So, I want to put my hands on my pc to give it maintenance for the first time in my life, I didn't wanted to do it before because I was afraid to broke it, but it's a hell slow right now and I can't continue on my game so I'm gonna give it maintenance, then backup my files and format the hard disk, maybe install Ubuntu instead of Windows hoping that I can run blender on it; so I have a few questions: how dangerous it is to clean the electronic parts using a brush? It will be enough to use just pressurized air? I've read how to make a homemade antistatic bracelet, would it be safe to use it? Any tips you want to tell me?
Thanks In advance.

If you have an air compressor, it's as easy as if you were cleaning the computer with a water hose. Yes, despite what it sounds like, pressurized air is the best way to clean the hardware parts, fans and other things. Just be sure to not accidentally blow the dust inside something else.
Oh, and you might want to clean the RAM memory chips as well. I didn't knew about this but you can use an eraser and rub it against the connections to remove any specs of dust that are between each pin.

My pc is now fully functional, I've formatted the hard disc and also installed Windows 7. Thanks MegaTuga, once I've finished cleaning and turned on the pc it wasn't recognizing one of the RAM memory chips, so I did what you said and it worked!
