Hey guys! Just showing up to tell you that my computer is functional again, it appears the problem was caused by a small feather located inside the power supply (don't ask me how it got there, I have no idea). I haven't bought any new parts yet but I'll probably do so next month.
Anyway, all the files are intact so I was able to keep working on what I had so far.
It's still too soon to declare the project active again as I have no idea if the repairs I've made would be enough, so in the meantime I'll keep working on polishing some rough concepts and level design.

Here's a panoramic view of the tutorial ruin, it's really simple so I don't mind if you see the layout before playing XP On another subject, it looks like the hosting site I used for the game's site is down, Does anyone knows where can I host my site for free? I was thinking on something like Blogger but I wasn't quite convinced with it.

Oh my god. Two things: That bird is a troll. And YYYYYYEEEEEEESSS your files are safe. I know what it feels like to lose EVERYTHING you have worked on. For me, the project was a Red Dwarf- themed Visual Pinball table.
EDIT: And that ruin looks so good, it looks like you stole it out of MML. xD

I've been pondering the idea of including actual Buster guns into the game, since it's a Megaman game it just feels logic, the fact is I want to give the player the option to customize the Buster's appearance by changing the parts of it. I took inspiration from This site so I feel I have to give some credit to Arne for his Buster mechanics concept.
There could be 4 different parts to customize including the Buster's shell, it's Generator, the cannon and that ring part between the shell and the cannon I don't know how to call. The generator would dictate the base stats of the gun, while the "ring" would influence the ENG and RPD stats and the cannon would change the ATK and RNG of it. Each part would have it's own appearance according to how it affects the buster, for example: a longer cannon would enhance RNG, a wider one would enhance ATK but decrement RNG and so on. The result would be Busters looking like these:
These Buster guns will also differ from normal ones, as they would be built with advanced Elysian technology that will make them appear just when needed, same with special weapons. Each weapon would be called from their bracelets. Taking in consideration that the girls' appearances would be customized too, if you like the skin applied to your characters the buster and the special weapons will not obstruct the design unless you want it to.
All of this are just aesthetic changes so I don't think there would be any major problems while implementing them on the game on the future. Of course, it's just a concept I have in mind and will consider later if it's needed.
What do you guys think? Do you have any buster designs you would like to share so I can borrow some inspiration? (Or directly put in the game if you want to)

DID SOMEBODY MENTION CUSTOMIZABLE WEAPON DESIGN? *ahem* I would be more than happy to help out with the concept. Just tell me any guidelines that may apply here and I'll get to work whenever possible. If necessary, you can always quickly contact me via Skype.

Thanks! The only design guidelines that may apply are simple: Each part can be freely designed as you wish, just make sure they can be coherently interconnected, take in consideration for example the size of the ends of the buster, the "ring" and the nuzzle. The nuzzle can have multiple cannons but they might be just aesthetic. And that's it! I would love to see many different designs so don't hold back even if you're not good at drawing, you can also name your designs of you like too. I also accept suggestions about designs or the concept as always.

Hey guys! I've came with a new concept sketch for a new life bar, the current one is fine but I want something different, check it out. The bar on the top-right corner is the one I'm using right now, the left one is based on MML3's life bar, used as reference, the last one is completely different because i'm not sure what kind of style looks better, all I know is that I want 3 different bars: HP, EP (or Energy Points, used as an ammo indicator) and the third one is located around the character's portrait, the system symbol rotates as the bar fills up. This third bar would be used as the "chain" indicator I used on Irregular Hunter mode, it basically fills up with every successful attack. So, does any of you have an idea for a good life bar? I don't know how to describe what I need but I can answer your questions, I'm also open to any design you might come up with!

The third looks pretty good for a change of pace. The only suggestions I would make to it would be to move the HP & EP bars a little higher and to cut the corners off the portrait. Perhaps also change the style to match those of the other two designs.

The one on the bottom is definitely easier to read than the prototype. There wasn't enough contrast between the color of the gauge itself and the light gray for it to work without outlines.

I've added some details to the latest hp bar such as a radar and rearranged the bars as suggested, the "combo" indicator circle was split into three sections. I'll add the finishing touches after I get your approval for this one.

Assuming this is the one you'll be applying in-game (do correct me if I'm wrong though), I would personally prefer a thicker non-serif font to make out the values more easily.

I feel like a jerk for only half-watching and not commenting. Sorry bout that. If you're still looking for a hosting service, I can give some passive recommendation to Google Sites.. It should remain free for private use and as long as you stay below a 100mb data budget, which should be easy if you use links to external hosting for downloads. My intricate secret santa comes to mind, and used like... no data because I had images linked from Imgur to it. As for the health-bar, my only concern is that the system symbol's spikes block a fair portion of the combo meters. I think it may be better if the symbol was toned down in overall size so that the bars can be thicker and more of the bars would be visible as a result.

Uh. I remember back when I suggested the "combo chain" system that I also pointed out a circled gauge as if to mimic a clock. Hm.
Oh yeah, maybe you can do something among the lines of Mighty no.9 in which the score obtained decreases as time passes between "de-stabilizing" and "absorbing". SO that would give another meaning to splitting the gauge in three sections. Unless that was what you were going for by doing that?

I'll check out Google sites and what can I do with it, thanks. The symbol on the health bar will rotate as the gauge fills up so the bottom spike of the symbol acts as a needle for a meter, so it kinda doesn't obstruct the view, I can shrink it a little though... Uh. I remember back when I suggested the "combo chain" system that I also pointed out a circled gauge as if to mimic a clock. Hm. SO that would give another meaning to splitting the gauge in three sections. Unless that was what you were going for by doing that? Where d'you think I got the idea from? I felt like the provisional chain meter I used for Irregular Hunter mode was kind of out of place, I didn't make a circle meter back then because making a bar is faster and I didn't knew exactly how to make it to be honest. I redesigned the bar making the circle meter the center of attention, it works this way: The bars fills up with every successful hit, Buster attacks increase it by a small amount while melee attacks and special weapons increase the meter a bit more. The gauge depletes itself over time, it's not restarted by getting hit by an enemy but it depletes by a small chunk. Filling up each section will grant special bonuses, as an example, after filling up the first section the items dropped by defeating an enemy will increase, by filling up the whole bar each girl will receive a special temporal bonus, like infinite EP (or ammo) or invincibility. So yeah, it's by the suggestions of all of you that I'm building this up so thank you again!

Okay, if the bar isn't giving information for three different things then it's probably alright the way it is. I misunderstood it and thought all three of the colors were separate bars.
