I've been living in a country where the rules don't matter at all! Corrupt police on one corner! Drunk chief officer i another! Piracy on your sides and a thief in your back! You and I may call this insanity. Most people in here call it home...
Having lived on a country where everything good is wrong and everything for you is even better, I always saw other countries as an Utopia. A place where I could freely talk with a real freedom of speech. A place where mutual respect exists between everywhere. A place where people could have fun and have to work hard to achieve their dreams!
But it was on one stormy night. (And I assure you! It was really a stormy night!) A stormy night where something bad happened. I created a little comic entry. I wanted people to laugh and have fun. Happiness is the true essence of life and any good laugh could help anybody reach that, albeit for a few moments. Nevertheless, I forgot of one simple thing: This is the Internet...
The Internet is a place where everybody joins together and talk. If this place was filled with full, mutual self respect, then whose fault was it? It was mine...
In the country where I live, a joke like this would not only create some good laughs, but it could have even been considered flattering. However, this is not my country. This is not the country I detest, nor is the country I imagined as an Utopia. This is the Internet.
A simple comic was all it took to break hell loose. I wanted to make laughs, not cries. While some people did find it funny, others that were mentioned more directly found it insulting. Instead of flattering them by choosing them out of everyone, I had offended them to the point where I was seen as a simple, common troll.
If I have to blame somebody, it would have to be myself. It is true that I broke a rule by disrespecting someone, even though this disrespect was never intended. I should have taken into account that this is not my country, and that utopias only exists in our dreams.
Thus, I would like to make a public apology:
-To Dashe, who pointed the problem to me and whose determination is really admirable.
-To fAB, who was very polite in all of the disturbance and was able to maintain keep so effectively that barely a few people might have noticed something wrong.
-To TronBonne, whom I might have offended even more by having talking about her avatar's appearance while she was a female moderator. (As Dashe pointed out.) I'll say that I did not notice this unfortunate accident, but the fault is all mine so I must apologize.
-To Eric Chiz, whose name I wrote incorrectly unintentionally and whose moderating techniques, in contrast to what might joke stated, are actually Grade-A Material.
-To JMC48, who I actually salute for developing most, if not all of his games by himself. As a fellow developer, I know how hard it is to develop a game and why complete code-rewrites and delays are needed. I know you will finish your game and that it will be excellent. I salute you.
-And last, but not least, to Buster Cannon, who has proven to be a great moderator and always willing to help us in any problems. Like he says in his location, he is (in) our right hand, someone who will help us beat evil and help justice reign supreme in life.
---
I'm going to say a last few words. I know there is a topic made for this, but I'm going to post it in here since it will reduce traffic on the servers and since it would be probably more convenient for all of you, including myself.
Lately, I've been learning new things about the world. But the most important thing that I learned is that my words are like sharp blades. When used correctly, they can help defeat evil. However, when used incorrectly, they could harm innocent victims.
My mission in life is to help others, but by trying too hard I'm actually hurting people more than I'm helping them. Thus, I've decided to spent most of my time researching about this rather than spending my time for leisure.
The loneliness might be painful, but the end result will be worth it. Thus, I'll leave the forums for a while. Maybe for one or two years. Maybe for an even longer or shorter amount of time.
I'll come back once I learn more about the process of helping, just enough to analyze what to say and what not to say in certain situations. This forum have stood the test of time, and I know it will definitely keep existing after leaving.
Thus, I'll say to you: Good bye for now.
P.S. (I'll continue working on Project Legends and on LegendsNeverDie, but I'll limit myself to talking only about what is needed for the Campaign and for the Project, avoiding most, if not all, unneeded social interactions.)
