Everyone on MMLS listens to my music (aka - MML Remixes). They don't listen to anything else because I'm just so amazing.
By the way, I'm BSing you. Either way, I listen to rap, rock, techno, trance, heavy metal...some other stuff, but I feel that that's all that matters at this point.

I'm one of those nerds who studies and don't really like rap and hip hop. This may seem dorky, but the only songs I like are video game music like Legends, Final Fantasy, and Radiata Stories. I also like Neon Genesis' "A Thesis of the Cruel Angel."

I like underground hip hop. Well not really but I like the Last Emperor. He is amazing. And he is not afraid to rap about "nerdy" stuff like super heros. His songs are really deep.

i like rap, r&b, and some pop and my favorite dj is dangermouse .i love rap and all but to tell you the truth, it is getting very stupid. Too many fans are getting "brainwashed" by beats. Artists like 50 cent, camron, ja rule, young jeezy are corny these morons need to stop making nursery rymes and rap about some thing else. I mean rap should be somewhat easy to understand and more poetic not all rap should be about talking about things you dont own. I'm not saying that all rappers are bad a good 65% of the commercial ones are. oh and here a example of how easy it is to make a song that sticks in your head www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/blog/AOTB/post/550827/KPers_Cottage_Cheese_Thighs.html

I say that everybody with grills are fake. But thats not fair though cause I guess anybody could think that looks good. I just can't stand a song sang about jewelry. Well Diamonds are Forever is pretty good but that song had symbolism and above that it was just well done. It was creative which is more than can be said about pretty much anybody famous.
What people don't realize is that Hip Hop is being repackaged and sold soullessly. It's the new boy band. So basicly... it's made for fourteen year old white girls. Which might be alittle brash but that is a key demographic that is considered when an artist gets signed.
You might notice that Rock is making a comeback. Thats because Hip Hop is becoming stale and people are slowly realizing it. After a few years it's going to be Rock that get commercialized again. Then Hip Hop will rise again reborn and once again original. But then ofcourse the rich labels will get a hold of it again and market the brains out of it. It's the cycle of capitalism and we just have to live with it.
I personally can't think of a reason why anybody would listen to Hip Hop for anything beside the lyrics. I urge everybody to find songs by The Last Emperor. He was signed to Aftermath before Shady had made his mark. But he was droped because he didn't want to change his style. Instead of rapping about pimps and hos he was rapping about Karma, Legends of the Hood, Hidden Strenght that all Men have, and even super heros. A very diverse range of topics that always kept his songs intresting. He has made songs with Riza and KRS so he knows some people but he never took off.
If your going to look I recomend: Remember, CIA(One of the only songs of his with curse-words), Charlie Brown, Secret Wars(An awesome song where he makes his favorite Rappers fight his Favorite Super Heros), Monumental, Karma, Black Magic, and so much more. If you happen to find any that are dumb then odds are that was a song his label forced him to sing while he was still under them.

I usually only listen to video game soundtracks, and I've only just stepped into the realm of J-Pop. Any time of the day, you'll catch me listening to something like "One-Winged Angel, "Brighter Side," or maybe even the entire soundtrack to Final Fantasy VII. However, you can plant spy cameras around my room and not once will you see or hear me listening to rap music. I do, for some reason, listen to a lot of rock and metal. I like "Beast and the Harlot" by Avenged Sevenfold and "Dance, Dance" by Fall Out Boy, but not once will I go to one of their concerts.

I listen to, like most people here, video game sound music Like Megaman legends ( I really like the sound when your fighting juno and when your fighting sera), other than that I'll listen to random things of Rock, having no particular band in mind, and also, for reasons that escape me, Classical music.

I'll listen to just about everything musical, the more bizzare the better. Lyrical music needs to have some musical substance to it, because a beat isn't going to get my brain juices flowing. I have my modes, then I have my appropiate music for appropiate times. I find a lot of mass commercial music very formulatic, but some of it, a small handful of it, is pallatable to my tastes. A handful of groups I can think of off the top of my head that I like more than one song to are Emerson, Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, T-Rex, The Residents (only one of their albums so far - an experimental collection of musical "drabbles"), Goldfrapp, Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd (If you think Dark Side of the Moon is their best, you did not hear Animals), The Police (Sting, darling/sexy as he was in his prime, isn't too great by himself), among other things.

Songs that have such nonsensical lyrics that have no purpose whatsoever are the ones that appeal to me the most. My god, thank you B-52s, Pillows, Dead Kennedys, you're all so great.
