I'm not entirely sure if a topic like this was made already, but i looked much as i could and couldn't find one. So my apologies in advance if it already exists.
The main subject of this thread is to discuss the differences between the N64 and PS1 versions of Megaman Legends. I, having only played the n64 version, know much on the details of that version. However im still learning more and more of the PS1 edition...so far I know that:
-Draw distance is farther on N64, due to N64's hardware capabilities.
-The music samples you can listen to in the town mini mall are removed on the N64 edition
-Voice acting audio is a bit less clear/crisp on N64 edition compared to PS1
Now there is one thing I can't seem to confirm... supposedly, the main center town on kattelox has been altered on N64 edition... supposedly it has more to it or something? Its a detail I heard a long time ago, but never could confirm...also some signs/posters on the walls in center town were also altered. Again, cannot confirm this either.
I'm also wondering which version has a better framerate in some of the games locations...I can vaguely recall at least one or two places on the N64 edition having some notable framerate drop. I think it was the old city section when you have too many dogs chasing you onscreen at once? I'm not sure.
Lastly, does the control set up for Ps1 edition allow for something just like how the n64 version is set up? I know MML2 does this (which I was very glad about). But I've heard that N64 version has better controls....
Also, feel free to add any other notable differences between the two. Its worth mentioning here.

How curious. I could've sworn that this topic came up somewhere, but I can't seem to find hide nor tail of it myself... It was probably just passive chat in a different thread. Ah well. One of the striking (and most infamous) differences between the two would be the time when Tron says "It's a man... a person?" in the N64 version in the Main Gate after Juno floats away, leaving Megaman trapped. She's not supposed to say anything at that time, but something got messed up in the port... somehow. She also says it in Megaman's voice. In addition, I think the Credits Music between the two is different. N64 plays that stupid KTOX Building Theme over and over until the credits are finished. I don't recall what MML1's Credits Music was, which is probably 'cause I only remember how horrible N64 had it. That's all I got.

Edit: sorry for the missing reply there for a moment, proboards servers were being wacky...

I remember that bug..as a kid, i always figured it was just a glitch. Still hilarious though. Another thought by the way...didn't the n64 version remove some voice acting from several cutscenes? namely ones that already had embedded text on them already. I think the reason was also due to memory contraints...

I almost wish I hadn't traded my MM64 for the PSX version.
I think the N64 had better camera controls. One of the C buttons allowed you to freely look around without locking on.

N64 always had that issue with semi blurred graphics...but I wonder how it would have looked if it was Ported to Wii/Wii U Virtual Console? (Not that it would happen due to reasons we know of now...)
I think it would have been a crisp improvement, and close to the PS1 version in that aspect.

I would like a confirmation of the Renderer being different. Curious myself.
And Wii's VC did make most N64 games less blurry...early examples mainly showed Starfox 64. I cant seem to find a good comparison video that isn't the 3Ds version but theres plenty around out there.

...I keep forgetting of the PC versions existence...Should have taken a note of that, too. Does one of the render settings run on something like Direct 3D, Direct Draw, or whatever it was called back in the day? I had some Console to PC ported games that did that with notable differences in visuals.
I have emulated this game before on project64, back before I got my physical copy back (long story). Nothing too much different to note apart from the visual bugs. Should try emulating the Ps1 version myself someday since I have the program to do that now, just to see other differences.

I actually liked the interpolating of the textures. To the point that when I switched to the PS version of my teenage days, it looked to pixelly to me.
