View the thread to see there's a poll. :/Been fiddling with Toon Boom, love it, and I want to start using it regularly. It would be done in this style. If everything goes according to plan I'll probably do something of a casting call later, after which a short screenplay collaboration between voice-overs and a radio play that I'll set to animation. No promises. I'm avoiding the notion of using main characters for a number of reasons: They're set in stone, and using NPCs and supporting cast offers more freedom while maintaining an air of familiarity. Rock, Tron and the bunch often get into action filled romps, and the idea of relying on physical comedy and slapstick seems inevitable. That's not what I wanna do at all. But voice your opinions. If not I'll probably just do something else entirely.

I would absolutely love this. Great idea focusing on NPCs. The Shala-Kun diggers have more than enough personality to carry a series of shorts, and I really feel they deserve more love, so I voted for them. The only problem I can see is that, due to MOTB's obscurity compared to MML/64, you might have a significantly smaller audience. Just something to consider if that's important to you. Should be great either way, though! Best of luck to you.

I could imagine great stuff coming out of the CattleOx NPCs but if you do everything original you're able to send your work in to competitions and festivals.

I'd like to see it. I'd even be willing to help in some way if everything goes to plan.

Alright. I started jotting down some ideas, and I came out with an entire premise. I have to admit, this looks promising. Grade A material if I may boast. I won't say anything other than that it's a Paprika centric plot with Jim's gang. And that it's delicious. ;9 The only problem I can see is that, due to MOTB's obscurity compared to MML/64, you might have a significantly smaller audience. Just something to consider if that's important to you. Which is why I'm gonna go with using a different cast every time. If I do the Shala-kun diggers next, it won't be a ruin excavating thing, it'll most likely take place in Gold City and be Legends enough despite not featuring any recognizable characters. I'm aiming to please Legends fans and non fans alike. Pretty much just using an established universe and characters to make original stories. I could imagine great stuff coming out of the CattleOx NPCs but if you do everything original you're able to send your work in to competitions and festivals. That's another thing, and you're totally right. The thing about that is I have neither the time, patience or manpower to come up with an entirely original setting and characters. Animation is not a lazy man's project, it's pretty demanding and any single person working with a small group is practically forced to take certain shortcuts, whether that be with the animation or story. I'm familiar enough with Legends, and I'd rather focus my attention on making it good rather than completely original. This is more or less greasing the wheels for me. Once the gears are in motion I'll start doing something that's all mine. I'd like to see it. I'd even be willing to help in some way if everything goes to plan. Sweet, I could definitely use the help.
