This is a project i made for a Halloween contest in my school, i made it in 1 week, 2 hours per day. The incredible thing is... I Did´nt win!!!!! The judges don´t know of art. I give you the link to the pic. So you can tell me your opinion. i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Rockman_Striker/sora.jpg

I can't tell you why you didn't win, but if the judges are anything like me I'd say they're probably tired of all this overrated weeaboo stuff. Most people get tired of seeing more and more of the same. And I hate to be critical, but you're not exactly bringing anything new to the table. In fact, that's pretty much not even your work.

Maybe you´re right, i made my design after a game character, but i´m sure the teachers (who are the judges) aren´t gamers, i thing they don´t know who sora is, and the contest was to test our abilities, to see what can we make in corel draw, not for creating and original character. But i respect and thank your comment. I want comments about my work, not why i don´t win, please.

That was basically my critique. I'd be more impressed by an image that wasn't arguably copied from someone else's work. Not the character, but the posture and composition. It's pretty uncanny.
I may be just a little biased, but I think if you did a drawing of Sora that was a bit more dynamic and worked on your composition a little it would show a bit more imagination.
You want people to really be drawn into your work. There's nothing in this image that really prompts the viewer into moving their eyes across the scene it's depicting. There's no movement, depth or life in this drawing. It's some guy standing there.
