As a Nintendo fan. I am exited about it on the 3DS. But many on Capcom Unity are not happy about a handheld release. Does anyone here feel bad about it too?
Thoughts?

We kind of already have a topic like this here: “ Which system should MML3 be for?” In answer to your question, yes, absolutely. I'm not even a Nintendo fan. In fact, I hate Nintendo's rotten guts, but I think the 3DS was not only a good choice for Legends 3, but the absolute best possible choice they could've made. I don't even mind that I may have to shell out as much as $300.00 just for the console. Because that's just how much I can see Legends working on that system. And it's modern enough to satisfy me — it's nice to see that they're not moving backwards. I would've been thoroughly disappointed if it had been a release for regular DS or PSP. (with different reasons for either) EDIT: Of course, I would've bought it either way. Just wanted to make that clear. I couldn't care less that it's not on a home console. Portable MegaMan Legends is fantastic. The games play like a dream — a beautiful, wonderful dream. (I wish I could actually convince people of this, but alas, no one listens...) But the current options for portable consoles would not do the series justice. 3DS is easily the best choice for that medium.

I am, for all the reasons Pitch just stated...only I don't hate Nintendo's guts. I don't play the Console Wars game. I haven't bought a console since the early 2000's, and that was a PS2 for Mega Man Legends 3, just in case. I'm gaming for Legends and nothing else...people have given me systems before, and I've taken them, but I will actually purchase a 3DS for Legends 3. Mark my word.

And, technically, the 3DS is more powerful than the PS2. I'm all about this, even if I was already going to buy a 3DS. Think about how much exposure MML3 will get being on this system as opposed to the PS3. I'm sold.

(That's so 2006) Shoot, I've got DS and PSP and an equally-sized library for both. If anything, I'm more impartial. It just happens that I despise Nintendo's gaming philosophy and style these days. I have plenty of games I love for my DS, but they're all third-party. If there were enough third-party games I wanted for it, I'd buy a Wii too. It's really nothing to do with console wars. I only mentioned it because my perspective of Legends on 3DS has nothing to do with anything resembling Nintendo fandom.

I was under the impression that most people over at CU are fine with a 3DS release. It' just like 2-3 people sockpuppeting, starting new threads. For some reason people keep bumping those threads, probably because they disagree. To the casual observer, it might look like people agree because there are so many replies to the threads.

I really don't really care abo0ut teh system it is for... but I'm glad it is to a new console.. Nintendo or not, portable or not. Its new. ANd probably will gain more fame with that.
I heard that was Capcom's main goal with MML3, make it to a recent system so it won't have competition. And I say it is a very smart move from their part.

Yes, I was really disappointed that it's gonna be on the 3DS. After all that long wait I wanted a game that I can allow to explode on my face like you-know-what with all the graphics and my big monitor, not a gimmick screen for which I have to flinch just to read the text. I don't want that because I adore graphics more than gameplay; I don't, Suikoden and Shadow Hearts are some of my best games and yet they're awful graphically.
BUT, after a decade of wait there is nothing you want more than 42+ inches of Servbots exploding in your face; we just want LEGENDS to shoved up our faces and retinas. The Bonnes insignia reflecting all over my face, you know?
OR, Nintendo makes a way to play the 3DS on a big screen, that'd be great.

It's Mega Man Legends 3 on a really awesome system small enough for me to take places.
I'm totally good with this.

I really wanted to play the game on a big screen, and the depth perception trick isn't enough for me. However, unlike many others I know, I'm willing to take this if it means that there will be limited competition from other brands, a way to play it on the go, and sheer practicality for a guy who is constantly stuck in marching band for the first semester or so. Unfortunately, however, it also means that we have more limited control possibilities for the new game--not too happy about it, but Capcom can't go over budget with this one.

My only concern is the length. How long is this game going to be? I hope as long, if not longer than MegaMan Legends 2.
I plan on buying a 3DS. However not right away. $300 is a bit steep for a handheld. Thats more expensive than a 360 or Wii. If it comes down to it, and I do NOT own a 3DS. I will STILL purchase MML3 regardless. I'm not letting this slip away like Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

My only concern is the length. How long is this game going to be? I hope as long, if not longer than MegaMan Legends 2. The capacity of a 3DS cartridge at launch is something like 2GB. I think they can fit a decent sized game on there. I hear you. I don't think I'll have trouble saving up enough for a 3DS by the time Legends 3 ships, but even if I have to wait a month or two to be able to afford the console, I will be getting Legends 3 on release day. No exceptions. I'm tempted to buy two copies; one to play and one to cherish forever and ever. <3

I'm rather statifised by a release on the 3DS. The legends series isn't that popular to even rate a release on a home console. Most people would see a copy of it and go "What the fudge is it" and carry on with the plan of the day. They would never relize they would be missing a wonderful expereince.
Also I doubt the legends series could keep up with some of the games on the bigger systems anyway. (I.E. GTA, HALO, KILLZONE, Zelda, etc)
It could play out to be a gta clone like most companies have based some of their games on. As funny as I think it would be to see Trigger carjack someboody to turn into Black Mega man, it wouldn't fit into the legends universe.
The only thing I would want is the a jack for the 3ds so you can play the games on a bigger screen if you felt like it. Sometimes I just don't like looking down all of the time. It hurts my neck. Pain = no bueno for the Rage.

Everybody, get out! Incoming nerd rant! Run for your lives! My only concern is the length. How long is this game going to be? I hope as long, if not longer than MegaMan Legends 2. Inafune-sama's totally awesome game Dead Rising 2, which I talk about way too often on this board, takes place over three in-game days, with each in-game minute being only 5 real-life seconds. Do the math. That's only six hours of gameplay. That's because there's so much optional stuff to do, you can't possibly do it all in one game. Meaning, even after you beat the game, you find yourself still playing it. This is how all games should be made. Games that take an ungodly amount of time to complete influence me to do one of two things: 1.) give up halfway (if the game isn't that good, as is usually the case these days) or 2.) beat them, then not play them again for a long, long time. I'd hate for this to be the fate of Rockman DASH 3. It could play out to be a gta clone like most companies have based some of their games on. As funny as I think it would be to see Trigger carjack someboody to turn into Black Mega man, it wouldn't fit into the legends universe. Isn't "Black Mega Man" the name of a movie from the 70s? (Edit: I just noticed your Halloween name! Ahahaha! Priceless!) Anyway, the great Inafune's "Game of the Year" material Dead Rising 2, which I talk about way too often on this board, is most definitely inspired by Grand Theft Auto. It makes sense how much of a GTA fan the incredible Inafune is, considering Capcom publishes the series in Japan, and how he's always talking about Japanese games being crap. In interviews, he's said Rockman DASH was intended to be like GTA3 (which, mind you, came after DASH 2), and even that he'd be willing to consider having Rockman DASH 3 produced by Rockstar Games! What I'm trying to say is, what you said is very likely. Also, if Rock Volnutt is a deputy of the Kattelox Police Force, it's possible he may be allowed to steal cars. The only thing I would want is the a jack for the 3ds so you can play the games on a bigger screen if you felt like it. Sometimes I just don't like looking down all of the time. It hurts my neck. Pain = no bueno for the Rage. I agree; that would be a great feature for the 3DS. There are plenty of Linux-based handheld gaming devices with TV output, such as the GP2X Caanoo. Hmmmm… I wonder if the Windows version of our almighty lord and master Keiji Inafune's latest absolute museum-quality mastercraft Dead Rising 2, which I talk about way too often on this board, can be played on Linux…
