The last two games I beat were Megaman 9 and Kirby's Dreamland 3. Both games are fun, although Megaman 9's difficulty feels pretty fake, and once you get the hang of it it's quite easy. Maybe I'll try those extra difficulty modes in the near future.

After much hesitation, I finally manned up and decided to take on Kefka's Tower. The first time I went my party was very imbalanced, which meant trouble since the level layout practically forced you to use all of the characters. My strongest were Celes, Locke and Terra, respectively. I had them take the lead with the other characters acting as their support.
Let me say this, Kefka's Tower was one of the most thrilling gaming experiences I'v had in the FF series. The bosses were definitely no pushovers (Well, the ending ones anyway) The god statues that challenge you before you face Kefka would either give you a good battle, or they would annoy you to death. It really depended on how quick you were to act.
Kefka was something else. The only FF boss I could match to him would probably be Ultimecia, because the battle was divided in tiers. It was divided in TIERS! My only gripe is that when you actually reach Kefka, he goes down easy...either that or it was simply luck on my part that I took him down before he could get serious
Anyway, Final Fantasy VI was a worthy game, indeed. In fact, I would like to play it again from the very beginning. The characters are vibrant and likable and the villains are just as memorable. I would say without hesitation that I had more fun with this one than I had with FFVII and FFVIII. The only one that comes close to matching the fun rating would be FF IX.

Though I've been playing a lot of games the only ones I've actually beaten the story/campaign for recently have been the Half Life 2 collection and Portal in The Orange Box, I've been getting more and more into online gaming since most of the new titles (in the genres I like) are either online-based and/or don't have good single player. Of course I occasionally go back to an old title and there are plenty older ones I have yet to play.

Cave Story, PC (Second Best Ending)
What an amazing game. Can't say enough good things about it. My only complaints are that the optional final level and boss is freaking INSANE. You have to go through hell, literally, and then fight a boss with four forms, all without a single savepoint. That's just ridiculous.
But you know what? I could have done it if I'd only not screwed myself out of getting the best basic weapon in the game. Instead, I made the mistake of picking up a machine gun which is okay for the rest of the game, but pretty much useless for the secret final boss.
Needless to say, the game was so good that I've already restarted from the beginning just so I could properly equip myself for the final battle this time. Bring it on!

Once you get used to Cave Story's final stage, you'll be able to do it like it's nothing. You can save your Life Pot too; that should help. In other news, I beat Metroid Prime 2 yesterday. I had to use a guide a few times. The game seems impossible at times, but you just have to know which weapon to use against which boss. (some people confuse this for "skill") And never underestimate the power of Super Missiles; it can be tricky, but they're ridiculously effective, pretty much all the time. Also the logbook. I spent hours looking for stuff randomly when I could've checked the logbook and gotten it in (maybe) less than an hour. The ending was right on the border of very cool and incredibly lame. But as I understand it I there's more to the 100% ending, so I'll have to try that. At the moment I've gone back to the first Metroid Prime, though, which is in my opinion 1,000,000× better over all.

Beat Cave Story and got the best ending.
Still pumped up from that final battle. Yeah, it would have been impossible to do that without the Spur.

Beat Cave Story and got the best ending. Still pumped up from that final battle. Yeah, it would have been impossible to do that without the Spur. My somewhat Cave Story obsessed brother managed to get the best ending with the machine gun, so it's definitely not impossible. Just hard. I beat Mega Man X4 yesterday. My friend's copy of X4 on the PS1 was my first real exposure to Mega Man (never had an NES or SNES), so I kind of feel like my years of Mega Man fandom have all been leading up to this. Now I just need to beat it as X. ;D

Oh ya, Also beat Mother 3 again for the 3rd time. All time favorite game there. Have started it over yet again!
ummm.....can't think of any others. Gonna continue to try to beat Code Name Viper (for the NES)

I beat Jump Superstars, but not 100%. Found it lying on a shelf at a used game store. Really fun and goofy, and I quite like the soundtrack! I still can't believe how epic they made Arale and Dr. Mashirito look in those cutscenes...

I find these kinds of threads very amusing. Does anyone who posts here actually care to read what others said? I think everyone just wants a chance to make an easy post about themselves.
The psychology behind it is notable. (Dang, I really have no better word to use than notable however I don't like the sound of it)

Yeah, pretty much. ... But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in what other people have been playing, too!

I'll watch those videos this weekend if I don't have time during the week, strong language makes let's plays more fun to watch almost 90% of the time. On that line of thought I also like the name you chose.
On the subject of Cave Story: I got the good ending a while ago but by the time I got there I had played for too long to want to really work toward the best ending. I've played it on and off since then but so far I've only gotten to the last fight a couple times and I got owned after the first phase. However I do like the game a lot for having a story deeper than "these are the bad guys, these are the good guys" without going with the usual gaming cliches and for having a true difficulty arc with story rewards you truly have to earn (whereas many today have a curve that goes from beatable by a blind man to beatable by a 6 year old).
For me I just recently beat the campaign in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PS3 a couple days ago (I got it on Saturday). It's biggest strength is the online multiplayer (which I'm addicted to) but I enjoyed the gameplay of the campaign and it gets fairly challenging even on normal mode.
On the other hand I hated the story, they took good characters, a couple from the original MW, and threw them into an action movie pretty much designed to be totally unoriginal and predictable. But I still liked the gameplay so I may replay it on a harder difficulty at some point. Also the spec ops challenges are pretty fun, especially since you can play them co-op both online and split-screen.
PS. Modern Warfare 2 is the sole reason I've been absent since I finished midterms last week.

I just finished up the main storyline for Wolfenstien 3D. While this shooter is archaic compared to today's standards, it was a lot of fun. Maybe it's because I like history, but on the last floor, I knew waiting at the far end of the room was the closest thing our world will ever see to the living embodiment of evil. I knew it was ridiculous, but still, the idea of facing down Hitler, despite being a digitized fiend was a bit heavy. Even so, I crushed his mech and smote his ruin upon the bunker floor... Yeah, a bit overkill, but hey, this game's a classic . Don't know if I'll start the Nocturnal Missions for a while.. I also finished Final Fantasy CC: The Crystal Bearers. It was one of the more unusual spin-offs I've seen, but it had a lot of good qualities- the places you went to can be pretty big, the monsters were fun to fight and mess around with since you fight them with telekenetic powers. There are a few other things that can distract you from the story lines. Like sneaking through a train and whatnot.

Finished Aqua's story in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep in one day. The game is pretty damn good. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is a joke compared to this. Will talk more about it later, since I have to head to class now.
