So every-time someone says BS on the Internet, they are referring to me!? I see what you're trying to do here. Just because "BS" obviously means something else in other branches of the Internet doesn't mean you should be trying to egg it out of people here. If you don't like the abbreviation "BS" for your name here, then just change your display name to just "Brawling" or "Sakura". If either are taken, just ask Dashe to edit/delete the inactive account. Don't make a big deal out of it. This forum falls into the remaining .1% you're talking about; unless you've registered in other forums elsewhere. Believe it. I truly didn't know what BS stood for. But never-mind anymore. I can see your point now after Google'ing it. EDIT: The Quote Button just glitched. The second post Mikey quoted from me went gone when I quoted the whole thing. I won't fix it manually to leave it as evidence.

Chiz: nah, admins are the only ones who know how exactly it works, I have no intentions of using this against something or someone, if that's what you mean.
Dashe: I'm not trying to troll right now. Neither am I covering for someone I just wanted to see how the banning system works here since it's not THAT detailed. But if you are really interested for my reason, I asked because I remembered the case of Avegodro and the idea wouldn't leave my brain till I asked.
BS: while Dashe is right and you have nothing to do with that part of my forum life, I am one major (or was it minor?) infraction away from a ban. Obviously I'm careful enough to not get it. If you are referring to the posts about the 100k page, I think I had good enough reasons why I disliked them, even if I was very verbal about it. I don't think that it was flaming, nor was it trolling in my opinion. Should the administration think it was, I won't back away and apologize right away.
Now I think everyone should pull those cactuses out and just think of this topic the way I thought about it when I made it: to get a little bit closer to the forum and know how it works.

Dear GP, there are entities who may want to look a bit further into the details. My post serves for that purpose and I don't have to feel bad about it because the case I named was not detailed inside the thread you linked twice.

Fine. If your main reason for asking was the Avegodro incident, then let me tell you. Ave restarted his account multiple times in the past. Each time, he returned, and all of his details, post count, badges, etc, had to be returned to his profile.
Maybe it was okay the first time, but by the looks of it, things got stale after the third time, or so. As such, he was warned that the next time will be his last. Ave was well-aware of this fact, and took his last plunge willingly.
In a nutshell; Ave mucked about for a while, his behaviour got tiresome, he was warned, he still mucked about, he got banned. He never requested it, and it wasn't random. He was merely a special case.

Kyle, stop reading my mind. :17:
Ave is a very melodramatically depressing person. He has serious self-esteem issues, refused to accept any kind of badge or title because he staunchly felt he was undeserving, and deleted and reactivated his account at least eight times over a span of six months. Quite frankly it gave me mood whiplash, made overall morale plummet even further (not everyone was over the cancellation) and I wouldn't be surprised if it scared people away. iScribble sessions with him during this period were kind of headache inducing, too. I sincerely hope he's received some kind of professional help for whatever seemed to be making him so depressed.
So yeah, special cases happen. Usually as a result of clearly unorthodoxly disturbing behavior. However, if I made a rule for every really weird disturbing thing problem members do on the boards, the rule list would seem even more strict, and undoubtedly make some people wonder "What idiot screwed up so badly here that this had to be made a rule at all?!"
I also make special circumstances for adbots. They don't get warnings, they just get banned on sight. As long as you guys aren't adbots, that doesn't apply to you.

Now, GP. Either learn to read, or forget about replying to me... I said that this whole thing spawned from me remembering that case. I did not say that I thought it was a request or a random ban. As stated before, that case got me thinking about this completely different idea and would not leave my mind until I came here and opened a thread for it. I think I also stated something about being interested in the admins opinion, so please put that lighter away. EDIT: I think I know about Ave's case just as much as you guys do, since he told me everything + I was present when that iScribble thing happened. So yeah, please get back to the original meaning of this topic? EDIT: And Truner, if you really just wanted to know what happened with Ave, it definitely would have been better to send me a PM instead of making it public. Please remember that in the future. Will do, but this topic was not made with that purpose.

Fine, I'm leaving. I'll be taking some of the copper piping out of the wall, though.
FYI, if you want an admin's opinion, don't make a public thread to store it in. It's rude.

Blame me for thinking that maybe someone else would be interested in this kind of stuff, really...

What, whether or not it's possible to ask for a random ban at a random time for a random interval? I did that the first time I posted. I'd only allow it if it were part of some kind of scheme overtly involving the staff in every stage of the planning process, approved by the staff. It would probably involve a lot of convincing on the part of anyone trying to attempt this.
Or did you mean what other circumstances it would take to get banned outside of what's explicitly outlined in the rules? If so, I addressed that the last time I posted:
1) Do something really insanely nuts that is a detriment to the community and/or a possible sign of severe mental disturbance, where the situation is so messed up, or over the top, that it just plain wouldn't apply to an average, non-psychologically disturbed member of the community and therefore wouldn't wind up on the rule list by default
2) Be an adbot
There. Does that cover everything?

Yes. In fact, I got the answer I wanted the first time you posted. I just don't understand why everyone has to post with cactuses up their ass. So much vigor and idiocy, geez. One small, innocent, maybe a bit boring question, and the topic takes a free-for-all direction...
Oh well, lock this topic if you want.

Heh, I do, but that's a topic more appropriate to a back alley iScribble session. Locked!
