^ Well you see, as many people have said, Capcom works on a below average mentality. I also think theu made this decision too early. I hope everyones efforts will chsnge their mind

I took a look over at Capcom's wall on Facebook. There is so much hatred being spread. But I did come across something interesting. I'm saying this picture is fake. twitpic.com/5sdmxsHowever some people have gone about saying they remember reading this post last year. Making it seem this pic is real. But anything can be Photoshopped, especially something like this. If it is real, Capcom can literally go to hell now. Cancelling MML3 has been the nail in the coffin from their downward spiral they have been in. I will no longer be supporting them. You can check out all the hatred that has exploded on their facebook here. (Click the "Most Recent" words/link under the pictures at the top to see posts from the fans.) www.facebook.com/capcomunity

It's been a day, maybe we can look at the issue a little more calmly.
For starters, I think threats of boycott and hate mail are the wrong answer here. If our goal is to still have MML3 someday, then we would have to support the company that can make it happen. Having the entire Legends fanbase abandon Capcom is a sure way to guarantee this is really the end. Honestly, this is not the end of the world, don't overreact like it is.
Anger and frustration are natural though, given the mismanagement here. When everyone was trembling over the looming cancellation over the last couple weeks, I remained confident that one way or another, we would at least get the Prototype Version. It was already completed, some people already had it, and being an e-Shop game it shouldn't cost them anything to distribute. So when I heard that even plans to release MML3PV were canned, that hit me harder than anything. At least for every other MML3-related disappointment we've suffered over the past decade I could explain it. There were business reasons and our fanbase just wasn't substantial enough to make it worth their costs. But now they've already dumped a lot of time and money down the drain, and the one thing they could do to make up even a tiny portion of those losses -- releasing MML3PV as a consolation stand-alone e-shop download -- is not being considered. How does that make any sense?
So yes, I would like Capcom to know they made a mistake, and hopefully some calmly-worded messages through the "Legends Never Die" campaign is the way to do it. Don't just say you'll never buy from Capcom ever again though, because they don't really need your money as long as their other properties continue to do well.
I think the real solution to the MML3 problem is to somehow pick up the Project's goal of spreading the joy and enthusiasm of the series to people who have never considered it. Right now I don't think we're any better off than in 2002. What makes this a cult fanbase is that few people have played it, but those that have absolutely love it. If we just had more fans, then there would have been more support in the Devrooms, more people buying 3DSes in anticipation of the release, and we wouldn't be in this situation right now, we would have at least had MML3PV a month ago as originally planned.
I've never been able to figure out how to make that happen though. It's a video game that's the 3rd installment of a decade-old spinoff series. I don't know how to sell that idea to any random person. That was the whole point of the Promotional Event, and how did that turn out? I believe in the charm of Legends that if we could somehow get everyone in the world to play through the first one and get a basic understanding of the history of the series, then we'd have a lot of converts. That's just not happening though.
Then again, that's all assuming we still want it to happen. Maybe we've had enough MML3 disappointment for one lifetime. They've built up our hopes only to break them down before, but this level of BS is unprecedented. Do we really want to go through all of that again? Being fans of a dead series isn't so bad. So what if it ended on a cliffhanger? It's Capcom, they never would have resolved everything no matter how many installments it got.
Here's the thing, after the news made me depressed and I started thinking of all the possibilities for solutions, how to react, how to express my feelings, how to continue...I eventually came to the conclusion that it was all just ridiculous. How am I supposed to explain to people that I'm feeling down because this video game I was looking forward to is no longer being made? I'm too old to fret about something like that, and I don't think I should ever feel like my happiness is dependent on the whims of an entertainment company that doesn't really give a crap about me. There are too many more important things to worry about. The old games aren't going away, and good new games are still possible. We'll get over this disappointment, just like we always do.
Right now, I still hope that we can somehow get them to release Prototype alone as consolation, or at least provide a reasonable explanation as to why they won't. I don't expect much from them at this point, but I don't want to give up on it too easily either.

Can't tell if anyone posted this already, but another blog post was put up. What it says is civil, but doesn't change the fact they lied about giving us the prototype..

Thank you very much for the link, TronBonne. Ja, that didn't change the fact that they lied about releasing the prototype. I had also noticed that in the blog spot they hadn't really mentioned anything about the Prototype, but how they allowed the fans to get the feel on what they experience when it comes to developing games.
False alarm about the forum (and other links) that had disappeared from the Devroom page. Looks like it is back now.

Nah, TB. Nobody has posted about that blog entry yet.
Looks like we'll have to fight for the Prototype then; after all of the waiting they put us through, Capcom at least owes us that much. 10 missions? Sure! I'll take 10 missions over nothing. They never even tried putting it on the market, so why assume things?

Pulling the prototype too, when there were reviewers actually playing it, is too sleazy. This is more than just a video game. It's about how a corporation decided it'd be profitable to go and screw with and lie to thousands of people who loved their work enough to get involved. It's hardly even the game that's in question when you look at the whole picture, it's a matter of ethics and good business.

Mikéy Yeah, by this point all I'm hoping for is the Prototype Edition. It should be reasonable enough to ask it from Capcom. I don't think anything is going to come of trying to get the whole MegaMan Legends 3 Project back into full swing, though. That's a really big demand, and we just don't have the numbers to convince Capcom it will be worth it to them. No amount of insisting we do have the numbers is going to change that. But the Prototype? That's done. It was ready to go. Even if you believe the explanation they gave for the delay in June, the core product was ready to push. It shouldn't be too much to ask for them to put that up on the e-Shop. (Assuming the e-Shop can handle it.) And certainly nothing's going to come from bombarding Capcom with hate mail. I'll probably write a letter, but it's going to be professional, politely worded, and above all, calm.

For crying out loud! I'm only gone for TWO days, and this...BLASPHEMY happens...But anyway I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said ten times over by everyone else concerning how I feel about this. But I can still say to you, Capcom...LEGENDS...WILL...NEVER...DIE!!!!!! Which is more than I can say for a few of you come the next convention.
You know, what I really wanted most of all, after the great gameplay and accompanying goodies of a full game, what I really wanted more than anything else was simply to know how the story ends. If we're unable to get a full game, would it really be so much to ask for at least the official storyline to the game? A comic maybe? If nothing else, they at least owe us that much.
Either way, I am SO not going to buy that next Dead Rising game now! Good thing, since it looked like crap anyway.

Wait, the rules on swearing were taken away here? Good, now I might stick around some more.]
Now that Crapcunt has failed us so spectacularly, I'm wondering what to do next. I'm actually considering continuing and finishing that "Legends 3: Endgame" fanfic I was writing so many years ago. Back then I had very mixed ideas on where the story would go next, but I think I've come up with a much better second half to the story since yesterday night.
I stopped writing the story because this game was announced. Now that its cancelled, I feel the need to provide the fans with SOMETHING for all their patience with the series.

Capcom has never viewed Legends as being a successful series before, and the amount of hate and the VERY FEW Legends fans no longer supporting Capcom as a result of this will just give them much more of a reason to believe that Legends 3 would not do well. I mean, I used to RAGE at a lot of people about things before at some places. In the end, the rage only made things much worse. Of course that isn't going to stop the spread of hate, can't expect it to stop anytime soon.

@dr. Jerk: I agree. Boycotting CAPCOM and spreading hate will only make things much worse and won't help anyone in the long run.
