Does he want to make it, or if he just saying that? I really don't think it ould be that big a financial difficulty(correct me if I am totally wrong in that assumption). So does he really want to make it or is he just saying that to make those of us that like it happy?  |

I remember reading several articles where he did, numerous times, mention that he definitely WANTS to do it, but he probably can't AFFORD to do it, considering the other Rockman Dash games' poor sales....  or  |

The point is, is he being honest when he says that or is he just trying to please the fans? Pretty hard to miss idea if you read the first post actually, now that I look at it. o_ó I think he's just saying it. Upon further consideration I've decided that's all you need to know with regard to my thoughts on the matter. If you read my post prior to this editing, my advice would be to forget all about it.  |

Unless they intend to re-release the previous games via XBLA or PN, or whatever Nintendo's got, they're really gonna have to find some way to fill that gap in time. Kiddies are gonna have their mommies and daddies buy 'em the next monthly dime a dozen Megaman game to keep them occupied for 5 minutes, only to realize when they get home from the vid'ya store that they got the wrong game! What's this!? Who are all these well rounded, strange characters? I've never seen them before. They talk a lot. Build weapons? I don't know how to do that. What's going on? What's this "Motherlode" hoopla? Who's that master guy? Megaman's different looking. Why does his armor look like it's made out of tin cans? I can't get past the first dungeon. Without a stage select I get lost. I'm scared. And then they sell the $50 game back to GameStop for $5.00. Store ****ing credit. And Inafune gets ****ly raped by his scary jap higher ups. Then a decade later he's like uh yeah I'd love to make good games but I get raped for it.And that's the brutal truth of the situation. Who can really blame him? Time is a straight line. Opportunities are never going to come his way again. There's never going to be a time when making a Megaman adventure game would be beneficial to the company anymore. That time has past.In short, he's lying. And he has every reason to be. |

Whatever his personal feeling are on the matter, Inafune is a businessman. Legends 3 would be far too expensive to develop and its sales would be too poor to justify making it.
Then a decade later he's like uh yeah I'd love to make good games but I get raped for it.
InCLOVER has said it pretty succinctly, actually.

CRAP. STUPIDO CHEAP MODERN VIDGAME PLAYERS.
"Agh, I can't beat this game, I've tried three minutes and I can't get past this RPG's first level! Argh, I hate dialogue, the story doesn't make sense, I keep pressing the A button but I can't skip this stupid cutscene that explains the enjoyment of the game, this game isn't Halo so it sucks, any game that's not a fighter, a racer, or a first-person shooter should be taken off the market and be dismantled and degraded..."
Phew. Sorry, had to let that one off.

I'd like to point out the fact that gamers from '97 had the same attitude toward Legends; being “modern” gamers isn't really the issue. In fact, I'd have to imagine people would be more accepting of the game nowadays than they were back then, since Battle Network made the idea of alternative play-styles in MegaMan possible and likeable.

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up, but Keiji Inafune himself has already answered that. He said, if he was to make Mega Man Legends 3, some rich Americans would have to throw money at him; specifically, fifteen million dollars[/u]!  Also in the video to which I just linked, Inafune hints that Capcom is forcing him to make games that make money, as opposed to games that he would consider "fun". Capitalism can be so cruel to artists… Please, do not blame Inafune. He is very committed to making Mega Man Legends 3. Capcom just isn't letting him because the series hasn't been the biggest money-maker. |

I honestly think InCLOVEr and Deltatrigger have gone insane.
Deltatrigger has somehow forgotten of the GTA series among other games...
and inCLOVER seems to forget how Inafune isn't really interested in Legends.

MY point of view is that capcom WILL make another legends game, they just have to create enhough curiosity on all the megaman fans that does not know legends. That's why the stuff with all those servbot cameos and Legends apparition in many games, to me it sounds more like wanting for people to say "Who are they?" "OMG what cute little lego like guys, who are them?" "where did they come from?" "Oh wow, this legends game isn't so bad after all!". When they gathered enhough hunger for knowledge, they'll probably do something about it.

Legends is generally hated by Megaman fans. It has the reputation of being the epitome of what a Megaman game shouldn't be. Of course not everyone shares that point of view, but that really seems to be the general consensus. No one will get it. Older Megaman fans won't welcome it. Inafune gets raped. It's all very simple. |

I think we're misinterpreting the question here; it's not WILL Inafune make Legends 3, but does he want to? I do believe he wants to, but won't. Even if he has the resources, he won't. I think InClover's article summarizes the reason why pretty nicely. The game wouldn't sell, and, that's what they're making it for, right? Inafune could make the perfect Legends sequel he has always wanted to, and it could even get awesome ratings from all the gaming sites and magazines, but it wouldn't do well. FPS fanboys(meaning people who view FPS's as the only good gaming genre out there, maybe sans sports games) would dismiss it because it is either to kiddie, or, you know, not an FPS, and also probably because it's a Megaman game. Newer Megaman fans(mostly younger) might pick it up, but they might be turned off by the fact that they've never played the other two--I'm probably wrong on this, though. Depending on the age, they won't care. Older, Megaman "purists"(you know, the Classic/X fanboys/girls that ALL played and loved Network but hated Legends because it wasn't 'Megaman') would probably ignore it, seeing as they didn't like the originals. The only thing I can think of to raise interest, and, perhaps more consumers, is to release the PSP ports to America(not going to happen for the same reason as MML3 not out yet), and to release the new Capcom VS game in US(more likely to happen, but not as effective). Not that it matters, anyway.  |

You really think so? From what I've read of other Mega Man fansites, I get the opposite impression, that Legends is generally liked, and there are few people that hate it. Heck, even on another non-Mega Man forum I went to, the idea of a new Legends game didn't seen unwelcome at all.

I'm thinking it's the latter here- for them, it'd be just another Mega Man game like a few of the other (series) they may have played. Previous story would probably be explained in the game itself, if it was to be released.
Dosen't entirely fit here, but I just thought I'd throw the though here- fans like this can no longer put Legends under the "not a mega man game" banner anymore. After all, Battle Network, Star Force, and even the Zero/ZX series are different from the original and X series, yet are still considered 'Mega Man" games. Saying that would just be contradictory and unreasonable. (Part of the reason I'm say this is because I heard it used somewhere recently.)
Sometimes I get the feeling that lack of games isn't the only reason Legends has a small fanbase...
