Well, this originally started off as a water ruin theme for JMC's project he has goin'. If you don't know about it, then I can't say anything more. *Seals lips* Mm-m, mm mm m mmmmmmmm... *Unseals lips* Ok, that doesn't work. Anyways, the above is just for lol's...and awesomeness. This is the actual track for the ruin...or atleast what I have so far for it. Thoughts? Comments? Post'em.

*is blown away*
I'm pretty impressed, especially given the fact that I'm inclined towards water/ice based themes. The extra part in the first one could be used as a battle theme in the same ruin (the same way a good chunk of MML2's music operates). I like the feel the song gives, it has that dark and mysterious vibe to it. The quality's pretty good too; it sounds like something I'd hear in a movie!

Thanks Buster, the whole battle music bit was actually JMC's reaction as well...I think. Though he doesn't want it to sound electronic. I kinda like the electronic sound to it, because it's vastly different from the actual ruin theme...and it's awesome. xD And that's funny...I was originally writing something that was meant to be dark and mysterious...and even creepy. But then I made this. I feel like it's more serene and calming than mysterious...but it definitely has it's dark tone to it. Glad you liked it though.

Whoa... Glad to see you guys are still doing this thing. I'd heard bits of this before ( I'm pretty sure I did, at least), but it wasn't anything like this. Second version's my fav. I like the huge burst of noise partway through the first, but it sort of kills the atmosphere and it doesn't seem like there was anything building up to it. Just a sudden torrent of sound... But I guess that's appropriate given the theme. btw, I know this is one of the most annoying questions a person can ask, but what software do you use? I can't seem to find anything that isn't completely ghetto.

Unless JMC let you hear it, then you probably haven't heard this. I just wrote this up a few days ago, so it's still pretty fresh. Or you could be referring to the old water ruin theme I had...which I still like. Just wasn't what JMC was looking for. ^^;
And yeah, it's a burst of sound. Sort of meant to throw you off. You have this calming, almost ambient music...and then BAM. Awesome-sauce all over your face... xDDDD And there is a build up for it...it's in the strings. If you take notice, the strings get louder just before it happens. It's not much of a build-up, but it's there.
And currently, I'm using FL Studio 7...not by legal means, either. I don't have the money to spend on amazing software or anything, but FL gets the job done. In fact, it's been my sequencer of choice since the beginning. Everything I have posted on this site, music-wise, was made with some version of FL. I actually have FL9 downloaded, but have yet to install it and try it out. ^^;

B-R-E-T's words are like my own, the first one was very enchanting and all until BAM that sudden burst of sound came, it killed the magical/mysterious aspect of the ruin. xD But the second one, oooh the second one.. It is BEAUTIFUL. I hope you do finish that one.
FL Studio is also my favorite sequencer, i have 8 now, but i used to work with FL Studio 4.5 and it still got that power in it.

lol Yeeeees, that's the one I was using for the loooongest time. Well, 4.5.2...but same difference, really.
FL9's pretty sweet from what I've been able to check out. But either way, I'll be finishing this eventually. Probably fix up the last section a bit and add one or two more. I mean, it's meant to loop 'n all that, but gotta keep it interesting so the loop-ness of it doesn't bore people to death.

All I can say is wow, it was like my ears went through soundwave heaven I like them both a lot, Ice/water stages/music are in my favorite category as well. (My most favorite being Ice cap zone from sonic 3 but that's off topic...) Also the beginning notes of your song harmonized really well.

You dare to publicly mention the project which everyone seems to know about while pretending not to??!?!?!! XD
Talking about the non-sound-explosive version, I really like the feel for sure and I think it's much closer to suiting the atmosphere of what it goes with than your old one. I love the old one BTW, I listen to it regularly, usually on loop for extended periods. I hope JMC finds a suitable place for it somewhere.

This is amazing Dash. Stop being amazing. Love both versions, but the one with the sound-explosion is clearly the better to listen to.
