I probably should have asked this a long time ago...I'm kind of curious as to whether or not I'm the only one here who's into Broadway and all that jazz.

Ugh, no wonder you're indifferent. Cats is rubbish no matter how old you are. Go watch Sweeney Todd. It's way better...I'd recommend Mamma Mia (the stage version) and Wicked as well.
They're also working on a Spider-Man musical, among other things.

I’ve only seen a handful of serious musicals myself... I have no problem with them, but as with movies and the like, I tend not to go out of my way for them if I can help it. Broadway-style musicals are particularly troublesome to get into around these parts. The only major performance I’ve seen in my life was probably The Lion King. Definitely a good show, though. Movie musicals are a tad more accessible for me. Just about all of Disney’s stuff had been good, and Sweeny Todd was definitely a fun one (Manpies, gothic barbers, and A Little Priest FTW. A friend of mine also wanted to compose a hard metal rendition Green Finch and Linnet Bird, which I approve of wholly). Chicago also remains one of my favorite movies of all time... I loved how they interchanged the fantastical vaudeville segments with reality, and the songs themselves were excellent. I especially loved the more surreal numbers... Anyone who hasn’t seen the film must at least watch We Both Reached for the Gun at some point in his or her life. Never saw The Scarlet Pimpernel performed, but the music is fantastic, at least. I wouldn’t mind seeing an anime musical one of these days (which, to the best of my knowledge, exists), if not just for the novelty of it.

Like Mlt Syndrome said, I've only seen The Lion King Broadway musical (Which was amazing by the way.), as it's hard to see musicals around here. But I did see my high school's performance of West Side Story, which was also great.
I've watched the Rock Musical Bleach series on YouTube, which is pretty much a rock musical adaptation of the anime. I'm also watching bits and pieces of Musical Prince of Tennis too. Both are good, although I prefer the former. Musical Prince of Tennis feels more targeted towards girls. Unfortunate, since the author of the manga originally targeted it towards guys.

I've seen a small share of musical theatre in my high school days: In my senior year, I remember seeing Big River and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Those were good times. And even though I've had the soundtrack a good year already, I'd love to see the Monty Python musical, Spamalot.
