Ok, You already probably started to cry after seeing the thread title.... You should because there's a video you should see regarding this.... Some of you may or may not have seen it, but if you haven't, the secrets may unveil... www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJdtTBVfsRsYou see, Capcom is a little bit greedy. They won't make MML3 unless they know they'll get $15Million. Other than that, they won't make it like-wise. All those pleas on their website are being ignored because you're not talking about giving them money. ON the OTHER hand, I know what can get them started. If we make a website where all the die hard MML fans gather, we can fund raise money and contribute about 10-20 bucks each until we get close enough to the ammount me need.... Of course, BAD IDEA. I bet there's no way the Admin would allow this... But it is an idea that should be thrown out there... If capcom doesn't make this, then I have no purpose to live....lol. I also hear that people are dying for MMX9 to come out. If they won't make it, I will because I know a little about making games AND about MMX8...

NEWSFLASH: MML3 still not being made! We are now in hour 87,602 of this exclusive coverage! More on this story as it continues to not develop!
Yeah...anyway...
Greedy bastards expecting to get money for their products. Surely the desires of a cult fandom are more important than "profit", or "breaking even" for that matter.
If there were enough die-hard MML fans to generate $15 million from donations of $10-$20 alone, then that initiative would be completely unnecessary because those same fans would just buy the game for $40-$50 at retail, so Capcom would just make the game by themselves because they could expect that kind of return. The fact they're not making it indicates the fandom is not quite as big as you think it is.

I know I'm late for this.... But at least it makes everyone give up hopes of it being made any time soon..... God I hate it when they don't think too much about the consumers. Ok, so what if they don't get 15 million dollars?? Thats all they ever really cared about when they made MML and MML2.... how sad.

Okay, I think your problem is that you think $15 Million is a lot, like it's pure profit, per person. There aren't many games on the market that make any profit at all. It costs around $10 Million just to develop a game like this, and then you throw in distribution, advertising, etc. When they say they want to make $15 Million, they're not talking about lining their fountains with gold, they're talking about putting food on the table.

Heh, I like you. You have common sense. I gave up on a Legends 3 when it wasn't announced in the years following Megaman Legends 2. Which is why I said "screw it" and started writing a fanfiction called "Legends 3" instead.

Well, despite all the common sense I'm throwing around, I should point out that I don't think MML3 is an utter lost cause. It's not being made right now, but forever is a long time. The market is constantly shifting, fads come and go, fandom interests rise and fall, anything can happen a year from now or ten years from now, whatever. We got MM9 in unbelievably adventurous format. Who thought that would happen so many years after MM8? It goes to show you can't count anything out.
So just because I'm not holding my breath for a Legends revival doesn't meant I've given up hope for it.

Well, look on the bright side: this means Capcom isn't going to care that much about the Legends IP. It's less likely they'll notice that the hit film I make when I graduate film school in five years borrows its plot from the Legends backstory. I wish. Well... I suppose it's not entirely inconceivable.

Suprisinly... i'm not suprised... Yeah, the game companies, rarely pay attention to the demands of the fans.. *mumbles something about Marvel Vs Capcom 3, and starts raging about it*
But its comprehensible I guess... about the website... there's the MMX9 site and there's still no responce... meh...

That interview is as old as my wisdom teeth.
This interview was conducted at a time when Inafune wasn't as persecuted about making a MML3 as he is today. I honestly feel that ever since that 1UP interview was conducted and shown, it seemed that more and more people became aware of the Legends series and began playing the them, and that may have also prompted more and more said people to ask Capcom for a DASH 3. Looking at it that suggestion box they have, it is one of the most requested titles ever. At one point, it was the second most requested game right behind even Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, according to Seth what's-his-name.
Now this may sound pretentious to some, but I didn't remember a lot of people* mentioning the Mega Man Legends games before this interview's publication. I've noticed more people asking for a MML3 each year that passes by as Capcom delivers titles that people ever wanted. I think this Inafune interview is what partly sparked this interest in non-fans.
*Aside from here and the Mega Man fan communities and the occasional mention in one or two interviews by Capcom staff over the years.

Hmm...i cant say either way about the fandom or fanbase or whatever you call it but ido know I'd like MML3 so much that i'd Work for Capcom to have it made
However, about Raijin's words; Raijin's got a point people
think about how much effort goes into a back-water video game: about 100 hours a week during development to write and test one code is not surprising, in fact that putting it lightly, as a result, these coders/developers need YEARS to make one simple back-water game and make it pleasing ---that means the check they get from the corporate boss needs to be pretty big, before the game even makes money, so the devs can feed themselves their spouse and their 3 kids as well as for their house electricity and water and heating/cooling bills
I'm in no way surprised MML3 isnt being made just yet key words people: just yet
the only real thing we can do, is get our voice out, whether or not it's listened to, it's at least heard, then we of course have to e-voice ourselves, persistence is what gets things done
Aw heck, think about it like this: Ten years ago: Pokemon introduced GOLD & SILVER, after Fire Red and Leaf Green, people began begging for a G/S remake, it's been about that long(shave off the last two years of the 10) that nintendo listened to people before showcasing that they had HG/SS planned,
my point: Nintendo had to make money off of D/P/PL before even beginning on HG/SS so they could feed stomachs that were made hungry by work
a typical back-water game like Virtua Quest i'd say pays its development team about 12mil during making process and trust me Virtua Quest did not ake that much in return, instead, it stinking bombed (however it is my second fave game, really fn, if you're looking to kill time)
MML1 i'd say as a 12.5mill and MML2 not sure as i've not yet played it but from images i'd say at least 13.8mill and obviously MML1 aka MM64 made enough to be sequenced so far MML2 hasnt
me: i'm jsut glad we have MML to begin with all can really say though,is while MLL3 would be nice, it's been so long that i dont quite think it'd feel the same as MML1/2 so i'm not so sure anymore if i want an MML3 or not, perhaps when i see MML2's endgame cinema i'll know where i stand in this
but hey, let's just be happy we've got what we've got i have a saying: counting my blessings may seems tedious when i want something, but as long as i accept i may not get that something, and remain happy for what i do have, then i'm not let down or dejected by it, because i'm still blessed
