I certain don't want Legends 3 to feel like Mario 64..
Well, actually, I'm still not all that excited about a swimming feature either.
Although an underwater dash sounds cool, and it doesnt sound like jetpacks would work underwater.

Let Megaman swim around all he wants when he's chilling at the pool with Roll and Yuna. How's that for context? Sounds fine if by “Roll and Yuna” you mean Tron and only Tron. (Roll doesn't deserve him and Yuna is mine)

You could configure the Jet Pack/Hover Boots/Hippopotamus (whatever) to work underwater and act as a hydro-jet of sorts, which would work excellently--it would also use far less energy, mainly due to it containing fuel cells (lol). That would be the best compromise to the situation. The whole room wouldn't be submerged anyways, so some areas in a room are above water and would be difficult to access.

(Roll doesn't deserve him and Yuna is mine) Well technically, you ARE zombie "Volnutt" aren't you? Isn't that the same thing as giving Yuna to Rock? And you can't separate the Rock from the Roll. A wise servbot once said to a cooked Tron, "...it was a good plan, but their bond with each other can't be broken." However, maybe we should throw Sera in there, for good measure. Pool party! General Specific- Well, I actually like that idea much more than a swimming Megaman. It's sort of like how the Aqua Jets function the exact same way as the Jet skates, so I suppose it's all good.

It's okay. I had forgotten about the submerged Nino Ruins myself, and I had to look it up on the Tube. --I want a Jet Pack Hippopotamus now.

Well technically, you ARE zombie "Volnutt" aren't you? You know how a Halloween name works, eh? My real handle around here is “Green,” but you can also call me “Pitch...” People tend to like that name better. But if I really am Volnutt then I can say I want Tron and win as easy as that? 'Cause I would do that too. (I'm a Tron fanboy too, you see. <3) And you totally can separate the Rock from the Roll — musicians have been doing it for ages now. Oh my. Did I just turn this topic into another Roll vs. Tron topic? If they bring back the Aqua Jets I hope they treat them more like a patch for the jetskates and not a separate item that you have to equip whenever you go underwater. >.< And an aqua Jet-pack would be fun, but that would totally break the game — even more than swimming! (then again, hopefully if you can see why an Aqua Jet Pack would break the game, you can see why just a normal one would as well.)

Nope, I wouldn't change this to a Roll V. Tron debate any time ever!
--Except the regular Jet Pack doesn't have low-as-hell gravity that lets you jump really high and get away with it. You get like 7 seconds of usage out of the Jet Pack (probably--I haven't finalized that part yet, but that count is close), while the Aqua Jets are generally understandable. You wouldn't have to use the Jet Pack for story dungeons at all, and there wouldn't be any areas designed to only be accessible via the item in those maps. Advanced side-dungeons would be using it to the fullest extent.

Perhaps the dev. team will improve the A.I to the point that the affectionately dubbed "Ultimate technique" no longer remains as a viable strategy. I'd love to see the face on the players when they try that on a sharukurusu only to find that it dodges the shots and takes them down to the ground.
Makes for a nice wake up call when that happens. Especially when the one dealing the damage is a zakobon.

It'll make fights a lot more interesting, to say the least. I've been wanting a really hard MML for quite a while, and that should come around in Hard and Very Hard difficulties.
Now then, topic change!:
New Dungeons!

