Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that's what it turned out to be. (and not in the good way) I would've gotten a kick out of Captain N MegaMan. I also kind of half believed it might be another something green. (or another one that someone most likely suggested before)Although, if what the Capcom Unity post says is true, this may be a good sign... kind of. You know what this does, right? It totally opens the door for all KINDS of crazy DLC characters! Maybe we'll get something more outrageous and cool. EDIT: Moar MegaMan Universe infos I don't think I saw posted anywhere else here today. So, we will have some preloaded stages, and what they are going to be are all the levels from Mega Man 2. So the original classic Mega Man 2 will be faithfully replicated in the Mega Man Universe style. Users will be able to play through all of them and defeat the bosses there. As for the story, right now we haven’t worked out all the details, but some of the characters may get some sort of background to explain why they are there or what their purpose is. Some of them may not, and they will just be there for fun. We can’t reveal too much, but eventually we may have downloadable content that explains why Ryu is in the world. We hope that people will look forward to new content that will tie together the world. I think it was kind of apparent from some of the early footage, but still. MegaMan 2. Pretty cool.

Warning! This post is very long! TL;DR summaries are available to those who hate reading as much as I do!The thing I'm most curious about is if Inafune's promotion even put him in a high enough position to give him the power he'd been saying he needed to get DASH3 in the works. I really don't think that's the problem anymore. I'm not exactly fluent in business mumbo jumbo, but I'm pretty sure "Global Head of Production" and "Head of Research and Production" means "I'M THE BAWSS!". The man even has a solid gold Rockman statue in his office! As for what the real problem is, well, I think he told us that already. "My big fear is that, if we did start doing it, investing all that time and money into it, the fans would just say, 'we don’t need that.'" In other words, the only thing stopping him is his fear that we're not dedicated enough, which is a problem we can solve more than he can. That was the idea behind my fan game from the very beginning, even before this information became known. Basically, I wanted to make something awesome that would just make Capcom go, "Okay, these guys are insane. We'd better pay closer attention to them." (Even if they mean that in a bad way. No publicity is bad publicity.) Too bad no programmers seem to like my ideas… TL;DR - The problem is that Inafune honestly has no idea how badly we want the game, so we should prove that to him with actual evidence.I'm afraid that would indeed be the case. he should have made a radiohead-esque move and asked people to donate what they could to the cause. surely that would prove that there we are out here. i'm only half-kidding, of course. I always wished I could talk to him about that. Dashe (or was it someone else?) made me aware of a website called Kickstarter that was founded for that very purpose. In addition, in an interview last year, game industry giant (in more ways than one) Gabe Newell said some very interesting things. First, he said it's best to approach the business from the perspective of a fan; that is, do whatever would be really exciting to do, without worrying about budget or any of that. Second, he said piracy only exists because of bad service; that is, his company sells the exact same version of every game to everyone regardless of where they live, in any language/localization they want, without any form of invasive DRM, and as a result, piracy is not an issue for them. Most importantly, however, is that he also said he's really interested in a system where the Steam community can chip in to fund $10m-30m games (obviously, DASH 3's $15m falls into that range) that interest them. In return, they would actually own part of the game, kind of like how buying stock in Capcom would mean you own part of Capcom. Capcom was the very first Japanese company to support Steam, and they continue to do so, with Dead Rising 2 coming out on Steam very soon. Combine that with two things we know: Keiji Inafune is currently obsessed with cooperating with western developers, and he's gone on record as saying the money for DASH 3 could come from other companies. Since there are 1.5 million people online on Steam at this very moment (keeping in mind that it's nighttime, when less people are online), I really don't see how coming up with several million dollars with this method would be difficult at all. If only I could get Keiji and Gabe in the same room together… TL;DR - There are already ways fans could fund a $15m game, including one involving Steam, of which Capcom is already a major supporter.Hopefully we can still even things out by getting some characters in there that pander to the nostalgia of our generation while leaving Japanese fans feel alienated and confused. It's only fair. You mean like Hilarious North American Box Art Mega Man? He's already confirmed as a main character!

No, no, that's even more of a joke to the Japanese. They already included it in MMZXA. They make fun of us for that. We need something they don't already recognize. I think Captain N MM would fit the bill nicely enough.

