Loken just described EXACTLY what my older (fat) slider PS2 would always do, I think the laser got so messed up that it couldn't read ANY games except for the light-golden colored disks, and both of the slim versions do that just fine, as well as play PS1 games. That was the point where I thought it was broken.

My PS2 had disc read problems twice in it's life. I fixed it by totally dissembling it and cleaning the laser with isopropal alchol; not a fun task but in both instances it worked and I never really had anything to lose. If I were to guess, the laser is very sensitive and the littlest dirt causes it to mess up.

That's a super easy fix. Open it up, remove the laser mechanism, and twist both potentiometers about 1/8th turn counterclockwise. If you've only got a problem with one type of disc then leave the potentiometer for the other type alone.

I remember back in the day when people were afraid to use the older, blue disk PS2 games. Having a good cleaner really helps- I got one years ago, and it served me well. Now you guys have me wanting to play the game again. Ther few things better than rampaging towns in a mighty gustaff.

And there are so many ways to earn so much cash on the city. The farm is the next best thing, but ultimately isn't as much as fun as the town and bank raid.
The ruins give a little MML feeling, if it weren't for the fact that the Gustaff moves slower or the music is so repetitive (well, some MML tunes are repetitive, but that music grinds on my ears).

I have a copy and it's REALLY fun! I like the first level when you get to play as Teisel

I enjoyed the first level as well. Tiesel just makes playing the game more fun. I have to think he is my favorite of the Bonne clan.
I have yet to finish the harbor missions and pay off Loath. Man I'm a slacker.
