Screenshots (click to see): Current version: Demo ------------------------- What: Gee guys, the morale in this subforum is quite low. Let's put a smile on those faces of yours eh? This is Pocket Legends, a little project that actually took off from the ground and it's in production, while i'm not a genius at GML like Blyka or a 3D modeller as fab, all difficult parts of the coding are already finished, so the rest is easier now. Heavily inspired and based by Megaman Digger's style (and lack of updates), Pocket Legends takes place BEFORE the events of MML1, it'll be about Megaman's first dig and the adventures that came after. Yes, the graphics are retro-like and Trigger and Roll are edits of Megaman 1 sprites, making a spritesheet for Trigger from scratch just seemed stupid if i was using a resolution that would fit with these. The rest of the graphics are 100% original though. There are a few minor bugs with the textures, sometimes cubes get drawn with a few sides missing textures, that and for some reason the music won't loop, these errors are of small importance and won't hinder the gaming experience (in other words, i just don't know why this happens). Sorry for the flutter's wheel room looking like crap, i got bored of trying to make it look good for the demo, but it'll look decent in the full game. Credits to Blyka for his SkullMan example and a few other tuts and tips i found on his website. How:The controls are inside the game and are similar to Megaman Digger, but if you want to know them already: Arrow keys - Move/Select Option Z - Jump X - Shoot A - Drink an energy canteen C - Talk/Examine Enter - Accept Option Press F4 - Change from fullscreen to windowed mode, if you're weird and you want to screw your sight. When:I'm not going to set a date of release since that will make a hobby an obligation, and it'll feel like a chore to do the game, instead of having fun while making it.

Screenshots look awesome, but the program doesn't work for me. (Windows XP SP3/Ubuntu 9.10)

This is a pleasant surprise right out of nowhere. Looks cool, but the download doesn't seem to work right for me. I click on the exe, the "Pocket Legends" title comes up for a second, the screen goes black, and then it's over. Closed out. What gives?

I think I know you from somewhere. Your style seems eerily familiar... xD
And yeah, same. Can't seem to get this to work on my laptop. I'll try it on another computer later. Screens look f'ing awesome, though. Really, really wanna try this one. :(

That was great. Nice to see a fangame actually ready to play around with.
Aside from the problems you already mentioned, I was irked at a couple of points where a Miitan would continue to chase and attack me while reading a sign. At one point near the end, I killed one Miitan and it dropped a 1-Up (Auto-Defibrillator, whatever) and the message box that popped up to tell me I'd picked it up froze me while the other Miitans swarmed in. Yeesh. Hope that's fixed.
The second room of the ruin was also choppier compared to the previous one.
Otherwise, a fun demo, a great concept. Hope to see more eventually.

Awesome. Love the style of the whole thing. Obviously there's a lot missing from the demo, but I hope to see some variation in the backgrounds once you start polishing it up. It's a bit repetitious as it is now. ic: You can put this on the arcade in DA if you want. Oh, that's abandoned. Actually I forgot about it. :/ Anyway, awesome demo. Hope to see more of it in the future.

Pocket Legends has become the first outside submission to Sky Pirate Arcade. I will be posting news for the game and updating the first post here on Mir@k's behalf.
