Every since Mother 3 was announced in the ending of the Mother 1 + 2 port in Japan, people have been waiting anxiously for it's release. It was released in 2006, but there was no plans for localization. However, a team of hackers and translators took it upon themselves to translate it themselves, and after two long years of waiting, the highly anticipated patch was released yesterday! mother3.fobby.net/I'm psyched of course, though I still need to finish Earthbound and Earthbound Zero first.

I've been waiting for this for a loooooonnnnnng time. the EarthBound series I got the homebrew channel on my Wii with a GBA emulator, so I tried it, and it was a glitchy mess. so I'm playing it on my computer now. Tomato, Jeffman, Reid, and the rest of the guys over there are officially the greastest people on earth. (next to Itoi and Inafune) I still need to finish Earthbound and Earthbound Zero first. Really?

Woah, so this patch was THAT awaited for everyone. (Been reading the same note in the 894598265 forums i visit over the past week.) I personally only played earthbound for a little while, never getting too into the game, since i honestly hate leveling up for beating X enemies.

I'm almost done in Earthbound, and I'm about mid-way through EB: Zero. >_>;

I really ought to play those games myself.. I started Earthbound once, but couldn't get much into it for pretty much the same reason as Mir@k there.. Nice about that translated patch; shame there's no official localization.

I've been following this since they were about halfway through finished with it. I'm so glad it actually got released, especially considering most projects like this are usually given up on eventually. I'm going to try playing this on my GBA; I bet it'll be awesome.

Earthbound doesn't have TOO much heavy grinding...at least compared to EB Zero. If you fight everything in your path you shouldn't have too much trouble fighting newer enemies. It also helps that Ness has healing PSI, so if you're low on health you always have that, and if you're low on PP there are a LOT of butterfly spawn points where you can walk away and come back to refresh your PP. EDIT: Beat Earthbound Zero. Awesome game. Still not that far in Earthbound, but I'm going to play it all weekend. On Chapter 5 in Mother 3. Anyone else playing it?

Still waiting to get a flash cart; in my mind, that's the best way to play this game.

Ah, it is, trust me. Not only for the feel of it--Mother 3 is so big that it even lags in places when running it on visualboy!(which has never happened to me).
Also, Jorsh, I'm waiting until I beat Earthbound to get to the end, which is why I'm going pretty slow(was also playing EB0, so...).

Hey, if you get a regular gba flashcart it has to be 256 mbit. And even then, you have to trim some 0s manually (auto trimmers won't do it). It just barely fits on the 256 this way.

Yeah, M3 is pretty big in filesize(for a GBA game).
Anyway, beat it. The ending was really sad...
Now I just need to finish up Earthbound.

Hey, did anyone else beat it yet? Yeah, and what was the deal with those magypsies? They were all homosexual cross dressers, right? With the lipstick and shaver mementos. I didn't really like them, or understand why they were granted special powers. Haha, those 'air supply' people were making me pretty uncomfortable as well...
I wonder if they would have censored out the magypsies in the US, or if that had anything to do with leaving out a US release. Streets of Rage 3 had a gay cross dresser in the Japanese version and he was taken out in the US. Maybe this is the same deal.

Well, Nintendo is a lot more lenient now. Also, the Magypsies were neither human nor male. They were genderless.
