I'm not taking this guy's word for it, but getting a number couldn't hurt. I wouldn't hold this as fact unless Sven himself, or another Capcom employee, confirms it as such--this guy doesn't even cite a source.

Sounds like one of the more pointless gestures so far. With the project over, Servbot numbers are meaningless. It makes more sense approaching them from outside the system at this point.

As I've already mentioned before elsewhere,
The only reason the American DevRoom is still up is because they said that would keep it up so that users can find their DevRoom friends and keep their contacts. They're going to get rid of the DevRoom sooner or later regardless. They just merely forgot to disable the Servbot numbers.

Huh. Know what? We doubled the Servbot count today. It sure couldn't hurt the cause if 25,000 people join the Devroom because of this. I'm pretty sure all of us on MMLS have numbers, though, right?

Any Legends-Station member without a Servbot number will be HUNTED DOWN!!
haha ERR... Honestly, I know some friends who still do not have a Servbot number, but I kind of wish Capcom would release an official statement supporting this rumor before I go off pestering them to register. I just feel like if I bug people about each and every possible 'chance for revival', they're going to get burned out and stop believing in any further revival attempts.
Personally, I don't mind...I'm willing to try almost anything no matter how small the hope. I've liked the Facebook page, upvoted the Reddit one, followed big supporters on Twitter, have 3 letters ready to ship, posted on the Ask Capcom thread...

Sounds like one of the more pointless gestures so far. With the project over, Servbot numbers are meaningless. It makes more sense approaching them from outside the system at this point. I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I agree with your thinking. Not much point in becoming a Servbot when Capcom's no longer looking for Servbots because the Project is cancelled. And amassing a crowd of Servbots now seems kiiiind of silly, seeing as Capcom was asking for this kind of showing ten months ago when they started this project. If I were Capcom, I'd be more annoyed that the fans finally started supporting the Project after it had been cancelled for lack of fan support. It just seems kind of silly, that the best “promotion” for the Devroom (if you could call it that), was to cancel the game. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Capcom just closes down Servbots signups, and tells the fans it's too little, too late. On the other hand, I disagree, because, well, how is any “outside the system” campaign different from that, really? Any logic I can come up with for discouraging people from joining the Devroom applies equally to a Facebook page. And I think actually joining the Devroom is far more meaningful than joining some random Facebook page, too. Facebook pages are pointless. They're a dime a dozen, on a very good day, and all kinds of random crap gets 100,000+ Likes pretty easily. By joining the Devroom, and coming to Capcom's doorstep to show support for the game, rather than bitching and whining and plotting elsewhere, I think we stand to make more of an impact. I honestly don't think it will affect anything either way, though. They've been pretty clear in expressing that the cancellation was final, from what we've been hearing.

It makes perfect sense imo. If the true reason for closing the devroom was to give time for people to "Connect with each other" than why did they already close the Japanese devroom?...Do Japanese people not matter to Capcom in the same way Western games do?? lol
I think they left it open to see if the cancellation would spark more interest and fan support.

Whatever the case may be, all we can do is hope. If they kill the Devroom entirely, then all of my dull optimism will be shattered.

While a nice (if superficial) idea, wishful thinking is not something I would adopt.
Were I to be borderlining-optimistic though; if anything, a higher Servbot count would be a CONTRIBUTING FACTOR rather than the decisive factor.

Well, we got nothing to lose so why not? Not that I'll do anything personally since my signature is on page 8 in that petition. Still, it's not like that they asked me to donate them 100$ to hope for a change of heart.

US Capcom can be kind of delayed sometimes when it comes to updating their websites. Considering that the US Devroom is just an extension of their main message boards, maybe they could not immediately shut it down without removing the whole thing? The Japanese Devroom obviously could just disallow posts while allowing people to view and get anything they wanted before it was all officially shut down. Maybe the US Devroom does not have that option?
It will be interesting to see what happens come August 19th. If everything just shuts down and gets deleted, that's sure to cause another wave of backlash.

Remind me: Why is August 19th so significant?

Remind me: Why is August 19th so significant? www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/dash3/At the end of the Japanese Devroom notice, it mentions August 19th as the final shut down date.
