[glow=red,2,300]WARNING: this post has lots of whining,
and contains pretty much everything that could ever go wrong with Nintendo's systems/ customer service [/glow]
So I got a DSlite for Christmas back in 2006,
and after a few months the L button started having these weird fits
where if I pushed it, it would spaz out like I had one of those "turbo" buttons turned on,
(NOOOOO! I didn't want to use ALL of my red shells yet! )
or it just wouldn't work.
And for whatever reason, Nintendo wouldn't repair it even though it was still under warranty.
So I just kinda ignored it since I couldn't fix it without spending $80 or more,
and I didn't really play MarioKart that much anyway.
so then, back in February (this year) I got a Wii.
it was pretty cool, and I got Smash Bros. Brawl at Gamestop's midnight release party thing.
then, just two weeks after I got Brawl, my Wii got bricked.
I think it might have been because of the "double layer disc" thing getting the lens dirty or whatever that was,
but Nintendo didn't tell me what was wrong when I got it repaired.
(but it was still under warranty, so it was free)
so every day I was checking the tracking number thing to see where my Wii was and when I would get it.
after two weeks it was finally on the UPS truck going to my house, and it got delivered to the wrong house.
those people sent it back to Nintendo via snailmail and Nintendo sent it back via
so-much-slower-it-might-be-a-dead-snail-mail.
I finally got it back, and even though the Nintendo rep I talked to said I would be able to keep all my saved data, everything was erased.
so since then my DS has been practically falling apart even though all it does is sit on a shelf,
and a few weeks ago I picked it up to play The World Ends With You,
and when I opened it the hinge cracked and the top screen wouldn't stay up and flickered on and off if I didn't hold it the right way.
so I decided that "since I've preordered/bought almost every game I'll want until next summer,
I'll tell my mom that for Christmas I just want my DS repaired".
so after waiting the 2-3 business weeks to get it back, the UPS guy comes to the door and says:
"um, I was supposed to deliver a package to you, but I can't find it on the truck.
It's just not where it's supposed to be.
But if I find it, I'll come back later today and drop it off"
so an hour and a half ago, he came back,
and when I opened it, the casing which I took care of and it hardly got any scratches,
is all scratched up and looks kinda like it was thrown up on, taken apart, and then they had a 6 year old glue it back together.
I put MarioKart in, turned it on, and started playing.
the L button works fine now, the hinge was fixed, the top screen doesn't turn black in the middle of gameplay,
but then I tried to play Kingdom Hearts: CoM.
this is kinda hard to explain, but I'm gonna explain this the best way I can:
you guys know how when you push down a button on a control pad,
it has that feel to it like buttons on most controllers where you can
feel the spring or piece of rubber pushing the button back up when you let go?
my control pad doesn't do that, and unless I push REALLY HARD, up and down don't work.
so I called Nintendo back, and I have to send it back to have it fixed AGAIN.
all of that to say, I pretty much effing hate Nintendo and UPS now.
and I'm sorry you had to read all of that just now.
EDIT: also, after talking to another Nintendo rep,
he started reading all of the repair and part orders I've sent,
and just now I find out that I never got my new battery cover for my old GBA.
and contains pretty much everything that could ever go wrong with Nintendo's systems/ customer service [/glow]
