me too (but Bush is crazy and I'm surprised he didn't kill us yet) because I don't want to be commend grunts who don't feel like being in the Military all that would do is cause me shoot them and they'd probably have a lot of disrespect issue in the military If they "officially" start the draft.

I don't know what to say anymore, other than that we Americans have a penchant for beating hornets' nests with sticks in hopes of accomplishing something when the problem is more than that.

Said problem being that the hornets have laser-beams attached to their abdomins!
Or you know, not. Either one.

Currently in college and planning on going into OCS for the Marine Corps afterwards.
For anyone that doesn't understand, OCS is officer candidate school. To be an officer in any branch of the United States military you must have at least a Bachelors degree in any feild. There are of course many other requirements but that is the most basic.
A lot of people oppose joining the military at this point in time because the war is controversial and the president is generally unpopular for it. But I can relate with rage and his call of duty. The president will be out of office soon enough anyways. Also war isn't neccesarily like it is in movies. Movies are constant fighting with small breaks, real war is the opposite. You spend most of your time walking, sitting in the back of a truck, or patrolling an area. And if rage joins the Air Force theres a slim chance he'll be in a position to be shot at.

Thank you somebody agrees with me and I never thought anybody here would actually join the service.
Good Luck with the Marines and you better make General.

I am currently 14, I have a very strong call of duty, but I dont know what were fighting for, so I will not join, if it wasnt for my family, I would be right alongside Rage. There WILL be a draft, from what I have seen this war will never end, if you contradict that, you have no knowledge of the situation. If I am drafted, I wil fight, but if I can escape to Mexico, I will.

Right now, we are in a war to "liberate" Iraq. Do I care about liberating a country that has always had war? Nope, I could care. That's their problem, not mine. We can't spread democracy with a 23 year old Marine holding an M16. Do I want to kill some terrorist?... since 9/11...HELL YEAH!
@ Anti-Shef
When you turn 18. We will have a different president. If it's a Democrat the war will end. If a Republicain... A draft might happen. Also don't go to Mexico if a draft is started, join the Coast Guard. They'll still go to the Middle East but all they do is guard the ports. So you should be safe.
At the time Omega52 said that. It was true but now the Air Force is taking up more of the Army jobs. Also I'm doing Security Force's, I'm going to be more than your average Airman.
Also my training is going to be long.
2 months in boot camp 6 months in training roughly 3 months in Security Forces Academy
WHOA! That's 11 months. I'll be busy for along time.
