Wait, woah, hold it! You mean I didn't get banned from Unity for that? Well dang. :25: Well, folks, I guess a little bit of risk taking can go a long way indeed. Yeah, pretty much. I don't think Capcom Unity cares. You're getting more heat from the fans of Star Force — all five of them. ;D Oh, that was a good one. They can go and boil their bottoms for all I care. A few of the haters happen to be Star Force fans- the fact that they're eating crow over the exposure of Dashe's videos very satisfying.

Hey guys, Trege submitted a late entry, it's up in the first post!

Hurray, I'm glad the video is getting so much exposure!
I don't know why the Star Force fans are getting upset. I can see why they might go for a second, but really.....it's nothing to cry over. I absolute love Star Force, but I can take a joke, semi-serious or not. Or maybe I can just take it better, since I've gotten so much criticism over being a Pokemon fan (at the lovely age of 21) AND a fan of every Mega Man series. Bring it. They need to lighten up a bit.

Hah. Trege's entry was nifty. I've never played this type of game before. Took some getting used to. I was trial-and-error'ing the hell out of it before I was able to get anywhere. But yeah. I thought the trial was pretty nifty, if a bit predictable in the end. And it was pretty phun. Nice work, Trege! EDIT: Oh, I'm totally just teasing the Star Force folks. Those games look incredibly phun actually.

Personally, I'd say the Star Force fans should just stew in their own juices. It brings out the flavor. Just finished seeing Trege's entry. It's been a long time since I played the PW games, so it took some getting used to. Lots of fun overall, one-upping Tron in court. Edgeworth better watch out- Trigger could give him a run for his money as much as Phoenix has.

Alright, my submission is finally in. Sorry for the delay. Long story short, it took me much (much much much) longer to get Flash and ImageReady to behave themselves than I anticipated. And I see I got mine in just in time to be shown up by JMC and Trege on the fangame front. :03: Related to mine: link. I cheated slightly in that I’ve been working on this on and off for a while, so half my work was done for me already. Which isn’t to say that putting my submission together in a few days wasn’t a chore, but I came in with an unfair advantage. As for an explanation... Mine is really only tangentially related to the whole 10-year anniversary thing, but the relation is there. Basically, when I started off in the playing the games so many years ago, I wasn’t really sure what it was that attracted me to them. I just enjoyed them. Those sentiments stuck with me for years; long enough for the reasons behind them to become somewhat clearer to me. The world was just an interesting place. It was a world made up of countless islands, no two quite the same (or at least, so the ones in the game would have us believe). I was attracted by the possibilities this offered. The feeling that I was running around in a world of unknown things waiting to be figured out. Now take that and compound it with endless underground ruin systems of mysterious origin (... or mostly mysterious anyway, as of the second game), and you’ve got something that’ll hold my attention. I liked speculating. About how the economies worked, where the food came from, and the world functioned in general. Many theories were put forward. On several occasions, the subject of how things would work as an MMO came up. There were many possibilities. The culmination of those speculations on my end was basically a sheet of generic class designs that could be used in such an MMO, which I updated infrequently as a side thing. The first one was pretty suck, but the following ones were slightly less suck. Then I actually decided to try putting a simple game together using the ideas behind those designs and lost a lot of sleep. This demo is basically a quick test of one of the 11. It’s the most boring of the bunch, but it was the easiest to do the graphics for, so here we are. In some ways, this is THE result of all the speculation I've heard over the years. Or at least, a part of the result. (It was the graphics that killed me here time-wise, I feel I should note. This was my first time making any kind of game, so it took a bit to figure out what worked and what didn’t, and then how to get the stuff that did work to look decent. I’m quite proud of just having figured out how to get everything down to 256 colors myself.) Anyway... it SHOULD work. Only bug I could find was that occasionally an enemy will freeze up and stop responding (very bad if this happens and you need to kill it to unlock a door), but it was relatively rare and if I went to hunt down its cause it probably would have delayed me another day. This is still a WIP, so if anything weird does start happening (walking through walls, resolution being messed up, computer implosions, etc), please do tell me. I'd also like to know how natural the controls feel, if you don't mind. (EDIT: Oh, right, and a minor graphical glitch where the life/buster bars will briefly show up in the wrong place at the start of a room. Shouldn't affect anything else, though.) (EDIT 2: FFFFFF, OK, one more I just found going through again. It's possible to get yourself to move and block at the same time. Didn't catch that. Doesn't look like it'll reduce damage, but you can spam counterattacks that way... Will have to fix that later.) (EDIT 3: Oh, forget it. Fixed stuff and sent Dashe the update. Now I sleep.) Anyway, was going to comment on everyone else’s stuff (I admit, I’ve been so wrapped up in things I haven’t even looked through most of them yet), but it’s gotten late, so later. I look forward to seeing what it is about Dashe’s that’s drawn so much attention, though. Good job with that.

