Welcome to the Development Thread for... "Rokkuman Dash: Densetsu no Boken"! For those who haven't studied and learned Japanese, it translates to "MegaMan Legends: Densetsu Adventures", or "MML:DA" for short.
Here, I will post this project's progress over time.
Unlike my previous project, this one requires only a single-person crew and can be done on my own. However, I don't intend to do this alone, for I've two people who've already volunteered to be my assistants. You, too, can contribute to this project's development by leaving posts and messages with any ideas you wish to suggest, as all ideas are much appreciated.
With that said, let us begin with MML:DA!

Considering it'll be created via Minecraft, it could be done in Single-Player Mode, but since it'll also be hosted on a server, it's recommended to be played on Multi-Player.
Basically, the plot is that you're a travelling adventurer (or adventurous traveller, either one) who has only recently journeyed to "Densetsu Island".
Whether you're a Digger, Pirate, Spotter, Junk Store Owner, Citizen, whatever, is entirely up to you. Go on Digs in ancient underground Ruins and Caverns, plunder and pillage cities and villages, build structures and craft weapons, Buy and Sell cheap or valuable resources, or just live an urban life, it really doesn't matter so long as you have fun with it!

Anyone could also attempt to destroy the whole island piece by piece. It has happened before.

Yeeeeaaah... That's where the security force comes in.
I pay their monthly wages in Lapis Lazuli Blocks. Since these guys constantly troll about the stuff, I struck the deal where, for their services, I give each guy a Lapis Lazuli Block every month.
It's a fair deal, considering that we both get what we want from each other, even though finding Lapis Lazuli Ore is rather difficult due to its notorious rarity.
And yes, I know they're basically using me to do their Lapis Lazuli mining for them, but like I said, both Miners get what they want, and thus keep their end of the bargain. But hey, they're the only ones I could find who'll take the job.

I'm not really sure what kind of features you have in mind for the final game. But if you've already determined that you'll need to hire other people to help with the maintenance, I think you may be aiming too high with this. Or at least going about enforcing your game mechanics the wrong way.
I've never played Minecraft, but if you don't want players to mine certain blocks, I imagine there's some way to mod your server to restrict what blocks/types of blocks players can interact with (or to stop them from using mining tools altogether, if you just planned on using Minecraft as a sort of level-building tool). Or, if the sandbox-mining-building elements were meant to be the big draw, maybe just embrace it and accept that people may end up deciding to burn the island to the ground. At most, perhaps have a way to reset the world to a previous state just in case. But for a one-man-scale project, I really recommend against hiring people to enforce your rules for you. I imagine being indebted to them would get really old really fast. And if I'm honest, I don't think there would end up being enough regular players to really warrant hired mods. This community isn't really all that big. This community's overlap with the Minecraft community even less so, I imagine.
And even if hiring mods turns out to be absolutely necessary for whatever reason, I wouldn't worry about it at this stage. Getting something playable out should probably be the priority; other things can be worried about later. Again though, if this is intended as a one-person project, I'd recommend designing it in such a way that it could not only be created, but also maintained by one person. If it can't, the scale you're thinking on may be too large.
Anyway, my thoughts. Good luck with this.

I suppose I could have Flo program an Anti-Grief. It should definitely protect all Blocks I place, and allow the mining of Ore and other naturally placed Blocks. Seems simple yet effective, don't you think?
Anyways, this conversation has dragged on long enough. I suppose it's about time I've posted some progress.
So far, I have graphed three out of the five Ruins as well as the Island's capital. All that's left are the remaining two Ruins.
One's rather big, so it's a bit difficult graphing it out so each level intersect correctly. But the other... Is going to be larger than any Ruin you'll ever Dig...
It frightens me that I'll fail to think of enough challenges in order to have this Ruin meet my personal expectations of exceeding the difficulty that of Sub-City, Nakai Ruins and Elysium combined.
Yes, I know I'm basically saying that I'm attempting to 1-up Capcom with this, but I still carry a slight bit of that cancelation rage deep inside myself.

Hmmm... It just occurred to me that, without a Seed, the Island won't be formed correctly...
Hmm... Well, either I miraculously find a Seed that gives me a perfect five-biome Island, or I'm gonna have to spend hours on end terraforming entire maps...
Personally, I think an all-ocean Seed would be best, but what are the chances of finding one of those?
Anyways, any suggestions on this?

Well, safe to say this was a flop...
I can't afford Minecraft, parents won't buy it for me, and I definitely give up on the final Ruins since I realize it's a far worse nightmare designing them than going through them.
Besides, relying on building games is the lazy way out. This next project will be much better, and created by me AND a crew.
Sure, it's not going to be based on Legends, but many secrets and Cameos will.
Anyways, pulling the plug.
