The following are the rules for the Mega Man Legends Station Forums. Upon registration, you implicitly agree to abide by them.
As of October 2013, the forum rules have been simplified to make understanding them easier for you. Just remember, being a member of these boards is a privilege, not a right, and privileges can be taken away if you abuse them. Make sure to read and follow the rules below when you post:
#1: No mature content
MegaMan Legends is a fun-filled, light-hearted world, and is therefore popular with younger people. Please keep explicit jokes, images, and descriptions off of this forum.
Any art or fiction you may create with a mature rating should be hosted offsite and shared with a link, or posted as an attachment. In either case, you should also provide a content warning for any members trying to avoid that sort of thing.
#2: Respect others
We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespect. This includes, but is not limited to:
This goes for public discussion as well as private messages. If you find yourself being unnecessarily hassled via PM, be sure and include a screencap since we can't monitor the conversation otherwise.
This should go without saying, but make sure to respect the staff, too.
#3: No SPAM
Excessive SPAM can ruin a forum and potentially drive away quality members. On MMLS, the following are considered SPAM:
#4: Do not teach people how to perform illegal activities on MMLS
This applies to any sort of internet (e.g. piracy) or non-internet crime. Casual mention of something illegal is fine, linking to sites that teach how to do it or explaining it yourself is not. Talking about modding Legends is alright, though. It's been a while since we've had much to work with.
#5: Speak proper English
We have absolutely nothing against foreign languages and people, but these forums are English-based. If you don't know the English language well enough to at least get by and understand the rules, then you simply aren't ready to be part of an English-speaking forum yet.
To those of you who are fluent in English and insist on making your posts in incomplete, abbreviated, or otherwise butchered sentences, you’d better have a good reason for doing so. Laziness is probably the worst reason you can give, so that isn't going to fly around here.
#6: Keep images small
Instead of posting large images directly onto the boards, provide text (url) or thumbnail links to the larger image. An image is considered large if it either stretches the page width horizontally on most computers, or causes a considerable amount of lag to load.
Please keep signatures small. 150h x 500w is an aesthetically pleasing size, so if you use those dimensions as a guideline you should be fine. However, any excessively large sigs will be subject to moderation as needed.
#7: Notify staff before setting up major forum events
This includes contests or any other time-based scenario which affects the other forum members en masse and encourages their direct participation. When creating a large-scale event, make sure that it adheres to the forum rules and guidelines as well, and send your proposal to the staff via PM for approval, and if we like it we'll work with you to make it a success. If a major event is posted without our prior approval, it is considered to be in direct violation of this rule--no exceptions!
Consequences depend on the severity of the infraction. Breaking these rules will earn you a warning, or in extreme or frequent cases, an account suspension or permanent ban. If you find creative ways around our rules, we'll find creative ways to warn you for them.
*There are a few exceptions to the five-word rule, like forum games that require short responses or situations where a short response is best for the occasion (like birthdays, or thanking someone for information). For the most part, though, we want to see you guys elaborate on your views. If you agree with someone, tell us why you agree with them, or click the "Like" button instead. Even the most basic of supplementary details should put you well over the five-word mark.
** The exact circumstances that involve a necropost are subjective. If a thread is very old and time-sensitive, or you're replying to a member who hasn't logged in for a long time, then that's a necropost.
