Finally got around to beating Phoenix Wright: Justice For All, and wow, that last case was something else... Damn it, I still need to finish that case! I've left it sitting for months now. And I was so happy when *spoiler* I was finally able to play as Edgeworth */spoiler* I beat the original Metroid a few days ago. Hate that game so much, but I was sick of there being a 2D Metroid that I hadn't completed. Now I'll never need to touch that game again. ... *sigh*, one more day until I can play Megaman 10. Stupid Capcom release schedule.

Anyway I'm about to go on spring break and my English teacher gave us a project to do just a few minutes ago. We have to view and then write on something that fits Classical Gothic themes. It can be a piece of writing, a story, a movie, a show or a video game. Gothic themes? I honestly don't know what would qualify as gothic...to me, some of the Castlevania games have a Gothic sort of art style (but then...is that really a theme? xD), and I think I read that Eternal Poison has some Gothic themes in it, although that one is for PS2, plus I've never played it so I wouldn't know.
Anyway, I recently finished Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. I can't get enough of this game. I'm replaying it, since it just took the title of my favourite DS game ever. I loved Miles in the other AA games, so getting to play as him in this one made the experience a million times better. Any AA fan should pick this up after they're done with the other games.

I've been looking forward to it since I first heard about it. I haven't beaten any games lately, but I finally got myself through the Water Temple on Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That accomplishment felt just as big. I beat the original Metroid a few days ago. Hate that game so much, but I was sick of there being a 2D Metroid that I hadn't completed. Now I'll never need to touch that game again. I'm impressed. I can't stand to play that game long enough to get anywhere.

I decided to do Heavy Rain, don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. After I played it I found that it was perfect. And yeah simply having a Gothic style of artwork wouldn't really qualify since it really only relates to the setting and not the actual feel of the game.
Nice, I got Ocarina of Time when I was about 6 and it took me about nine years to beat it. I must have gotten stuck on every other dungeon, either in the dungeon itself or in reaching it.
I remember I got stuck multiple times on the forest dungeon due to confusion about my objective, loss of direction and a paralyzing fear of wall masters (they still creep me out but I'm not 9 anymore)

I just got through Final Fantasy XIII and I've gotta say that the last boss almost felt like FFX all over again, not for the fact that you're invincible (Because you're not), but because the two bosses preceding it were far more challenging. I suppose you could say that it was just placed there for the sake of plot since it was the third part of a sequential boss fight.
Anyway I recommend the game to anyone willing to try something new. I remember starting a thread long ago that ranted about the direction of FF since Square merged with Enix, but sometimes you just have to give these things a chance.
The new battle system is unique and well tuned for strategic players and the concept of the game in general really breaks out of convention in terms of the previous games in the series. I liked it (even including the hair pulling boss fights toward the end) and from what I see the game is barely finished. The post game content is ridiculous and the enemies are still challenging regardless of how stacked your characters are.
I suppose at this point this is becoming more like a review so I'm gonna end it there. I'm looking forward to Versus and hopefully "Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday" will be released in the US.

Agreed about Final Fantasy XIII. Even though it's obviously not the best game in the series, I still loved it. Favorite characters include Sazh, Lightning, Fang, and Hope. Roughly in that order. And who knew Hope would actually be likable.
But you gotta keep an open mind about this game, because like an FPS, the only thing you can do is literally run around and fight battles. But that's not so much of a bad thing since, well, that's what you do in most J-RPGs anyway. And the graphics and presentation were good enough to awe me. Story was pretty good to, at least to me. Top that with a very cinematic soundtrack.
Also, props to Final Fantasy XIII for being able to put in amazing graphics yet still have a short load time without any installation whatsoever.
Battles may seem easy in the first third of the game, but then the true battle system reveals itself, then becoming of the most tactical Final Fantasy games I've ever played.
Anyway, back on topic, finished The Saboteur a few days ago. A decent WWII Paris sandbox game.

