I got one cuz I was just dyin to test some of the CSS stuff I learned a while back, then got completely addicted... sorta. I don't know why I feel embarassed about having one, but I do. So I'm just gunna shut up. Does anyone else have one?

No, I don't, but could you PLEASE explain exactly what MySpace is? It seems like a lot of my friends have one, but I've never seen them, and I don't really have a firm grasp on the concept. MYSPACE IS A MYSTERY TO ME!
(OMG, I'VE BEEN N00BIFIED!)

Well, MySpace is essentially a profile type thing with a built in blog. You can customize your layout to some extent; you can change like the colors of stuff if you know CSS. Yeah, and you like fill out your interests and stuff, and like write in your blog, and if you know people who have it, you can add them as Friends and the can comment on your stuff and you can comment on their stuff and stuff. And then there's like Groups and stuff, which are basically places where MySpace users go to talk about certain stuff - and there's not ONE MegaMan Legends group. well now there is of course...I dunno, actually going to the site could tell ya a lot more than I can. It's basically Buddy Profile + Xanga or Blogger - not literally of course, and not LiveJournal because LiveJournal SUCKS. I dunno if you still don't get it, you can look at mine, I guess. Just a heads up, I know it's really lame, but there's music on my page. You can shut it off right away though; just scroll down a little and you can see the little player thingy. Or Mute the SW Synth part of the Volume control on your computer - I believe that should do the trick for any embedded midis on any website. Also, I somehow doubt that my page is Dial-up friendly... =/ I went a little overboard posting images and crap. Oh yeah, and if my layout looks really crappy, then you're using Internet Explorer. EDIT: I now have a more IE friendly layout, but still, the following two statements are still true. Internet Explorer = Crappy, so My Layout = CrappyFireFox/Mozilla = Good so My Layout = GoodI hope so anyway. Well I'm ramblin, so yeah whatever. I meant to post the link in my first post - not sure how I forgot that - but here it is: www.myspace.com/pitchumsedit: oh yeah, and I don't think there's any swearing in it unless one of the little survey thingies has it. edit: Now Less Obnoxious!

Yeah, I made this thread at like.. the start of the summer of '05. Right around the time I got my page. Way to revive a topic I'd thought would remain dead forever. I'm not posting my new link, but a few things to mention. Rage, StarGeneral your pages are absolutely terrible. NO page should load that slowly on a high speed connection. I can't imagine what Dial Up user might have to go through there... and yes, there are still dial up-ers out there. Gotta be considerate, guys. and it makes it look ugly as sin too. I know there's all this stuff out there that you can post on there, but it doesn't mean you should. Rage, MySpace is bascially just what I like to call "Idiots with Webspace". However, useless as it can be, it's also a really good way to stay in touch with people. After grammar school, I didn't see many of my old class mates. I finally broke down and got MySpace, and there they were. A friend of mine just moved away. We still talk on MySpace all the time. And it's a great way to keep up with things too. Something bad or good happens to a friend of mine, I hear about it when I check my page. It's very useful for social things. And it was a nice way to learn CSS. www.yourhtmlsource.com - read, learn, experiment. That was why I got my page, to begin with.. xD

Unfortuanlly, I have no control over what is on my myspace. I have not the slightest clue on what to do with it. I was going to let it rot but my friend got bored and did everything. I still let it rot anyway.
I guess I can use my myspace like you did but I'm lazy.

You have all the control you need as long as you can log in.
HTML and CSS code is all nothing but text. Yours would be simple enough to fix. just delete everything under General after "video game, playing Video game, creation spirting, and drawing." I'd suggest replacing the background image with something smaller, too, but really, getting rid of all that crap under General should help a lot.

My SpaceI really want to change my font. I hate the size change when you go over it. My friend has it even worse(Juan-Kun). He edited it and I'm too lazy to change it. It's all I can do to keep writing blogs. But I haven't in a few days. Oh and check out my friend with a gun blade from Final Fantasy 8. Really it's just a sharp piece of metal welded on to a gun but it's still cool.

The links are easy to fix. Just find somewhere in your profile sections "a:hover {*SomeCSSMumboJumboHere*}", and there should be something along the lines of a text-size or font-size thing(I can never remember which it is... some attributes are font, some are text.. it's confusing; like, there's font families, and text decorations and such). Located it, and remove it. Remove the whole hover line if you want to, it'll default to the standard, then.

Define "Fine" and we'll talk. Either you're completely lying or just exagerrating.. or perhaps other dumb@sses' MySpace pages load slower, thus yours seems to load fine, but I've been to many a page with excess garbage and there's always a definite slow. And I have DSL, on a wired connection. I could figure a fraction of the time might be due to the fact that the network cable is fairly long, but that's hardly affected any other pages. Hell, I can even give a bit of time on account of MySpace always has a slow to it(due to heavy traffic no doubt..). That bs is still making it worse though.
Regardless of how incredibly inconsiderate it is to load up a page with that bs, it makes it look ugly as sin. I can't see it now, since you've set it to private, but either way, that stuff's for n00bs. But hey, that doesn't matter, because so is MySpace. Have fun in n00bland.

Thats kinda harsh considering that most folk... well, I guess "plenty" of folks try and use MySpace as a place to keep in touch with friends and express them selves. And I don't mean express them selves in that cheap goth way. Not to pimp my page anymore but I think mines is a great example of someone who "keeps it real" since I try and keep my friends list down to a minimum. Also I actually know in person the people on my friends list. Except two. And instead of having some stupid rock band I have a book Author. And I write simple blogs not the stupid garbe of someone trying to be deep.
While most of MySpace is riddled with n00bs I think there is a big percentage that enjoys small scale.

Majority rules, mate. If the majority is n00bs it's a n00b site. I'll grant that since those with brains and the n00bs don't necessarily have to associate with each other, it's a bit better than, say, GAIA - where, no matter how intelligent you try to be, your topics will receive tons more responses from n00bs than other intelligent people - for the most part it's n00bs, which makes it qualify as a n00bland website.
I hear what you're saying, in fact, I believe further up in this topic I said myself that I do just about the same thing, eh. My friends list consists of thirty five people, and I think there's only one of them that I don't know in person.(though, a person I do know in person claims to know her... random luck, I guess; and I think adding bands is okay, but just like whichever you're most into at a time) But still, while I use it to keep in touch with friends, I go to those friends' profiles and often find not only terrible layouts "pimped" by morons using mediocre profile generators, but metric tons of YouTube videos, Flash profile crap, ridiculously oversized images, background music, etc. It really takes away from the idea of keeping in touch, when you want to say something to someone but don't WANT to go to his profile.
Of course, on that same note, considering my profile is entirely Text-Based, I think I may off-put the other morons who don't like to READ. But I boldified the important words, and italicized the slightly less important words, so what they need to know kinda jumps off the page. xD