Damn, mlt, this has improved a lot from the demo you showed me! :18: Very nice.It took me a few tries; I probably died a dozen times or so, but I've managed to find all the refractors, and lived to tell the tale. ∗ victory fist pump! ∗ (unless you hid a fourth refractor somewhere... o__o) That boss for the red refractor was tough stuff. Oh man, and the Zakobons toward the end... that's an evil bastard move if I ever saw one. (you know, in the good way) Oh man. That was very awesome. Great job. Just a thought, but maybe you could give more of an incentive to destroy reaverbots. It didn't take me very long to realize that it was a lot easier to make it through the game if I just ran like hell to get to the refractors. There's no zenny or health dropped that I noticed, unless it's really really rare. Maybe you could implement something simple/silly like a score counter or something. Actually, high scores at the end of that game might've been nifty. But yeah, just a thought. EDIT: Ooh hey, outlandish request, but I don't suppose you'd be willing to show me the source code? (preferably in a format I can read >__<) (Man.. it's gonna be hard to choose which of these to vote for. :01:)

Jeez, I leave for a few months and I'm indirectly bashed. <_< That's a nice way to come back.
I was thinking of making something but after seeing all this, mine would be nothing but ****.

Man, I just said I didn't really hate Star Force. Maybe it'd be more obvious it was just a lighthearted jab if any of you had actually heard the original song...? Either way, I had no intention of that video winding up anywhere but Legends Station, so...er... Check, please. Anyway, MLT, the game is awesome. Like, jawdroppingly awesomely awesome. It controls really well now, though I kind of wish I had the option to get buster upgrades, since the recharge still seems a little slow. I keep getting stuck after the first refractor though. And I still don't see a weapon/life gauge...

Aw crap! I'm late to the party AGAIN. Why do I always do that? I had a huge party last weekend at my own house and I even managed to be late to THAT.
Anyways, I loved it all. Dashe, yours was adorable, I want to share it with all my friends but unfortunately none of them would understand. I might do something even if it the deadline already passed (I owe it to the series... and my already lacking set of fan art). However, I do already have a movie I have to make for college apps, and for a couple film festivals, and for oceanography club, and for the local access channel... so I probably can't get to it for a while.

Thanks on the demo, guys.
I made at least a handful of bastard moves putting the rooms together, I think. Putting the path to the red refractor where I did was playing kind of dirty. I was in a bit of a rush, though. >_>
Also, no, there's just the three refractors. If you got the red refractor, you've seen everything already. Yeah, drops and high scores were two things I wanted to add in, but which would have taken me another day or two to put together. A counter to keep track of how many enemies you killed almost made it in, but because enemies respawn endlessly right now (unless you destroy everything in one room), it would have made something like that worthless. You could just go back and forth between rooms (or be crafty with the boss) until your score is as high as you want it. Next time. Yeah, I don't mind. I was going to post the source up anyway once everything was finished and I had a chance to clean it up.
You need Multimedia Fusion 2, though (not sure if you need Developer version or not, but it couldn't hurt). I considered your suggestion about the buster. It seemed reasonable back then since the only enemy in the last version was the Zakoban, and it was easily defeated with just the Normal Arm. And the normal arm didn't have to recharge. So the buster felt underpowered. I felt the addition of the FooRoo balanced that out, though. The buster was much more useful against them because of the range (at least imo).
As for the bars being missing, that is odd. Could you send me a screenshot of what your screen looks like? It might be cutting off or something.
Anyway, looking through the other entries now.

