A couple days ago in Public Speaking, our teacher had us "practice our tongue muscles" and say all 12 of these tongue twisters within 60 seconds. It took me two tries, and a few people in class couldn't get it at all, but she welcomed us to share it with people, so...
Radio and television announcers must have outstanding articulation. One way they develop it is by practicing tongue twisters such as those listed below. Give students the list so they can work on their articulation. Tell students to begin by saying the tongue twisters slowly and firmly, so that each sound is clearly formed. Once they have the sounds correct, they can gradually increase to a normal rate of speech. [/annoyingstupidinstructions]
