Name: Lin Falaris
Age: 13 (during MML2)
Personality: Bossy, egotistical, a little bit obnoxious, lazy, and greedy. Since she looks innocent enough, she uses her appearance to her advantage and likes to trick people, especially "brainless adults" into thinking she's got good intentions. She's frequently quite violent to her little brother Den.
Description: Lin is a little under five feet tall, with the build you'd expect from an average middle-school girl. She has green eyes, curly purple hair (which she frequently ties back in a ponytail), and a relatively clear complexion. Lin typically wears a red and yellow jacket over a navy blue T-shirt with a picture of a popular children's show star named Harvey the Dung Beetle. Since she's afraid her closet Harvey fandom would ruin her "reputation", she usually keeps the jacket zipped up. She also sports khaki cargo pants, which she tucks into a pair of kid-sized army boots.
History: Lin is the daughter of a naval officer. She and her brother Den lived with their parents in a small port town called Oru Harbor, where they spent most of their lives frolicking around and whatnot. Then, three years ago, while the two siblings were exploring some cliffs overlooking the town, Oru Harbor was invaded by air pirates. The pirates destroyed everything and slaughtered countless villagers, including Lin and Den's parents. As Lin watched all this chaos happening from above, thoughts started to swim through her mind. "I can't believe people can just fly around to any random town they want, kill off a bunch of innocent people, and leave forever with all their valuables!" "If they can get rich like that and not wind up in jail, who's to say I can't?" "I want to be a pirate myself! Then I'll never have to work a day in my life!" After gathering up what was left of her possessions back at her house, she and Den left to find a good place to start their pirating career.
Two years later, they arrived in a desert town. After hearing about a treasure in the nearby Shengosu Ruins, they decided to check it out. They met up with a real group of pirates, but they didn't get along as well as Lin would've liked. In the end, they wound up scrounging up just enough refractor shards to hitch an airship ride to one more town...
Other: Lin typically uses whatever mechs and weapons she forces Den to build her. They *usually* suck.
Name: Den Falaris
Age: 9 (during MML2)
Personality: Den is a klutzy, cowardly little boy who's afraid of his older sister. He whines a lot, but underneath his wimpy exterior, he's actually really smart. He's just afraid to show it.
Description: Den's hair is purple like his sister's, and it's usually kept short and spiky. Of course, you can't usually see his hair because it's always covered by a white naval officer's cap that's just a few sizes too big for him. His eyes are brown, and he's about a head shorter than Lin and kind of chubby. He constantly wears blue gloves, knee pads, and elbow pads so he doesn't hurt himself when Lin pushes him around, and wants to save up for a decent suit of armor (like they actually make them in his size) so he can get the best protection available. For now, the rest of his outfit consists of just an ordinary T-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers (usually untied.)
History: Den doesn't remember his parents much, but he does remember that he had wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and work for the military. On his fifth birthday, his father gave him his spare captain's hat, which he's worn pretty much ever since he was forced to leave Oru Harbor. While sadistic Lin enjoyed watching the town where she'd spent her childhood get torn apart by pirates, Den did not. In fact, he took it in exactly the same way you'd expect a six-year-old boy to take it. After crying for about four hours straight, his sister dragged him out into the world with her and coerced him into helping her become a pirate, even though what he really wanted was revenge against the pirates that killed his parents.
Although Den had never worked with machines before in his life, Lin forced him to learn how to build mechs and weapons so they could properly raid towns and explore ruins. He learned the skills he needed to know quickly, and could soon build all sorts of things...only, before he made Lin anything, he realized that if she knew he knew what he was doing, who knows what she would be capable of? Cities would be destroyed! Countless innocents would be slain! And worst of all, he'd just be expected to work as hard as he could all the time, and he certainly didn't want Lin to push him any harder than she already did. So he strategically started to intentionally screw up his machines, just to keep his sister in check. She has no clue what he's doing.
Den accompanied Lin to the Shengosu Ruins, and has been traveling with her ever since.
Other: Den only fights when he has no other choice, but he'll just use whatever weapons Lin forces him to create. Usually they're either too big or heavy for him, or very difficult to fire.