Yeah, that was pretty nicely hidden. But it's cool because it's in a nice strategic location. I was using that corner to jump up and snipe the Foo-roo when I realized there was a hidden passage there. I thought it was a great place to hide it. Actually, I thought your stage design in general was excellent. It took me forever to figure out how to get the long jump up to even get up to the Yellow Refractor room too. I felt silly when I finally figured it out. JSYK, you can make it without dashing at the end, but it is not easy. @__@ Aww, well that's too bad. I was kind of suspecting that there might be a hidden giant refractor. Still, I'm impressed that you have even this much. Awesome awesome work. But unless you're really skilled you're going to get raped the process. @___@ Aiming for a high score would be tricky business. Ack. I don't suppose I could get you to copy/paste it into a nice Notepad-friendly format? >__<

Alright, here we go! In order: fab: This is very nice. It's simple, nothing flashy, a fitting plain statement. It's hard to believe 30 Mega Man games have been made since MML2 was released- that's like half the total number of games released! The changing dates at the top had me reflecting on other events that happened in my life during the wait...you truly gave the passing of time its proper sense of scale. Pitch: These are really cool. These look really smooth and professional, all while being a good combination of HG/SS's style and Legends design. I especially like how Roll and Yuna look; they're easily the best, IMO. Wonderful! Ravenf6: Your modern day version of Trigger is excellent, as is Edgar. The detail present and the smooth lines made this a really nice piece. Very enjoyable. :32: Blues: A clarifying note: making a Gorubeshu out of Lego is not just a random choice; I've been familiar with the basic system for about as long as I've known Legends, and have tried very hard to improve my technique and building prowess over the years. My full gallery has some of my most recent works; I hope that helps to give a good understanding of my recent skill level! The Gorubeshu model uses a lot of the technique called 'Studs not on top', which allows models to have better shape and stronger structure. I've only ever used it proper once before, and not to as great an extent, so this was not only a fun build of one of my favorite reaverbots, but also a personal challenge to myself as well. I hope this gives you a better perspective on everything that went into the making of this model! :0A: [/sup] Raijin: The improvement between the two pieces is phenomenal, especially when comparing the fireball and Juno's battle body. The lighting and shadows are top-notch. Darfox8: I love it! ;D If I had a PS3 and LBP, I would play this level all the time. Special mention to the 'unreleased games' section (appropriately creepy!) and the little comments made by NPCs during the platforming segments. TronBonne: Great work! You have immense musical talent. The Flutter theme on flute got stuck in my head for a while. And IMO, your rendition of Naite Li Yo is a true show of skill! Dashe: This video is amazing. Seriously. ;D I keep finding myself singing random lines from this video- the delivery is just so great. I like all the expressions and details, even if the animation isn't super smooth. Still, what matters here is the message and spirit- which is present in spades. Excellently done! Among all the great lines, my favorites were:
Lil' Dashe:*turns away* "Skip ahead, skip ahead!..."
Hip Dashe: "Someone made a post on 1UP; holy crap, it's Legends 3!"
Miss Dashe: "Are you there, Capcom? It's me, your fanbase. I swear, seriously, I would sell my soul for this game and kill puppies...and I know I am not the only one!" Buster Cannon: Wow. Just...wow. The interface is easy to use and very nice looking (MML2 : D ). It's great to have all the information organized in one place. Good job! Trege: You've really captured the feel of a PW case. I'm still stuck on the last part, but all in all it's got a great Legends/Ace Attorney combo vibe going on. mltmlt22: This is a fun game. I like the smooth animation, and the atmosphere/colors for the ruins and digger. Still trying to find everything but from what I've seen so far it's well made. So far so good, Melty, and here's to it getting even better! By the way, the little instruction sheet is hilarious. XD

Oooh phun, more comments. Pitch: These are really cool. These look really smooth and professional, all while being a good combination of HG/SS's style and Legends design. I especially like how Roll and Yuna look; they're easily the best, IMO. Wonderful! Ah yeah, thank you. You're right, Roll and Yuna are probably the best ones. Roll was the first one I did up, and I was experimenting with her like crazy. I really tried ridiculously hard to get it to look juuuust right. It really boosted my enthusiasm after she was done, but it was exhausting, especially after not doing anything like this for so long. And of course, I put all my love of Yuna into doing her sprite, so she turned out as well as she did. (Even though she was a last-minute addition — it would've been weird if I'd submitted something without Yuna, after all...) Tron and Sera, much as I love them, were mostly done up out of necessity. (I couldn't draw Roll and then not draw Tron. That's blasphemy! I wouldn't stand for that! =D) I tried to put all my effort into them just the same as Roll and Yuna, but it was hard to get as motivated.. Hah. And your description of LEGOs/etc was nifty. I had no idea it was that much serious business. o__o I wish I were so serious about building stuff with LEGOs...