Guys could this be it!??! Hideki Kamiya is a former employee of Capcom (he was one of the Clover Studios members that left). He posted this on his Twitter recently. It's known that he still is in touch with some of his old co-workers at Capcom. Could this be a hint towards a soon-to-be-revealed character or Megaman Legends 3? Oh man..This is too much right now....We already have Tron in MvC3...what else will we get? Story here: protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/

one could analyze that and explain why it is silly to get your hopes up... or just simply say:
believe. :22:
i think... i have to go play right now, to prepare myself mentally for any disappointment.
and take a second to realize that this is a VERY bold assumption to make. will we be "happy?"

Hmm that is a very interesting statement. Will you guys be happy if Volnutt gets in MvC3?
Will you guys be happy if we get a Legends artbook or something? We'll see.

I'll be happy with just about anything Legends-related, except for fanfics of the strange, mentally-scarring variety. :01: The artbook, I would want very badly. Volnutt in MvC3? Hell yes. Both for Christmas? YES PLEASE.

When I got my reply back from Kamiya-san (I am OKeijiDragon BTW, the one who asked him about Rockman DASH), I was perplexed. I was like "HOLY ****".
Plus around that same time, he posted a picture of him and Kawano san at the TGS that's happening right now. I thought the timing was interesting too. He also said to believe in Kawano-san.
Wonder what all this means?
Also, may just be taking this out of context, but on his first tweet about DASH he said:
あ…最後に… 昼間に紹介したカプコンの河野さんはロックマンDASH作った でもあるんだけど、とあるユーザーからの「DASHの続編作っ て欲しい」という要望を伝えたら、なんかニヤリとしてたよ …いい事あるといいね…おやすみ…
「DASHの続編作って欲しい」, or "I want make a sequel to DASH". Kamiya wants to do DASH 3? Interesting.
(I meant to point out, what I thought he said, his wish to make DASH 3. I'm aware he said he wasn't working on it.)

@ OKeijiDragon: Then let's hope that Kamiya's wish comes true, huh?
All: I just hope the green thing's supposed to be the Gesellschaft, otherwise I might not make it through this week with a happy mood. (Or did someone already prove that it wasn't the Gesellschaft?)

OMG this could be the real deal...Hideki Kamiya used to work at Capcom, and I think he worked on the Legends games? Anyways, what would he stand to benefit from lying about a possible MML3 announcement? Here is a rough translation of what he said through twitter.
“Oh, finally, I was introduced to Capcom’s Kawano-san today, who was also the maker of Rockman DASH. But when I told him the wish to “make a sequel to DASH” from a certain person, he gave me some sort of grin… If it’s good it’s good I suppose… Goodnight.”
More recently, in response to someone who asked about him mentioning Rockman DASH, he wrote (in English): “If you’re Dash fan, you’ll be happy soon,” and soon followed up (in Japanese): “I’m astounded at the number of reactions to some murmuring over Rockman DASH… It is loved by its fans.” He finally response to more inqueries about DASH (in English) with: “But you gotta believe Kawano san!”

So, it seems we'll get something DASH-related soon... And here I am with my Internet connection dead! I'll probably miss the news or announcement.

Who knows? If it's a game that Capcom's going to bring overseas, you'll probably hear the reactions from wherever you are, Internet or otherwise. That ought to put the fandom on the map for sure... Rockman DASH 3 Announcement Causes Destructive Seismic Activity! | Upon the announcement of Capcom's newest, highly-anticipated Rockman title today at 4h00 CST, the reactions of millions of insomniac fans worldwide jumping up and down and shouting obscenities in a strange mixture of joy, shock, and relief, caused a massive tremor to literally rock the globe. This tremor measured a 2.5 on the Richter Scale and disrupted the sleep of billions and caused the death and/or further hearing loss of several octogenarians in the Tokyo area. Today marks the first instance in history when a video game announcement has been literally felt worldwide by gamers and non-gamers alike, and ought to be excellent publicity on Capcom's part.
For anyone not in the know, many of these fans have been waiting ten years for this title's announcement. A team of investigators is now collecting the names of all fans of the series involved in the event for publication in the Guinness Book of World Records. |

Well, these boots do have +20 Seismic Activity, so...
Man, I really don't know what to make of this. I'm leaning more on "not happening," as opposed to earlier, but I really don't know.
