Harro! I'd just put up the prologue of an old fanfiction project of mine in the Creative Writing section! That said, I'm going to be stuffing the concept art here - enjoy!
Edit: yith, the colored pencils are washed out when I use the cel's camera but it's all I've got right now = w =
This here is Bran! She's the main protagonist of the story and the so-called Spelunker (named after another, less durable icon in Japanese videogaming...).
Alongside her little sister Ashlynn (whose concept art has been updated and can be found further beloooow), together they make the digger and spotter duo as they uncover ruins in the island of Calvesram! Speaking of...
Calvesram Island - カルブスラム島 - Karubusu Ramu Shima: Where "Legend of the Spelunker" takes place. It is a large island inhabited by a thriving community, and has two main regions of interest.
Calves Desert - カルブス砂漠 – Karubusu Sabaku: About eighty percent of the island is covered in a vast desert, which is also lined by tall, rocky mountain ranges. Due to the locations of these mountains, the result is an almost complete cut-off of precipitation from all around the region, forming a giant rain shadow. It is littered by an unknown number of underground ruins, and the treacherous landscape means that only the natives of the desert are truly aware of how to properly navigate the area. Many diggers have tried to scour for ruins from the air, but the common sandstorms in the more barren locations have made such expeditions largely unsuccessful (especially due to bandit raids). While certain ruins have been excavated (some completely), there are still enough known ruins dotting the outskirts of the city for diggers from all around the world to come test their mettle.
Ram Town -ラム町 - Ramu Machi: Ram Town is located in an area of the island unaffected by the rain shadow. While not necessarily lush, the area around the town and where it stands can be considered as tropical grassland, containing quite a few forests closer to the mountains. While it is still called Ram Town, it is actually many times bigger than what would constitute as a town and can be considered a city - people have simply been calling it Ram Town for so long that the name had stuck. The city is inhabited mostly by the natives of Calvesram (including people from the desert), though there are certain families of old diggers who have made Ram their home. It is also considered to be decently advanced for a city due to the quantum refractors and shards that the native diggers have discovered throughout the years. Its main source of livelihood (aside from old technology from digs), is fish. Because of this, Ram town includes a sufficiently dvanced port where many people operate boats to make their living. Other points of interest include a school, a police station, the town hall, a news/radio station, a galleria and a farmer’s market (which includes stands for meat, vegetables and digger’s supplies).
-Bram and Ashlynn live in Susan’s mobile home, which is often located near the outskirts of Ram town. This makes travel toward the desert a little easier.-
Still working on the concepts for Sue and the rest, and I'll post it here when I'm done. I figure I'll post'em too when they've actually been introduced in the story but, we'll see!
Keep on being awesome people!
