I was playing the one of the rob the cargo missions in MotB this morning, and I noticed something. You know the boat that Tron uses to load the cargo? It says 'Wily' in the back.
This most likely means that Tron or Teisel may have stolen it from Wily, or maybe they're in cahoots with him. It wouldn't be surprising if they had stolen it, considering that they did steal all of his boats to make the Barcon. Either way, this means they've already been on Kattelox before the events of Megaman Legends. I suppose this is a possibility, but do they mention in anything in MML1 about already visiting the island or that its their first time? I don't quite remember.
Come to think of it, Teisel said that he got the map to Diana's tear from a junk store owner, perhaps its the same on that was on Kattelox....
I just hope I'm not the last one to find out about this....again

Here's a few random theories: - Wily owns a chain of boathouses and boat rental depots in developed cities with nearby shorelines. This means Gold City could theoretically have a franchise/division, but eliminates all of the cities from MML2 for one reason or another.
- Someone on Gold City (or wherever they got the boat) owned a used, second-hand Wily boat that hadn't been repainted.
- The Bonnes had made a trip to Kattelox before the events of MOTB and MML1. This makes sense, because that's where they could've learnt the lore and rumours surrounding the island's treasure.
- One of Wily's boats had a flux capacitor in it. They simply accelerated to 88 nautical miles per hour and went back in time a year to provide themselves with the means to do loot the Gold City docks (that they already knew they had trouble with) and then returned. The short gap where they aren't seen during the yellow-refractor-dig in MML1 could provide ample opportunity.
- Capcom was lazy and they reused a readily available model and skin.

I think that Wily just has another store in Ryship Island. Kind of like he's trying to expand, but he's only been able to make a store there. And I don't think Tron would go to another island before he saved her brothers.
I'm pretty sure that there's more than one junk store owner. Maybe he got it from Gold City's junk store owner, or Saul Kada's, or Nino's...

Well, it doesn't nessicerily have to be a chain. I mean, seamen go a lot of places, and are often more than just fishermen. The boat could've been stolen while on a cargo trip or something of the like.

I like the flux capacitor idea. lol Trigger's jump off the ruins in the beginning of Legends 1 was SO BttFII.

Have you thought this through before I posted this? I guess that the multiple chain theory makes the most sense, although the time traveling one is clever, lol. You know, the fact that it's one of Wily's boats shows that at least Capcom has some sense of continuity, although not much...it would be cool if Wily's chain of boats shop would return to be a crucial plot point in MML3, or something...

Just imagine, the Gesellschaft with a giant 'Mr. fusion' blender thing on its back. Giant flame trails from its engines in the sky... "Great Scott, Teisel! We've entered a alternative timeline where Glyde has taken over Kattelox!"

To chip in with my own crackpot theory: the Wilys and the Bonnes are related. Look at those eyebrows and call me a liar! "Uncle Wily, may we borrow the boat? Please please please please with a cherry? Pwetty pweeeeeeease?" "Oh, fine! Damn kids!"