Actually, it's been many a month since I've sat and played a game for serious, but recently I picked up Shadow of the Colossus again and plowed through it for the umpteenth time on NewGame+ ™. Like, within a day. That game is too short. T_T I haven't played FFXIII personally, so I can't speak for the game myself, but my bro was telling me the game is practically on-rails. Not surprised, really, after XII they figured people wanted the complete opposite of complexity and freedom. Kinda like what they did with 9 after 8? I can understand that. But... yeah. Not to my tastes.

Last game i completed was Crash Twinsanity, which i still think is the best crash bandicoot since crash 3, bar the kinda glithcyness of it here and there the game is really fun, Cortex is brilliant, most of the classic bosses make an appearance, and the humor is brilliant, one bit cortex argues with his henchmen
"The check bounced? well, things have been kind of slow, wrath of cortex didn't do as well as wed hoped...."
the final boss was cool and all, but the lack of crash annoyed me a bit, you play as cortex's niece, cortex, then a giant robot : \
the thing i liked most was that they moved on from the warp room setup, into a kinda chapter based adventure type thing... plus you get to use cortex as a snowboard, and the whole soundtrack is an acapella band
then they sold crash to another company who ruined it beyond repair... Ah well

I went with a complete throwback and finally finished Tenchi Muyo! Snes. I didn't think that an rpg game based on a anime series, made in the early nineties, could actually prove to be a little challenging. (Last boss was cheap.)
That and they steal away Ryoko for half of the game. The hell man? It feels like Command Mission all over again!

Finished Megaman IV GB a while ago... damm that final boss was kinda hard, with 3 forms... first the weakpoint was a lot high and I had to jump on some fists that if you go too soon it hurts you. Then the second form charges at Megaman and the only possible wasy I saw to avoid it was to shoot at its neck, but maybe it needs some rhytm to it, then The sauce that disapeas and... okay that one isn't that hard since I have Ballade Cracker...

Finally cleared all of story mode for Blazblue: Continuum Shift on 'Very Hard' mode, which was far more enjoyable than the story mode from Calamity Trigger for some reason. I suppose it must have been due to all of the gag reels and character development.
Geez, facing Mu on 'HELL' mode is just asking to get thrown around like a rag doll, the same goes for Hazama and that dang high kick he executes whenever you're about to pull off a special attack. ARGH! And Tager....god...just Tager....
GENESIC EMERALD TAGER!
...You just died...

The last games I've beaten would be Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. For DW6, it was slow going given that you start off getting your butt handed to you while you try and grind levels. But When you get to the point of conquering regions and crushing your enemies, everything falls into place. It's good to be the emperor... As for MI2, it was almost a touch and go affair, some of the puzzles have you scratching your head as you try to make sense of them. Then for the last one, LeChuck won't leave you alone:03:- outsmarting him was trial and error (not to mention disgusting in one or two bits:01: ). Still it worth all the trouble, and the ending was pretty wierd- it left you thinking whats' going on after the credits?

Pokemon Soul Silver: It's basically G/S/C with updated graphics and extra features, but I really enjoyed it regardless. Then again, G/S/C is my personal favourite of the series. While I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have Kris at first, Lyra really grew on me. The Pokeathleon was also a neat feature and lots of fun to play. Like the original games, I really loved the fact we were able to visit Kanto and battle the Gym Leaders. I also enjoyed the partner pokemon feature.
Mega Man Zero Collection: Although I have the original GBA games, I've decided to buy this game as well because of the extra features. It's quite enjoyable to play, but I must admit that "Easy Scenario" mode was way too easy, then again maybe it's easy for me because I had beaten the GBA games.

Hah. Those are the exact last two games I bought. I've still got to get around to finishing MegaMan Zero Collection. If my gameboy weren't broken right now I'd get back into that.
Pokémon Soul Silver was awesome while it lasted though. Pokémon G/S/C is one of my top five games of all time, personally. <3 Although, the hype about that has pretty much died down around here, and I haven't been able to get a good battle going in a long while. For a while I was keeping up with the daily in-game events but now I've let that lapse. I'm messing with my Pokéwalker more these days trying to get enough watts to unlock more levels to catch more Pokémon. (457⁄493!) But that's slow going. >.< Still I've gotten 800+ hours out of it, so it was money well spent. (I plan to get just as much from Legends 3 when that comes out!)
