I wanted to bring this topic up in this forum for awhile now and I have finally taken the time to get back on here. Through the beta footage I have seen from Mega Man Legends 3 when you are running around a town as Barrett, I was really surprised to see Sharukurusu's calmly walking about and patrolling the surface. Of course, it had me hyped for what the story would be about because that has always been what I thought to be a much more serious higher level Reavebot to only be found in very important areas with high security. (Colossus, Sub City, Larger Ruin Networks, etc.) I cannot argue with other footage I have seen of how they moved and such. They charged at you fast as hell and even in some screenshots it seemed they crawl on all fours at you? Creepy stuff and definitely brings back to life the PTSD I have of this Reaverbot when I was very young. So.. So far so good. Everything looks good. Then I saw this... This is exactly why I made this thread.
There is a part where Barrett EASILY jogs/runs away from this Sharukurusu and it begins to do this attack after he has already removed himself from infront of the Reaverbot. It like... Jumped up in to the air and did this two swing slash movement and it showed these little 'white slash effect' things on the two swings it did and it landed back on the ground. Well now. I didn't know the 'big bad Sharukurusu' that I remember being a ruthless Reaverbot that just charged at you with all it had not really caring about anything besides just getting at you to now being a theatrical swordsman of its fancy claw fingers? I know I'm going pretty harsh on this but I do remember this game having a much more darker tone and more crude feeling to its design on how everything was. The Reaverbots never did anything 'fancy' in attacks that is what I would say 'overly animated' until I had seen this. I can't help but notice that many games, anime, and manga have taken this type of movement in how things once were in their series. I would really hope that things such as this would not be an often thing if Mega Man Legends 3 did ever finally come to fruition. If I had my way, the Reaverbots would be just as single minded and simple with it's attacks to try and kill you and actually have that urgent fear that they had struck in you when you played this game as a child. I feel that is part of what made the first 3 titles so amazing with how I was hesitant and nervous to go through certain doors of ruins. I feel like I wouldn't have that feeling at all with Legends 3 if it had elements like this that were displayed in this Beta footage. I do understand it was a Beta but I also do not think that the certain enemy animation and everything that I am talking about would be so easily decided upon to have removed. I think it was a feature that had full intentions on staying.
Here is the link to the video that I am referring to.

I really hope I don't get burned at the stake for talking bad about a feature I have seen in Legends 3 but I want to see what everyone else thinks about this compared to the mechanics of the enemies in the earlier titles.
