As suggested, by the members, of the members, and for the members! At last Legends Station is bringing you a Caption Contest! This one will not drag its feet (much), will not suddenly die in the middle of everyone's fun, and will not be based only on one person's feelings toward the captions/people posting the captions.
In short, consider this an "Official" Caption Contest in the same sense as the Official Polls. Here's how it will work:
1) A new image will be posted every Sunday (if all goes well, and if not, expect it the next day). All participants will have an entire week to come up with their caption and post it.
2) Participants may come up with one or two different captions if they wish. No more than two per weekly image, and both must be in the same post (use the Modify button if necessary).
3) If an image is posted which once appeared on MLU's old caption contest (might happen since MMLS's images were used a lot for that), no stealing other peoples' winning captions. You may re-use one from MLU only if it was your own.
4) Judging will be handled by two primary judges, and a third judge will be involved in the event that the two primary judges cannot come to an agreement (this system is subject to change if it doesn't work out well).
5) Judges will judge on what is considered the "best" caption. Usually that means the "funniest" caption, but not necessarily.
6) At the end of the week, the winner will be posted, and the Scores updated in the first post. 1 point awarded for each caption won. If a participant reaches 10 points, they earn a custom title. That's not an easy achievement mind you, so good luck! And remember, it's all in fun!
