Hello everyone!
So, I thought of making a thread about the project I'm making. Perhaps you have seen a bit of this on the Discord group, but here I can show a bit more about it on detail, and add along some screenshots.
I still haven't given it a name, but for now, I'll leave it as "Falcon's Game".
It's a short, 3D adventure game with a Legends-inspired gameplay, but with controls and GUI aligned to those of Breath of the Wild. It also mixes a bit of the aesthetics of both games.
With time I've been able to narrow down the game to these concepts:
- Explore a dungeon with your radar/minimap.
I always wondered what Roll could see on her radar when she was spotting.
She would always mention these "readings" during the game,
so I wanted to implement that into the gameplay.
They hint you through treasure, enemies, and to find out what's the huge blip showing up on your radar.
There's different things I want to do with this, but it will depend on the overall gameplay.

- Battle robotic guardians -- pick up their loot.
The dungeon's treasures are protected by robotic soldiers.
If you wake them up, they'll chase you and start shooting at you!
Don't get trampled by them -- they pack a punch!

When you defeat them, they drop "Zenny" and Life Prisms that replenish your health in case you take damage.
Zenny gets collected in your inventory but has no gameplay purpose for the time being.
For now, it can work as a score counter, though.

- Find treasure, money and trinkets -- Increase the stats of your Main Weapon...
... And develop new Gadgets!

Explore every nook and cranny, where you might even find Gear that increases your Weapon Stats.
You'll need to make sure they're equipped, first!

As of now, it consists of a tutorial level only, but with a start and finish, and a single enemy that's also the level's boss. There's more I'd like to do, but for now, I'm focusing on releasing what I have as a small, concise project, but that feels relatively "complete". I expect to do a playtest/release it before the end of the year, if work and availability allow me.
Here's a video I recorded several months ago --
It's a bit old now, but it's got audio and kind of shows how it's all meant to "flow".
I bet a you guys might recognize that wall layout by now.

The music is a placeholder, as well as the sound effects for the buster, impacts and zenny.
The effects come from Sky Pirate Arcade.
(Actually... I started using them to learn since the very early beginning on Scratch, but I think I never really stopped to thank you guys for that, it was really helpful when I began to learn how to code and implement sounds.)
I plan on making different effects eventually, but even then I'd still like to include you guys in the Credits and Special Thanks.
I hope you guys like it, and I'll keep working on it so there's a demo out soon!
I'm also posting weekly updates on my Twitter: falcontrace_