Well, I do believe this is appropriate now: I've plugged this idea before, but I would really love to see a Hundred Floor Ruin side game. It would probably be unlocked after completing the game as well; and would be accessed either from ingame or as a bonus mode off the title screen. Basically, you would start off in a massive, hundred floored ruin(kinda like the title would suggest! : without any equipment whatsoever. This ruin would be semi-randomized, including many types of graphical designs, themes, and reaverbots per area. Most likely these designs and themes would be from the main game's ruins, but also some exclusive ones. After every 5-10 floors, the theme would change. These themes would incorporate various things: puzzle types, reaverbots, elements, obstacles, and music. Basically, maybe five floors of the ruin would be similar to Manda Island's ruins, and five others, Clozer Woods. Each theme would have many different sorts of "presents" that it would structure their floor around; think of these as different concepts that would be applied in each floor. These would not be set things; just overarching "ideas" that the randomization would be built around to prevent things from getting stale. As you traversed the ruins, you would find everything you need to survive. All of the items of the main game would be able to be found in these ruins, and every so often inbetween floors you would have the opportunity to find a secret room with Roll and Data in, and perhaps a Junk Shop/Store, to stock up on items, develop, recharge and save. I think with every theme change, there should be an accompanied boss before you moved to the next theme. Now, there'd also be bonus stages and mission stages. In Bonus Stages, you would play through minigames for points, zenny, and/or items. Maybe a return of Jetskate races, Beast Hunter, and Balloon Fantasy? In Mission Stages, you would... well, do one of MegaMan Legends' famous missions! Battle through Bonne and/or Glyde forces, fight a non-Reaverbot boss, or solve a puzzle or timed objective. These rounds would be spaced out throughout the themes. It would work like this: Floor 1-5 - Manda Island themedFloor 1-Floor 2-Floor 3-Roll/Data/Store Floor 4-Mission Stage-Blumebears Mk.II Floor 5-Boss Stage-Galgalfummi Bonus Stage- Beast Hunter Floors 6-10 - Clozer Woods themedAnd so on and so forth.

This would be orgasmic for after you beat the storyline, and this puts the License Test to shame--no duh it does. This is a no-brainer to put in the new game, unless there are memory constraints to deal with, but should we be able to access it at any time or after a certain time, i.e. when the story is complete or when you find the ruin?
And for a better ruin name--I'm going with Centurion Ruin for now.

You know, I'd like to have another ruins mission where Trigger and Tron are forced to work together again due to unforeseen circumstances and Roll is spotting for them. It would make for some humorous moments.
Roll: "Hey, Tron, there's a door on your left. Do you see it?"
Tron: "Yeah."
Roll: "I'm getting readings of a large refractor! You should investigate."
Tron: "Don't mind if I do!" *Tron enters the chamber with her Gustaff to find herself faced with an intimidating looking reaverbot.* "U-Um, Roll?!"
Roll: "Oh, I'm sorry, Tron. I got the reading totally wrong. What I actually meant to say was that I was getting readings of a large Reaverbot from that room. Good luck!"

That would probably be part of the story knowing anything--SIMSteven over at MMLU figured that the Bonnes would have to stay with the Casketts until they were ready to rebuild their ship. This could be a really funny early dungeon if the story goes with that route.

Wowzers, this thread came out of no-where and exploded. I missed the whole control discussion, although looking over it I didn't really have much to add.
I love the idea of a 100 floor dungeon. Not sure how hardcore it should be though. I mean, a 100 floor dungeon has to be hardcore but even I wont play it if you have to get through all of it at once or just too much of it at once.
I also feel like most of the Ruins should have extra areas you can't access the first time through, like both previous games had. But this time around it'd be cool if you could give Roll extra money to "research" the dungeon you already explored so she could give you hints as to why you should revisit certain dungeons. For instance "There are a lot of hollow walls in this Ruin so now that you have the Drill Arm you might want to re-explore." or similar messages for other weapons or equipment. I guess this system being too explicit may take away some of the fun of self discovery but I think if handled well it can be a benefit to all type of players.

@zombievolnutt- Oh so "you're" Green! I remember you from when I was still shadowing the site...weren't you the one who was a firm unbeliever in the creation of Legends 3 before it was announced? Lol, well anyway, please name ONE time when Megaman Volnutt called Tron by her first name...I don't think he even remembers her name?
Gah, back on topic... A 100-floor dungeon would definitely be an awesome idea... I wonder if the 3DS can hold that kind of data with no problem? Actually, now that I think about it, how much something like this contribute to the story-line? Surely such a massive ruin would've sparked the attention of diggers all over Terra before...
Of course, something like this probably wouldn't be playable through one play through, so it'd be wise to have save points on the way down. And an option to go back up whenever you wish...imagine having to climb all the elevators you took, from the 1st floor ALL the way back up to the top...ugh. Better have some nice elevator music to listen to.
Also, the idea that the dungeon should be slightly randomized is also cool, and definitely adds to the replay value so revisiting this dungeon doesn't become stale anytime soon. However, this function kind of reminds me of the video game Chocobo's Dungeon in a way, not that it's a bad thing necessarily.
However, I'm not sure about the idea of having shops, mini-games and such in this dungeon, since it kind of takes away from the feel that this really is the ultimate mysterious dungeon that for some reason, never stays the same.
