'll have defeated everyone in "The Ring". Including Samara.. or... or whatever her name is... God, that sequel was horrible...

I think he's talking about the movie "The Ring." But I don't watch many movies so I'm not too sure. Congratulations on your improvement! Now get out there and work even harder next time! XP
